  1. Just seen an alert thing on the South Yorkshire Police Facebook page asking if anybody has seen Josh Bates - he has been missing since Thursday. Hope he’s ok
  2. Drew Kemp always seemed to have potential, but has never delivered. One to avoid for us I would say - he has had various chances and not taken them
  3. Seem to think when he rode for us before he was injured for most of the season and so we didn’t see the best of him. Think he had a big crash with Steady from memory
  4. I also remember Stonehewer chasing after somebody with a spade one night
  5. Completely agree - used to love a good scrap after a race, added to the atmosphere! Very very rarely happens anymore
  6. Congratulations to the Tigers, a deserved trophy. Bit processional at first, but by the end there was some really good races. Anybody see what happened in the pits with Jorgy- summats about knocking Kyle’s bike and dad over?
  7. If you want to know what a hardcore speedway fan looks like… get yourself to Owlerton!! There’s not many here
  8. The preview on the Sheffield website states that Holder, Sedgman, Klindt and Pickering are all out of the country with prior commitments
  9. I haven’t fact checked… but according to this website, Holder has a higher away average than all of those mentioned save for Worrall http://speedway-stats.co.uk/Averages
  10. Could we ride the second leg at King’s Lynn - to give them a sporting chance?
  11. Presume that BV couldn’t use IRR for Wright because he had already had 3 rides?
  12. Coupled with ‘BV cheated by signing Lambert’, ‘No they didn’t, it was in the rules’
  13. Can’t see a thread about this… Looks like both sides are at full strength so going by previous meetings this season, it should be fairly close and is by no means a done deal for the Tigers. Think we will edge it, but doubt it will be a comfortable night. After a day or 2 of rain the weather forecast is dry all day according to the BBC and Alexa… so the massive downpour this morning didn’t happen and was just my imagination! All fine now with the sun peeping through and a bit of a breeze so all should be good for tonight
  14. It may be in here somewhere, but to save me going through what I’m guessing is 23 pages of Belle Vue cheated v. Belle Vue were within the rules - did they say when the play off final dates were please?
  15. I used to live opposite the track, can’t say that I ever noticed them keeping dogs there
  16. Maybe the difference is that you could access the rear entrance to the stadium, but the incident literally blocked the entrance to the front entrance and car park. Probably a difference in numbers of people attending as well - don’t think the dogs is open to the public in the afternoon (could be wrong on that front though). My daughter normally goes dancing just down the road before speedway, they were advised by the police that they couldn’t open either. They had been told in the morning that the road would re-open early afternoon, but at around 4 they were told by the police that they couldn’t be sure when it would be open and so advised them to shut up shop for the day
  17. There have been a fair amount of showers around today - wouldn’t have thought enough for it to be called off as yet, but some have been fairly heavy so you never know. Looks like there was an incident with somebody having a gun and then crashing into a Police car on Penistone Road during the night. You would hope that they would have it cleared by rush hour otherwise traffic will be awful across the city
  18. Having spent the day in Manchester, I can safely that whilst a bit damp in Sheffield near the track, it is a lot drier on this side of the hills
  19. I can see why you like speedway… always going round in circles!! Nobody is disputing what time the last official dog race was at… doesn’t change what time the promotion can get access to the stadium according to the people who are actually involved with preparing the track… but what do they know?
  20. Just going by what the actual track staff are saying, who I presume know what they are talking about given they are the people doing the track prep. The last official race maybe at 13.59, but that does not mean all activities cease at that time or that we get access to the stadium as soon as that race finishes
  21. Some of the non-running weeks were due to stadium unavailability, so not all down to “speedway” reasons
  22. My understanding (from track staff posts elsewhere) is that we don’t get access to the track until the dogs finish at around 5.30pm. Simply not enough time to get the track fit for racing. if they half arse the preparation and the racing is rubbish or a rider gets injured, the promotion get slated. Just look at the fall out from Cardiff and the number of people vowing to never go back. Fairly sure that the decision won’t have been taken lightly, the income from a local derby would be much appreciated after the number of rain offs etc
  23. To be fair, it rained last night heavily and has been raining pretty consistently since about 8.30 this morning. Wasn’t just a passing shower
  24. Where’s that from? Nothing on the website etc Not necessarily surprised, but just can’t see the confirmation anywhere
  25. It’ll be ok - the BBC weather forecast says no rain today at all… hence I’m at work in shorts and t-shirt with no coat
