Well mine was just a 2 mile trip from home and never thought to look at the meeting being called off as no rain all afternoon or evening. I did think somebody was taking the Mickey at first when I saw the "meeting off" signs at he car park entrance. My 8 year old daughter thought I messing her about when I said we were going home. She was so keen to see ryan terry daley in the mdl second half event. What a dreadful state of affairs. I have been very Anti mick Horton and Neil Watson over the last week or so on my rants on the forum. Actually, sorry guys you didn't deserve my criticism ((as if that matters) you are being mugged off by mr Sandhu and his "boy" Heaver big time ! I now appreciate the good you trying to do - after all why would you want to do anything different. Keep the faith guys.

If the twitter from havelock is real, then don't expect to see him at coventry speedway anytime this decade. Gary, you only saying as it is and good luck to you fella. At least you part of speedway when it was a serious proposition and a true sport. Despair big time !!!!! -

Been bugger all rain ALL day just 2 miles away - as I said before must be the Brandon micro climate ! More likely conspiracy of Sandhu and his "boy" Heaver -
Of course it was john Harrhy ! As 13 year old kids we used to stand next to his wife and her friends on the back straight. She was a real looker too !

It anybody wants the benefit of the 4 quid that Horton and Watson are giving, then please send me your address and I will send you my re-admission ticket and even give you the price of the stamp for free. Am so sorry for the young guys of the Storm who have so much enthusiasm - but for me, I now had enough.

Thoroughly expect to be shot down in flames and ridiculed but hey so what - want to share my experiences as a Coventry bees speedway supporter who is about to turn his back on the team and sport. My dad was a resident of Brandon and as a teenager in the 50's he would be part of the group that would be painting the inner white line and the bottom of the outside fence. So guess as a 1963 baby became part of his hobby in that era. I do remember in the early '70's seeing the likes of Rick France, Ron Mountford and the legendary Nigel Boocock. In 1976 I became a real regular fan and remember the packed crowd in March of that year where coventry led by ole Olsen met Ray Wilson of Leicester in the East Midlands bowl. Many fantastic years followed including Tee Mill tours coach trip to world final in Sweden (ullevi) in 1980 where Michael lee won (having watched ole knocked out at the inter continental final stage at white city) - made even more distressing hearing wrongly en-route that Finn Thomson (wolves) having crashed in practice and ole would be in ! Riders that stand out for me and bring back great memories for coventry include Mitch Shirra, alan Molyneux, Jiri stancl, Nigel Harrhy, frank smith, gary gougliemi, and Alf busk. Remember fondly the trip with many coaches of coventry supporters to Halifax and being trounced by Kenny carter, who I hated at the time, simply because the wasn't coventry. To speedway fans today, you don't know what you missed with Kenny and also the likes of Peter Collins, Chris Morton, Doug Wyer, john Louis, Dave jessop et al. In the latter years Coventry had the wealth of Greg Hancock, billy hamill, Andreas jonsson and lee Richardson (rip lee) in the same team at the same time. It's only when you look at that and what we got today as to how mugged off we, the supporters have become. Today's Poland Is the yesterday of uk speedway, no wonder that the sport thrives in that country and how pathetic we are here. When I go to coventry now, I see the demography of the speedway support and the lack of younger fans. Only a matter of time before it's lost forever. I have tried to introduce the sport to my 8 year old daughter and she is crazy about the storm's ryan terry-daley, but unfortunately she is in the minority. Really wish I had the time, money and proper experience to promote the sport - it can be real entertainment and a joy for both sexes and all ages, but think it's gone too far down the wrong path and direction. Come on all, shoot me down .

Yeah, should be on the Peterborough pages - however pis@ed myself laughing at the luck that Horton is having. Can anybody help with the Samaritans phone number for the guy Why cancel the NL meeting on the 4th ? There is Stock Car on the 5th. !
-
The polish track curator and the announcer should have swapped roles with other half way through. However, on reflection, if they did, you would not have seen any difference anyway
-
I read on the coventry bees web site that details of the 'discount to be applied' on production of their re-admission tickets for a future NL meeting will be provided in due course - in accordance with the (BSPA) regulations. That means I gotta pay the "muppets" some more of my money again in order to get a concession. Nah- don't think so ! They made a fortune last night in the track shop, endless queues at the refreshment/food areas and the 2 quid they charge for two sheets of a4 paper with a staple in the middle they call a 'programme'. This promotion have taken the pis# too often over the last few years and may come to regret it. If anybody wants my re-admission ticket - let me know and will willing send.

Watson and Horton hope you sleep well tonight ! Call yourselves speedway promoters - tonight's farce was anything but promoting ! After heat 4 and a crash, 10 minutes later it was announced that grading needed to take place. 25 minutes later the grading began. Heat 4 re-run, then heat 5 and the all important heat 6 - the point of no return for the paying public (unless things have changed) All of a sudden a conference and the supporters left sitting in the cold again like idiots for many more minutes where ultimately the meeting not surprisingly called off. The riders safety is paramount and have no problem with the decision. Watson and Horton - you employ peter York who has a roving microphone - why not think of the supporters and let us know what's going on. You had a Tenner from me tonight - but you ain't gonna get many more from me for a while you muppets. Happy days Must say however, I did have some entertainment tonight from your new 'man in the box' announcer. If he was a Mickey take, then good on you and if he announces on Sunday for the elite riders then the crowd are in for a treat - for the cringe worthy things he comes out with.

Slight worry is Jason Garrity score at p'boro last night. Looked good last week In the practice at Brandon. Hope it's just first night issues. Despite my observations of ryan having a few extra pounds on his body, seems to have had a positive effect on his racing points to date. What do I know, probably is muscle and good luck to the fella ! You deserve it ryan for the effort you put in. Pity you ever met that Jannniro guy who I reckon led you in the wrong direction otherwise what could you have achieved in the sport ?
-
Very impressed with Sarjeant and especially so Garrity whose style is very entertaining and much reminds me of john cook, but without the leg in the air. Ryan looked to be carrying a few extra pounds of weight to the last time I saw him. What the hell was wrong with the Hansen kevlar's. - seems he is black and lime !!! But hey, he looked good too ! Mr Harris though stood out for me though. I know you can't tell as an individual on practice day, but looked younger than his years. Hans was Hans and so pleased for the guy - good luck for the coming season to him. Reckon we got something good with Kyle as well. On the face of it an impressive prospect as a whole for 2014. Good luck guys.

With a bit of luck Sandhu ends up with a white elephant earning him sod all ! What chance has a potential buyer getting through Rugby Council as many have tried before. Just look at Oakdale Nurseries across the road from the stadium. just give up ! 12 months after speedway has ended in Coventry it will just take up a few inches in the speedway star about he history, Nigel Boocock, Rick France, Ron Mountford Ole Olsen and to me Gary Gugliemi (out and out entertainer) I originally have commented that speedway will fold on the uk if coventry were no more - but know I was wrong. Long live British Speedway !
-
I guess I was anti mick Horton at the start of his coventry regime (like a lot of folk, maybe I got him mixed up with his brother !) However, with him and his team of Neil, and Blayne et al, would take my hat off to them (if only I wore a hat) for their hard work and enthusiasm in making good times back at coventry speedway (although the team let them down in 2013) Not a good future for them in coventry, and wouldn't blame them for focusing their efforts in reviving the fortunes at EOS now they got their feet in the door. Good luck Mick,Neil and Blayne - at least you tried !

Coventry a place that Adolf Hitler tried to destroy 70 years ago and was vilified for it. The coventry city council have achieved it over the last few years and I pay council tax for them to do it !!! I am coventry born and bred and proud of its history - but disgusted to be part of its present ! Should not be part of a speedway forum I know, but once Coventry go, then the writing on the wall for 1st class speedway in the uk is my opinion, Britain lost its "Great" tag several years ago and such a shame. When we can pay footballers gbp 300k a week - for pouncing around a football pitch, that says it all. At least I may be able to still watch speedway in the gp's on TV going forward. guess I just another sad old 50 year old that does remember the good times. Collins, Mauger, Olsen. Let me log off now to find my slippers, pipe and horlicks and read this mornings Daily Mail.
-
How about forget it ! No chance any Middle Englander gonna want noise and disruption every week during the summer months. As for Sandhu, he asks for contact via e-mail etc, but hey it's Jeremy Heaver who you sending messages too. Sandhu could not give a monkeys and he paying his "monkey" for taking the flack. Rip Sandhu !!!

God help us if Branford back in uk for 2014. Just a cocky upstart who happened to come good on one night in 2013, Having seen his spoilt kid attitude riding for the coventry Storm last year, uk don't need him. Just read on speedwaygp.com referring to him as a teenage sensation . What utter rubbish !!!

As the saying goes " good point, well made Barbara " Oh, I love this forum for winding people up. Roll on March and tapes up - if only this bloody rain stops ! Thank you (muchas cracias)

Yeah, but he a second rate premier league rider - and paying in less than he is getting out. Just another Aussie Criminal decedent coming back for revenge ! Why not stay in Aussie and come back once he healed. As for Brujas Espanalos ( message above ) the name says it all. Nothing wrong with the daily mail. I guess you abusing the UK rules too Happy days. Sorry shouldn't say abusing the rules as no doubt you only taking what you are allowed !! Welcome to Great Britain - without the Great anymore unfortunately !! Still Happy days !!
