Peterborough V Sheffield Plc Friday 8th April
Cue Ball replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Was hoping we could keep it respectable, was not expecting a win! Thought the Peterborough reserves would be far too strong and ultimately be the difference, but Mr Hall came to the party!!! -

Will be interesting to see how Auty gets on, he looked good in the Leicester meeting -
Ipswich Vs Sheffield Saturday April 2nd 7.30pm

7 pages of debate about who was guesting, for who and at what position , and all for nothing -
Bugger. 2 engine failures whilst in the lead effectively did us out of a win. Fair player to Peterborough though, they rode well and probably deserved something out of the meeting. Good to see Steady back on a bike, think a couple of the races put to rest any concerns about whether there were any psych issues following his injuries that would stop him being as good as he was. Clearly wasn't afraid to mix it with the other riders and race for points.

Some positive signs for the Tigers for the year ahead. Howarth looked particularly good -

We've had a bit of a shower this morning, but nothing worth mentioning so far and the weather forecast on the BBC appears to have improved as the day has gone on -
Apologies if there is a thread for this meeting elsewhere, but I couldn't see one. Is anybody going? Must confess that I was intending to go to Belle Vue but got caught out with them selling out (has that ever happened before at a UK meeting??), not happy about having to pay £18 to get in, but have been promising my 7 year old speedway this weekend for about 2 months now and so have little choice in the matter! Just looking at the teams and I was quite surprised by Leicester's line up - am I missing something or have they not got a no.1 this year? They appearbto have gone from Jason Doyle to Patrick Hougaard in that position. Don't get me wrong as I still expect them to beat us, especially as none of our riders will have ridden the new shape track, but hopefully it shouldn't be a demolition job!

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
Cue Ball replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just realised that I'm on the Scunny thread, not Sheffield. It's been a long day... *hangs head in shame. Sigh. 😬🤐 -

Who's Josh Bailey? 😀😉😱 -
Withdrawn from the meeting with concussion 😞

So Kyle started the season with a 6.57 average and ended with a 6.98 average, including having had a spell at number 1 riding against the best riders in the league every race... not sure that I follow the logic of saying that he had a bad year.

If you are going to use Compton, why not use him now? Does his average not fit? -
Nope

Great article in the Star about Matousek, I remember loving to watch him tide, but don't think I was old enough to realise how good he actually was on the works scene

Damian Bates said that there would be news on the team manager over the next couple of weeks. I did think Ash would probably be the prime candidate - he was already meant to be getting involved in the training track I seem to recall
-
I concede it doesn't leave a lot of time... But on a 2.45 finish it gives you 3 hours 15 and realistically a bit longer because belle vue won't start bang on 6pm by the time they do presentations etc. That said if I was a Leicester fan with a ticket I would be peeved
-
Apparently the Leicester meeting starts at 1pm so there would, theoretically, be time to do both. Doubt Mr Bates is that bothered about it clashing with Belle Vue, it will be Leicester's ticket sales that will suffer rather than Sheffield's
-
Think I read somewhere that they will be out in a couple of weeks.

Klindt needs removing from Rye House and adding to Scunny instead of Poole

Happy New Year Tiger fans... It's gonna be a good un 😃

Think he was trying to point out the typo of EDR instead of EWR -
If we can stay injury free, we should be in the play offs at least, a strong looking team
-
You've got to be in it to win it

Not sure which state it was, but one of them has said no out of state riders are allowed in their competition. In any event, Proctor doesn't fit with the people was release of an exciting British rider and a European
