Many thanks for letting us know, it's nice to see riders that we don't see very often anyway. -

Oh no!!! That's a real shame. Never mind, we're still heading south on Wed so we'll be around on Sat for the GP in the bar. Will have to try & find another meeting while we're away. Thanks for letting us know -

Brilliant - thanks very much for the info. Will look for Golden Sign line up a bit nearer the time, but sounds like it could be a good meeting. BTW, what time does Golden Sign start? Thanks. -
Hello, We're thinking of heading to Slovenija for a holiday in a couple of weeks, so might be near Krško on the night of the Göteborg SGP. Does anyone know if anywhere shows the GP live on TV? Just wondered if there was a sports bar or somewhere that would show it. We're willing to travel! Also, we've seen a mention of the Golden Sign meeting on 6th June. Does anyone know any details please? many thanks

Jools replied to Rico's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
ok, dumb questions time then, Can you pay for tickets with a credit card & do you collect them at the track? What info does the registration page need? Do you think this will appear in English? It says Account Details Login: Hasło: Powtórz hasło: adres email: Personal Details Imię: Nazwisko: Numer dokumentu (drop down box with Dowod osobisty, Prawo, Paszport, Inny ) Zgadzam się na przetwarzanie danych osobowych Zarejestruj Sorry I don't understand. Thanks. -
Road Trip 2 - Bydgoszcz To Zielona Góra
Jools replied to Rico's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hi all, Has anyone managed to book tickets on the website yet? I can get the PL page but I can't get it to select seats or find where to click to actually order any tickets. Don't know if it's me or the site! Any hints would be gratefully received, Thanks, Jools. -
Hi Janey, Parken, Wroclaw & Prague tracks are very easy by trams/bus from centre. There's loads of hotels in Wroclaw & Prague. Depends how much you want to spend! DK is never cheap for accomodation. If you really want to reduce costs, options include campsites where you could hire a log cabin, or even stay in Malmo & get the train accross the bridge. Slovenija is a bit trickier - depends where you fly into (we drive everywhere coz Paragon won't fly, so we have the car). Ppl we know have flown to Zagreb & stayed there, just coming by train for the mtg. OK option but you can miss last heat / presentation if mtg overruns & you have to run for last train back! Also ppl have flown to Trieste, Gratz or Ljubljana & hired a car. The other option is staying in Krsko & getting a taxi or walking. See previous post for Latvia - it really isn't that difficult to do independently. We'll maybe see you at some GPs then!
-
In my opinion, Latvia is NOT hard to get to. We drove to Daugavpils, but also had family who flew out. You can fly Ryan Air to Riga, get the airport bus into town (20p) & a train to Daugavpils for around £5. Easy. The road between Riga & Daugavpils is good & is a bit quicker than the train if you want to drive. Beware of cops with speed traps - don't do anything you shouldn't & you'll be ok You can get a ferry to Latvia from Sweden or Germany & even fly into Kaunas in Lithuania - have a day in Villnius & then head up to Daugavpils which isn't far away. Plenty of English menu food in Daugavpils & the stadium had very good facilities. NB. If you want to take your own car, check the green card options with your insurers. It will auto cover 3rd party as they are in EU, but we couldn't get fully comp with Direct Line. You can't upgrade on the border as you'd end up double insured which is illegal. I don't know if other companies offer LV & LT. Not too concerned as plenty of guarded parking available & public transprt is clean, cheap & efficient.

Jagus isn't a waster. However, for Jagus & Chris Harris to live with the competiton, they both need big money sponsors.
-
Yes, especially as he finished 4th in the qualifiers & JP stated how Harris was 5th. It's all demographics! BTW, can they really justify having 2 Swedish GPs with just 2 riders in the series now?

Tony Rickardsson's Final Lap - Sweden
Jools replied to rabbit's topic in International World of Speedway
I am sure the management will see first hand whether Mr L rides - I believe they are going to the mtg to say goodbye to Tony. Lindback does appear to have issues with committment & I don't think he'll be at Poole next year. -
Paragon, You forgot to mention the eminently entertaining dancing OBI mascot! Seriously, what a great mtg. Hlib was suberb going from last to first in one heat & it was a joy to see Lindgren going out chasing the dirt. Just a shame Lindback wasn't there, coz I think he would have loved the track conditions. Also, the Germans were unlucky not to be third - I felt they were a better team than the Danes (who had a better individual). Ole Olsen please take note!! Dirt on tracks = good racing with plenty of passing. Fantastic
-
So glad Jagus has got the wildcard. Just hope he does well now
-
Thanks for all the info Tarabanko & Subdei. Glad there weren't any serious injuries.
-
Thanks - hope it isn't more bad news. There seem to have been a lot of crashes lately

Hi, we're still in Sweden after Målilla & are in an internet cafe browsing the PL results. Came across Wroclaw - Bydgoscz on sportowefakty & it said Jonsson 2 3 u & comment for heat 9 was: Andreas Jonsson w ramach rezerwy taktyczniej zastąpił Sajfutdinova. Anyone know what happened - I can't get a sensible translation from the internet. Is he ok? Thanks.

Draw just announced..... 1 Bjarne PEDERSEN (6) 2 Hans ANDERSEN (16) 3 Nicki PEDERSEN (4) 4 Tomasz GOLLOB (7) 5 Leigh ADAMS (3) 6 Scott NICHOLLS (9) 7 Jason CRUMP (2) 8 Jaroslaw HAMPEL (11) 9 Ryan SULLIVAN (20) 10 Niels Kristian IVERSEN (15) 11 Lee RICHARDSON (12) 12 Piotr PROTASIEWICZ (14) 13 Greg HANCOCK (5) 14 Antonio LINDBACK (10) 15 Andreas JONSSON (8) 16 Matej ZAGAR (13) TRACK RESERVES 17 Fredrik LINDGREN (17) 18 Jonas DAVIDSSON (18)
-
Think it depends on the timing. Obviously, if Pepe & Trick withdraw early enough then the reserves will be called up (HA & RS). However, I think that logistics would dictate the track reserves are used if someone pulls out on Fri as it would be too late for anyone else to get there for practice etc. Hope to see HA & RS, but there's no mention on BSI site about it yet.
-
Not quite right on the wildcard - but looks like Trick isn't riding - if the other thread is true. Psychic Paragon strikes again!
-
We are going & Paragon is insisting we drive. He just will not fly!

The World Cup Squads Thread
Jools replied to Hazzman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We've had this discussion somewhere before, but I can't find the thread!! The conclusion was that Topinka rode under a Slovak licence now after a falling out with the Czech authorities. As a SK rider, he isn't able to ride for CZ......though I don't know why, as Rune has been N & PL at the same time & Ferjan was SLO & H etc etc!!!! edit, have found the link http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...opic=27464&st=0 btm of page 1. -
Middlo Is Another Sven
Jools replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I believe the national manager should be independent of a club. There is always going to be a conflict of interest between the day job & the 2nd one. Irrespective of WHO is the manager, he will always have favourites & those who will never ride because of politics. This will please some & irritate others. C'est la vie. It aint a perfect world. As far as Middlo is concerned, I find it incompatible with his GB role to also be the manager of a team with no British riders, no youth policy etc. Now I know you will say that this is down to the club promoters etc., but he could (& more properly should) make a policy of developing the Brits. It is unfair on other clubs to expect them to do the hard work for him. I haven't agreed with his recent decisions re Richardson, Kennett & the SGP qualifiers. I also wonder whether it might have been wise to have Andy Smith on hand for the SWC - after all, he does ride for Reading this year & has lots of experience. He would be invaluable in the pits, but Middlo said in the Star he has removed himself from Foxy's Xmas card list. Great move boss!
