Cradley V Brummies Wed 23.9.15 Gold Cup Semi Final
solrac replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
Still a decent looking Cradley team with slightly stronger lower order, but I'd just favour the Brummies. Could have sworn I read that Perks was going To Australia but I may be wrong. -
Just for clarity, are you suggesting some kind of skullduggery from Poole?

Branford has apologised so end of story. Bit of handbags, nothing more. He's always good to watch and it added some spice so look forward to National Trophy -
Eastbourne V Rye House Raiders Gold Cup 2 Pm 20/09/15
solrac replied to sussex bulldog's topic in National League Speedway
The meeting was poor, not helped by an awful referee that took ages to put on the 2 minute warning and held the tapes too long. The tractor coming on every other heat didn't help either. However, the track wasn't doctored, it was unfeasibly warm and dry for mid-september so plenty of water was applied. It helped neither team to be honest. Anyone who thinks otherwise is making up excuses for a defeat. Always enjoy our battles with Rye and hope they run a NL next season. Roll on the National Trophy final. -
I would avoid the Sunday morning and go for the Saturday night. There is a premier Inn in Eastbourne however, go for the one in Polegate, it's just down the road from the stadium.

Rye House V Eastbourne - 19th September
solrac replied to Alan_Jones's topic in National League Speedway
The Eagles had the opportunities but didn't take them (should have won at Birmingham and Mildenhall but didn't. Only drew at Stoke) so fair play to the Brummies for winning. Weather permitting Eastbourne should win the Gold Cup, Knockout Cup and National Trophy as they currently have, in my opinion, the best 1-7 in the league. If they do then it's been a great season with the rather glitzy end of season do around the Amex Stadium to come. -
Rye House V Eastbourne - 19th September

Somehow I don't think we're paying Spiller £50 a point! That Kent fixture would have been a bit pricey (over a grand!). Any chance of any evidence? -
Big crash but walked away. Bike severely mangled. Was withdrawn from meeting as was Liam Carr.

Have I missed something or have the dates for Cradley v Kings Lynn semi final not been announced yet?
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but are you suggesting that anyone that agrees with the current play off format is 'thick' and a 'sycophant'?
-
6.30 on a Friday night in the M25/M2 area? Sounds grim. Even if enough locals can make it, the away fan count would be low. Kent deserve success but running on a Friday would be risky unless Lakeside went pop.

Whatever Has Happened To Coventry's Appeal?
solrac replied to The Voice Of Reason's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Never thought they had much appeal -
Pl reserves at best at moment but obviously bags of potential..
-
1. Bradford 2. Ellis 3. Wilson-Dean Branford even.
-
I doubt there'll be any meetings after 20th October so we'll cross that bridge if we come to it. Wouldn't bother me if we ran rider replacement that late in season anyway.
-
Let's hope injury isn't too bad as Andrews has been good but mightily unlucky this season. Mattie Bates rode on Friday at Somerset so could he be an option? Massive credit to Eagles management this season as the number of injuries has been crazy, so for the team to finish 2nd and potentially win 3 trophies is a great reflection on them.
-
Make you right there with cut off being this Sunday. Rye need a win somewhere and maybe a point in another fixture. If they were to beat Coventry this Friday then that'll do it.
-
Looking at remaining fixtures it looks like a 50/50 call between Coventry and Rye House. Normally you'd say team with all those home fixtures would be a shoe-in but Coventry have got Cradley, Eastbourne and Rye House at home, quite difficult fixtures. I would imagine they will beat Buxton and Mildenhall. If Rye were to win at Kent tonight then they've definitely got a chance.

Agreed, think the viewing figures may surprise them. Think I 'll have to go to it next year as it's on my bucket list. -

Birmingham Vs Eastbourne 2nd September (@ 7:30?)

Weather forecast seems to have taken a turn for the better compared to previous ones (both bbc and met office), onwards to Perry Barr! Haven't been there before so really looking forward to it. -

solrac replied to Alex2000's topic in National League Speedway
Birmingham had every chance to have it sewn up by now. Defeats against Cradley, Rye and Buxton have put them in this position. If they had won just one of those matches then the addition of Spiller would have been immaterial from a league perspective. At least it's made the end of season a bit more exciting, if Brum win then they'll win the league, if the Eagles take it then they're in the box seat with still some work to do...
