From The Argus by Brian Owen Eastbourne chief Bob Dugard has revealed why he has no financial worries about taking the club into third-tier racing. Eagles will track a young side in the National League in 2015 after their Elite League place was put on ice for a year. It rlosses, even if the new team prove to be a turn-off for fans. The long-serving promoter revealed: “Financially I’ve got no fears about next year. “If we only get 100 people per meeting our losses would still be one-sixth what they are at the moment. “At 200 people per meeting we would almost be breaking even but we would not be able to help riders with equipment and the like. “At 400 people we would be able to help them in that way. But that’s all it would be. “It would not be spending big money on riders. “The whole basis of this league is to develop young riders and we won’t be any different. “I don’t know what level we will be at in the first season but we will get to grips with the league in time.” Eagles’ change of league means skipper Cameron Woodward will leave the club he joined early in the 2006 season as a young replacement for the injured Brent Werner. He has been granted a testimonial at Arlington next year.

Unnecessary Delays Due To Low Sun ?
sussex bulldog replied to cyclone's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I can remember a previous incident at Arlington many years ago but agree they have not been common. -
Good luck in your retirement from speedway Lukas. Hope you prosper in the family business.

It does seem all wrong does not it ?

I can't see it mentioned anywhere else but it seems Jason Doyle has been refused a permit now.

What Now For Joe Screen?
sussex bulldog replied to Hamish McRaker's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
That accident at Kings Lynn whilst riding for the Eagles was horrific. A young first aider passed out when she saw Joe's bone coming out of his thigh. Joe was always a great racer and a good team mate and always had time for his fans. Hope whatever he does he is happy and prospers. -
Speedway Star W/e 28th December Edition

I have subscribed to the digital version and it means I get mine on time even here in France -
When I ran an amateur dramatics society I used to send reports to the local newspaper. They used to print them word for word under the name of their theatre critic. They did send someone to see the play though !

I don't have any problems with the centre green presenter at Eastbourne. He is first class. What I mean by lack of communication is telling the fans what is going on and not keeping them continually in the dark.
-
Bradford Hawk that is an excellent post especially coming from your position. I have thought for a long time that the main problems that fans complain about are the lack of communication and the lack of promotion, An up to date website with all the news and explanations of the rules would be a big step in the right direction.

Alcohol At Cardiff
sussex bulldog replied to loyal royal's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
My eldest son treated me to a seat at the GP and he and his fiancee chauferred me there and back. I thought the racing was great but the deafening gas horns right behind my ears and the constant to and froing of people buying beer and spilling it spoiled a good day. I suffer from arthritus and cannot get up quickly. These people were just pushing me before I could move. -

Being chauferred there and back in the day by eldest son as a birthday treat At least I can shut my eyes when we go over the Severn -
How extraordinary Bryn. I was a mobile DJ in the 60s and 70s and bought all my equipment from Newham Audio. We might have been picking up new equipment at the same time ?

I remember him riding for the Eagles in Gareth Rogers day. They de-camped up to Milton Keynes. Not seen him since.

Thanks for that. What a waste of a once great stadium.
