I think what Smederna are doing in streaming all their meetings live is a terrific idea for improving the profile of the club. They now have a supporter in the USA-me!. I loved the encouraging of the young kids parading round on their small bikes. Maybe we were watching tomorrow's AJ ? You never know. Never seen anything like that at a UK track . Also like the little touches of celebrating a 5-1 on a lap of honour with the team flag and the presentation of flowers to each rider at the end. Just little things but it all adds up. Does the track announcer have THE most distinctive voice in speedway? Anyway, well done Smederna for trying in these difficult economic times. Regards. Alan.

Thank you for your really helpful advice. We oid guys need all the technology help we can get! The "BrandonBee 48" user name is the year my father first took me, at the age of 4, to see speedway. 62 years later i still LOVE it. I saw the first 8 heats today, before it froze on me. I can watch the rest on the replay. In the 2 Smederna matches i have seen there have been an awful lot of crashes. Just bad luck? I love the stadiums in Sweden and the Vastervik track, with the picnic tables by the start line is exactly the way to watch a meeting. Thank you for all your informative posts about Swedish speedway. My first hero was an Australian, Les Hewitt. My second rode for Coventry in 1956, Per Olaf Sodermann. He was a great rider. Kindest regards. Alan.

When he was with the Bees i wrote to him and asked for an autograph for my son who was 4 at the time. He sent him a shed load of pictures, stickers and Speedway Stars with cover pictures. Then when we went over the next year he had us in the pits and we took photos of my son on his bike. My son will never forget that and nor will i. Great bloke and a credit to the sport.
