  1. ok i guess you're probably right. i recognised james holder but thought the other looked like morris. if it was jack that would explain chris's reaction when nicki pushed back. worky managed a win tonight could do with them pinching a point tomorrow, not sure i see it happening
  2. shame if nick wasn't really injured, i'd be very surprised if he pulled out to go to the gp. he does have some previous. either way it worked for scunny as masters was exceptional. if somerset were watching last night they'd be hanging their head, if cookie isn't fit i'd have him booked for the dale next week. doolan back to his best which would have been great to see if it wasn't against us. tully struggled with a slow looking bike, shame as he was trying hard but that was the difference between 2 and 3 points. scunny well worth their point and must be big favourites to progress. we are still in it but a win at worky is a big ask and that is assuming scunny don't wrap it up tonight.
  3. belle vue off so cookie didn't get his practise tonight but in better new joszef tabaka is back.
  4. i think you have to credit newcastle with picking teams they believe is the best opportunity to qualify. two tough groups that are difficult to call, big decision to take somerset. great compliment to the monarchs that neither of the top 2 wanted to pick them. backs up scot's comment about the promotion delivering what they set out to do at the start of the season. if cook and tabaka come back firing on all cylinders and fresh then we have a great chance.
  5. yes that could put the cat among the pigeons. more likely that newcastle will pick leicester or edinburgh. i still think that scunny will want to avoid 3 friday teams in their section as i think they have the lowest precedence, monarchs have the highest. all 3 teams would probably have to race on one off night at least. pretty sure that would mean scunthorpe would not get a home friday night meeting. given their track situation they might not be bothered but i know the edinburgh promotion do everything they can to only run on friday nights. this is assuming they use the same rules as for league matches, would seem fairer that the highest ranked team got the choice but i'm willing to lay money that there are no rules in place.
  6. will newcastle go for easiest opponent or potentially biggest crowd puller for the cash. got a feeling they might go with the latter and pick edinburgh. they may go for workington and hope to get edinburgh as the 2nd pick as you would think scunthorpe will pick leicester. the only way i see it not being that is if newcastle pick worky and scunthorpe pick edinburgh as they won at the dale. assuming newcastle pick leicester we'd end up with 3 friday night teams in the same section. that would be a mess so another reason to carve it up to a north-south divide. looking at our scores the only place we have struggled at is workington and they are in a bit of a mess so not really worried who we get!
  7. according to twitter cookie had a skid today, it went well but he's still 2 weeks away. so kaiser for tomorrow, also missing plrc.
  8. whilst i understand your point ipswich really needed to win tonight. if monarchs win their 3 remaining home matches they will finish above the witches. it is certainly no gimme and the pesky weather could still intervene but the monarchs are still favourites. so from that perspective 'mission accomplished' or whatever phrase you want to use.
  9. it is more common than you would think george. i heard theo got a £150 fine a few weeks ago when the ref believed he made no effort to clear the track after a fall. definitely 2 witches in that boat tonight, whilst it makes you mad and is blatant cheating you'll never get rid of it completely. all teams do it and i'm sure at the business end of the season most clubs will pay the fine as it can be worth it, it probably gained ipswich a point tonight. would much prefered to have seen marcel try to keep tatlor behind him for another 2 laps. i think you need to relax the rules around awarding races and give refs the option of awarding a 5-1 in this situation regardless of how many laps have been done.
  10. Been raining all day in the south of the island, is this meeting going to be ok?
