After watching Sky tonight and seeing Briggo saying that he is only likely to raise in THE RIDE £60k of the £120k he had hoped for the ex-riders in wheelchairs, it made me think that with Cardiff coming in 12 days with 40,000 people of which 30,000+ will be British why not lets all give at least £2 to this fantastic cause at the gate or collection points around the stadium, of course it would be up to Briggo and his team to arrange this. What an opportunity to support the legend that is Barry Briggs and the victims of this fantastic and sometimes cruel sport of ours, so:- ONE LESS PINT AT CARDIFF £2 FOR BRIGGO What do others think?

What is less attractive about the World Cup the Gp Challenge & a GP

Today its been announced that Vojens has been awarded the 2010 GP challenge inaddition to a GP & the World Cup Race Off and Final. Has the FIM gone mad 3GP's in Poland and 3 major world events at the same venue in Denmark I thought that Ole Olsen's new role was to increase the number of counties that stage top class world speedway events not to run them at his own track, prehaps we could run the British GP at Vojens as well. There might be a logical answer as to why, but shorly at least there must be a statement from the FIM

The British GP just a week away now and the biggest speedway meeting in the world. It seems to me that many people on this forum always wants to put the event down by moaning this wrong and that is wrong. So I'm starting this thead just for fans who want tell of their good Cardiff experiances, please no moans (there are plenty of other threads for that) and lets GP week off to a great start

For all those looking for hotels for the British GP why not try places like Pontypridd, Merthyr or Abergavenny there are penty of very good small Hotels & B&B's in these areas that should be glad of the the trade and the trian services run till late. If you are driving why not try places like Brecon where I live, only 1hr from Cardiff and make a weekend of it in the Welsh countryside for the price of one nights stay in the overpriced Hotels in the City. I hope this is of help

Neath Abbey Stadium is now covered by an industrial estate and no sign of the track at all, at the time when it operated in 1962 there was no M4 and the area was hard to get to, I remember Neath beating Poole 38 - 40 their first home defeat for a about 2 years

I am fed up with constant moaning about the state of the EL and putting down of promoters. We live in a differant world to the 1970's, we have to put up with the way things are now. The EL this year has been the most open for years Poole won it and Eastbourne took the cup when everybody gave them no chance could this happen in Poland & Sweden I think not, the cheque book does not rule here. Lets not worry about only having one rider in the GP next year its all happen before, all countries have their ups and downs GB, Poland & Sweden have all seen it. The GP's are fantastic but which is the jewel in the crown is - CARDIFF. They said that England could never win the World Team Cup but after years of BB, Sprouts & RM (and with glory) representing GB but the likes World Cup Willie, PC & Simmo proved them wrong for many years In 2009 will only we will only have 4 - 5 GP riders in the EL but so what regardless what they say all need to ride the tracks in GB and not just the motorways in Europe. The EL is the best in the world as was the old NL, PL & BL was and will always be, Nicki, TR, Hans, Eric, Jan O, JC,& TG have all rode EL or BL, it says it all. There are many things wrong with British speedway but lets not always put it down we are the best where else can a rider ride the likes of Lakeside & Swindon in one week not Poland not Russia not Sweden only GB. I do not condem riders who abandon GB for the the rich pickings of others countries they put their lives on the line for us all and like us all they have a living to make but they will be back . A Poole fan for 50 years and totaly believe in British SPEEDWAY
