  1. What is Lindgren's average in Poland this season.? He may be the king of Monmore Green, but he doesn't seem so hot on the bigger tracks. Alan.
  2. Dudek should say a big thank you to Protasievich for protecting him in that heat.
  3. Thank you Mateusz. Henryk was a terrific rider and great guy. Alan.
  4. Henryk was the first Polish rider to ride in England. He was a lovely little bloke, who won the Brandonapolis, then a REALLY big individual meeting held after the World Final. He got down on his knees and kissed the shale after his last ride at Coventry and never came back from behind the "iron curtain" as it was in those days. Alan.
  5. Zyto.? Any relaition of Henryk Zyto who rode for Coventry Bees in 1959? Alan.
  6. Why we love the sport. Brilliant. Gizatulin is trying so hard. Alan
  7. There you go Mateus. The start you wanted! Good race too. Alan.
  8. Always in awe of this stadium. Magnificent. May the racing match. Regards. Alan.
  9. Thank you. I love everything about these meetings, the racing, the atmoshere, the crowds, the stadiums. The only thing is i don't understand Polish! Shame on me!!!! I figured they might say something about his return in the first meeting. Let's hope it is good news. Regards. Alan.
  10. Hope you had a good Canada Day on the 1st, my friend. Big holiday here tomorrow, of course, but any day there is speedway i am "otherwise occupied"!. Any of you got any news on how Emil is coming along? I really miss seeing him . Regards. Alan.
  11. So, from 11 am to 3 pm (here) that is me glued to the computer with Wimbledon on the tv in the background. Enjoy your weekend. Regards. Alan.
  12. It is an unfortunate reality of life in the USA that my beloved sport, as far as TV is concerned, does not exist. The only coverage in the last year was on a High Definition channel called HD. Theatre which shows a mish-mash of proramming. I only came across it by chance one winter's afternoon with a promo for "F.I.M. Speedway Grand Prix-2009." It was a 1 hour version. But unless you have a Dish satellite package, with HD channels, you would never find it. So, for fanatics in the US, it is the internet streams or nothing. Any young American who comes over to Europe should be encouraged to the hilt. All he gets in the US is a wall of indifference. Greg may be the last of a dying breed. Sad. Alan Haycock.
  13. A bonus for a Thursday. Thanks guys and back on Sunday. Regards to all. Alan.
  14. And heat 10- wow, what a ride by Antonio. Well done. Alan.
  15. Hi Pawel, I used to live in Canada, in Toronto, then London. Ontario. Great country. Now, since 1997 i am near Pittsburg. Still a Coventry Bees fan, though they got stuffed last night, and maybe also tonight at Eastbourne. Regards. Alan.
  16. Thanks both of you, i have it just fine. If we get the gate working. Regards. Alan.
  17. One of the most embarassing screw-ups in speedway, the starting gate not working!. Try it half an hour before the start, then you have time to get it right. The dust was flying already in heat 1. Enjoy. Alan.
  18. Thanks my friend. They will need to keep the water cart going around regularly with your good weather also. Hope it is an exciting meeting, with nobody getting hurt and that we get the ideal speedway result- a home win by 2 points in a last heat decider! That will make you happy! Kindest regards. Alan.
  19. And this week it looks as though it is on. Really looking forward to what, on paper, looks like a very evenly balanced meeting. Hope the weather is as good as it is here today in the USA. Is it a holiday in Poland today or is this just a rearranged fixture on a convenient day? Regards to all. Alan.
  20. That was a great ride by Holta in heat 14 to beat the track-crafty vet Greg. Showing how much i love this sport by staying with this. Over to Spain /Portugal as soon as it is over. Kindest regards. Alan
  21. Thank you, my friend. I'd celebrate with a swedish beer, but i can't find one at the local beer store here in Pennsylvania, so a Bass ale it will have to be!. Hope we get injury free close racing. Regards. Alan.
  22. Anders, thank you for your information regarding the questions i asked. Very much appreciated. I see the crowds in Poland and go "amazing". I see the crowds in Sweden, and go "respectable, considering the economic situation". I see the crowds in England and i want to weep. I know these are televised matches, but still. I see Coventry and Wolverhampton, where i used to go every week, and i can almost count the total number of people. The promoters??????? in England need to look at Polish and Swedish admission prices. If i were there and at 16 pounds , i might be tempted to pick and choose a bit.Plus you get 16 heats in Sweden. Very best wishes. Alan.
