  1. Possibly the best racing of the season! Take a bow Messrs Lambert & Garrity
  2. Hopefully this will be the start of a change of luck for the Scorpions - from a Sheffield perspective, I obviously love beating them home and away (I do enjoy my trips to the EWR), but do hate to see them struggling like they have been this year
  3. Nice to see Roynan flying - it was a good he was otherwise it would have been a whitewash! Also nice to see Garrity riding how we know he can. Not the most exciting of matches, save for in the races with slower times which produced done decent racing. Special mention for MPT and Roynan in heat 12 - it's been a while since I've seen team riding like that. You normally have to watch with baited breath to see if one rider will take the other out
  4. It was a nasty looking accident - hope he makes a full recovery
  5. Well... That was a long old meeting, not much more to say other than that little French man is very quick
  6. I've just cycled from town to stannington and am now off for a shower to dry out...
  7. Gutted to be missing this one, potential to be a good one and a last heat decider
  8. It is a curiosity that 2 or 3 years ago (at least that is what it feels like) there was a meeting every single week from March to September more or less without exception, now most tracks are done save for the play offs by the end of August with several blank spaces in between. The number of tracks lost doesn't seem to equate to the number of fixtures lost.
  9. My mistake, forgot that the 2 point win had been scrapped for a home team winning by less than 6... Can't keep up!!
  10. Just looking at the trophy table - it looks like Sheffield's 2 points tonight put us on 13 points, Peterborough have a match left at home that if they get a 3 point win puts them on 13 points, they have a better points difference to us, so why are we definitely through to the next round?
  11. No... You were lucky to draw at Owlerton last week. 2 engine failures for us got you the draw
  12. Was hoping we could keep it respectable, was not expecting a win! Thought the Peterborough reserves would be far too strong and ultimately be the difference, but Mr Hall came to the party!!!
  13. Will be interesting to see how Auty gets on, he looked good in the Leicester meeting
  14. 7 pages of debate about who was guesting, for who and at what position , and all for nothing
  15. Bugger. 2 engine failures whilst in the lead effectively did us out of a win. Fair player to Peterborough though, they rode well and probably deserved something out of the meeting. Good to see Steady back on a bike, think a couple of the races put to rest any concerns about whether there were any psych issues following his injuries that would stop him being as good as he was. Clearly wasn't afraid to mix it with the other riders and race for points.
  16. Some positive signs for the Tigers for the year ahead. Howarth looked particularly good
  17. We've had a bit of a shower this morning, but nothing worth mentioning so far and the weather forecast on the BBC appears to have improved as the day has gone on
  18. I'm away this weekend, so am selfishly hoping for a rain off as I do enjoy my visits to the EWR!
  19. Apologies if there is a thread for this meeting elsewhere, but I couldn't see one. Is anybody going? Must confess that I was intending to go to Belle Vue but got caught out with them selling out (has that ever happened before at a UK meeting??), not happy about having to pay £18 to get in, but have been promising my 7 year old speedway this weekend for about 2 months now and so have little choice in the matter! Just looking at the teams and I was quite surprised by Leicester's line up - am I missing something or have they not got a no.1 this year? They appearbto have gone from Jason Doyle to Patrick Hougaard in that position. Don't get me wrong as I still expect them to beat us, especially as none of our riders will have ridden the new shape track, but hopefully it shouldn't be a demolition job!
  20. Just realised that I'm on the Scunny thread, not Sheffield. It's been a long day... *hangs head in shame. Sigh. 😬🤐
