  1. Armando Castagna was a coach driver-didnt he take over behind the wheel when the normal driver got tired ,on the legendry Chalfont/Racers northern tours-bikes in the back, riders and hangers-on in the front !!
  2. Beaware Skavsta airport is nowhere near Stockholm. It is very near Nykoping.
  3. I can tell you what we did last year.We flew Ryanair to Stockholm Skavsta airport,on friday evening and stayed at a new hotel yards from the terminal called connect hotel Skavsta(www.booking.com for prices)we then on sat morning picked up the hire car from the airport and drove to Malilla-which is a leisurely 3 hours away. we then stayed on the sat night at the nearest town to malilla we could find accommodation at which was the Stadshotell at Vimmerby. We then motored back to Skavsta on the sunday.Ryanair fly to Skavsta from Stanstead,Birmingham,Liverpool and Scotland. hope this helps
  4. QUOTE (Rob B @ Jan 4 2009, 02:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've tried contacting them and had no response, anybody got a phone number or email address they will reply on? You could try emailing liz.andersen@imgworld.com if she can`t help i`m sure she will pass it on to someone who can. you could also try phone no.0208 233 5854
  5. It is over 6 weeks ago that the deadline for completing the form indicating which GP we wanted tickets for.Iv`e heard nothing since-has anyone ?
  6. The problem with Wizzair are that the pilots must be taught to belly-flop the aircraft onto the runway !
  7. Im looking to fly to Poznan with Wizzair out of Luton-im worried whether by next May they will be still in business.I suppose if i pay by credit card im covered for any losses.Anyone with views or suggestions ?
  8. Thanks for info have used www.booking.com in past but these look a lot cheaper with a fair amount of choice
  9. I have been checking out hotels in Prague and Copenhagen in readiness for gp trips, and the prices seem to have gone through the roof ! ! I know the pound is really struggling against the euro at present - can this be the only reason for these ridiculous prices ?
  10. We have already been told by Ryanair to get stuffed as regards claiming any costs back-however they did re-fund £12 each for the cancelled flight, which only leaves us about £140 ea out of pocket !im glad i hadnt taken out ryanair insurance because you cannot claim anything unless the flight has been delayed for 4 hours before cancellation.they are a bunch of crooks but no doubt i will fly again to a gp with them.have a look at http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/ryan.htm and read about all the other poor s*ds
  11. if you dont mind going fri-mon you could try www.click4sky.com which offers cheap czech airline flights.for a hotel try www.booking.com who have over 250 hotels in prague listed.
  12. yes re-paid into my bank account yesterday-although i had emailed them asking where my refund was.
  13. They must have known wednesday they had a problem-im sure Colin could have got there on thursday.
  14. QUOTE (Rob B @ Oct 17 2008, 05:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't think it would have worked as it wasn't the top surface that was wet from rain it was whe whole base of the track that was wet from using wet shale to build it. Im not so sure-didnt olsen say they had considered using a machine but is was too heavy-merediths surely is much lighter in weight
  15. Unless it was April 1st when sky showed it in use at swindon-it certainly worked there
  16. a friend of mine was talking to Colin Meredith at Peterboro last night and Colin said that if he had been asked-early enough-he could have got his drying machine to gelsenkirchen and saved the meeting. As the BSI people were at Coventry for the world team cup round,i would have thought they would have seen it as i believe it is stored there.
  17. Correct the man has to go immediately the last race has finished on saturday.
  18. If one could find a quote from a high ranking BSI employee saying -that the beauty of the indoor tracks is that one can travel knowing that the meeting isnt going to be affected by the weather-would help enormously in any legal action
  19. Dont under-estimate IMG,they are a very successful company and will not want this fiasco to tarnish their reputation-major changes will be made after this.
  20. In my view a further statement should be issused by the senior vice president-IMG motorsports Rob Armstrong. The buck surely ends with him.In my view Mr Olsen has to go over this-he obviously under estimated the problem,as checking the webcam, they didnt even work thro the night fri/sat.IMG should this winter hire a giant warehouse or un-used stadium and spend all winter if neccessary, perfecting laying one-off tracks-with a new track team of the best track curators in europe(money should be no object)this cannot be allowed to happen again.
  21. In the Compton crash Barker was so close to him he couldnt avoid contact-could so easily have been so much worse.
  22. Surprised no one appears to have commented on the two high speed crashes-Andre,Kaukko and Ben were really fortunate to escape injury.I was very dissapointed with the racing-ive seen terrific meetings at sheffield in the past but the riders all afternoon seemed to struggle to get close to the riders ahead of them.
  23. On the motor club Lonigo website it states 20.00 start time.Sky did say 6pm start time for the programme as usual,so perhaps they will change it to 7pm.
  24. Pretty obvious-young shield cannot start before october-cut-off isnt till late september.if the team decide to pull their fingers out there is quarter, semi and final to consider before you can run the last meeting-the end of era meeting.
