  1. If the BSPA gave a monkeys about British speedway they would have bought Newport speedway off the Mallets which could be used any time for practise and developement of riders.
  2. I do hope so , its not fair that riders world title aspiritions should be curtailed by Polish politicians.
  3. Sorry Phil but the GP's are possibly missing a few competitive riders because of the 1 rider per team in the Polish elite league.
  4. I can see negotiations between Polish tracks & BSI/IMG being frostie after inflicting us with Peter Ljung instead of Darcy Ward
  5. I seem to remember Screeny was offered a wild card after returning from breaking his leg but turned it down.
  6. None of the Polish GP venue towns have airports either
  7. The world is very different now than when we one off world finals. I think everyone is forgetting that the Poles could not travel to places like the UK and the Cardiff crowd has a very high percentage of Polish fans. So no one knows what crowd you would get for a 1 off world final at Wembley. There are far too many GP's now. I think they should run it like the Ice GP's and have about 6 meetings racing on both Saturday and Sunday thus cutting costs for travel, track prep & you still get 12 rounds to get a fair world champ.
  8. Having been to both Vetlanda & Kumla a few times the track at Kumla has quite steep banking on the bends where as Vetlanda is flat all the way round also the Kumla track is quite grippy as apposed to the sand like consistancy of Vetlanda's track. The races are won and lost comming out of the second bend on the first lap at Vetlanda, although I do love watching speedway at both venue's. Sorry to hear about Ryan's crash, Get Well Soon Ryan.
  9. Just like to say the Aussies racing their suitcases around the pits at lejonan after was more entertaining than the meeting.
  10. The Wife & I are off to Gislaved as Crumpie and Vetlanda dont have a meeting. This is the last meeting of our Swedish Speedway tour which has included 2 meetings at Vetlanda a meeting at Kumla a GP at Mallila and a meeting at Nassjo. I can't belive ive seen 2 meetings at Vetlanda without any rain, Ive had 3 rain offs in the past here & this has been the most successfull Swedish tour ever for speedway as it has rained nearly every day we've been here.
  11. Thanks for the reply, have not made our minds up on what to do on weekend yet. We would have gone to the GP but it is sold out & we did not plan the trip until about six weeks ago.
  12. Does anyone know if there is a meeting at Lelysted on Sunday & if so what time does it start as we are making our way back from a 3 week tour of Sweden in our camper and would love to attend a Dutch meeting
  13. Thanks for the reply, I think if it stays dry(it looks ok at the moment) we will make the journey down from Jonkoping for this one. Nassjo is one of the few Swedish tracks ive never been to so am looking forward to it.
  14. After seeing the way Pepe went last night I think he may be the 1 to beat. I think that there should be a facility for wild cards to be allowed to be put in this meeting. There are a few in this meeting who are wasting thier time and the meeting would benefit from the likes of Darcy, THJ & possibly Batch chucked in to the mix instead of the likes of Monberg who was passed his sell by date 8 years ago
  15. Wifey & I were there last night, still can't get over cupacoffee passing Jason in heat 15 to win the meeting. Does anyone know what time the meeting starts at Nassjo tonight as ive been told they dont have floodlights, thanks.
  16. From where we were stood you could see the gates went up on the outside first, we could not belive the red lights did not come on, it spoiled (a bit) what was the best GP ive been to in a long time. Having watched the Sky coverage this morning it looks to me as if they glossed over it compleatly. As for the music in question it made me laugh as it was quite apt for some of the refereeing that was going on, anyone who has spent any time in Sweden will know that there are 2 main radio stations and neither of them play more than about 6 records or censor anything , ive heard Pink tell me she's ####### perfect about 30 times in the last week. I would also like to put myself forward to be Jason Crump's gate picker for the remaining GP's, as soon as I saw him pick red for the semi I knew he was out. On the Gollob front his bikes sounded quite sick as he want passed us during most of his heats.
  17. To be fair to the stewards at Cardiff if you have ever been to a GP at Bydgoszcz the stewards there have helmets, riot shields & batons. I dont think its to police the British travelling fans.
  18. I was also told this was the last Cardiff GP, and it was moving to the O2 for next season.
  19. We were promised by BSI/IMG at the start of the season that top riders would get the wild cards and not just the local dross. Well so far nothings changed Balinski 4, Kus 3 & ive never even heard of this guy Jensen. I know THJ scored 8 at Gothenburg but he is a bit of a nutter who is more likely to take chances in a meeting that should never of started. I've been to over 80 gps as a fan but the last few years I can't be botherd any more because i've become fed up with the politics of it all. I will go to Cardiff this year but thats only cos I live here & judging by the wild cards for this season I think that Phil Morris should come out of retirement for one last shot at the GP if they insist on Local riders having the wild cards.
  20. Am sat in hotel room in Kolding and it is dry and sunny at the moment, the rain we had this morning was light and would not do any harm to the track
  21. Congratulations To Darcy, yesterday was the first time ive seen him ride and I cant help feeling he is the best rider ive ever seen at such a young age. The track was very grippy yesterday which caught out some of the riders & Lewis's bikes did not look quick enough. Tai was head & shoulders above everyone & you could only feel sorry for him , this is definatley the one that got away. Darcy said after the meeting that his goal was to be in the GP for 2012 but I think he could hold his own now. I was feeling very down about the future of speedway with the Russian looking to dominate the foreseable future but now I think maybe Darcy and Tai will give him more tha a run for his money.
  22. Tickets will be available soon through http://www.e-ticket.pl/, I have used my credit card with these before without a problem but other people have some problems in the past. you usually find the prices are a little higher than on the day but you can guarentee to have a good seat, and as I say I have never had a problem
  23. We have not had any letter from BSI yet, is there anyone else in forum land that is due but hasn't had a letter yet, or is it just us
  24. NO not time to forget, i don't suppose you lost hundreds of pounds on the German fiasco. I agree with Hansfan on this one I'm still very upset by what happend, i've been to 72 GP's in 12 countries & I'm not sure I will bother any more. I will go to Cardiff next year if I get my free ticket.
  25. Walasek was a bit unlucky in the final, he had it won when Lubos slid off at the back and the race was stopped. Lubos got up and was waving goodbye to the crowd thanking them for thier support, when Ferjans exclusion light came on, the ref must have seen something that no one else in the stadium had seen including Lubos. Bit of a farce me thinks.
