  5. About the old West Ham stadium(custom house) The stadium was sold to developers who evicted the speedway team and closed the stadium in 1972. It was subsequently demolished and housing was built on the cleared site, with some streets named after former speedway stars. These are Atkinson Road (Arthur Atkinson), Croombs Road (Tommy Croombs), Young Road (Jack Young), Wilkinson Road (Arthur 'Bluey' Wilkinson), Lawson Close (Aub Lawson) and Hoskins Close (Johnnie Hoskins).

  16. Best Pairs website-English version The Great Final of Speedway Best Pairs Cup series in Esbjerg is closer and closer. It’s already today at 8 p. m. in Denmark the third round of SBPC will start and this is the evening when we will know the best speedway pair in the world. Below there are official lineups in which particular national teams will start in Esbjerg. Tai Woffinden will no start in Great Final of Speedway Best Pairs Cup in Esbjerg. He will be replaced by Rory Schlein. The Briton had to start today in Esbjerg, but at the last minute changed his mind. The reasons for such a decision should be asking the rider. One Sport will not be commenting the above case. “This is far from an ideal situation, especially as I have always stated I support the idea of Great Britain competing in the event, but my hands have been completely tied. “The majority of the riders in line for places in my World Cup squad are racing in domestic fixtures on Saturday night, which take priority, and those who aren’t simply don’t have the mechanical set-up and back-up to get to Denmark at short notice and then back for their next fixtures. The only thing I could have done would have been to put in a totally inexperienced junior, and I really don’t feel this meeting is the place to do that." - said Allun Rossiter, team manager of Great Britain. It is worth mentioning that all the other teams will compete today in Denmark at the best available squad.

  19. They have practice sessions all the time in Poland, especially before big matches-tomorrow is important for Wroclaw as not only being their 1st home match of the season-with the best team they have had for several years- because of stadium rebuilding they are running their 7 home matches within 8 rounds of matches. So understandingly they want to get their home programme off to a good start.
  20. More like his club-Wroclaw. it`s their 1st home match of the season tomorrow and they have probably said to their team- "we are having a practice today-you will be here" With wages for the top riders in Poland at around £1500 per point you do as you are told.
