  1. As regards tickets and app, I just got mine and it was pretty trouble free. Apologies if any repeat of previous but.. 1. Went to Google Play and downloaded SEE Tickets Wallet.to my phone. 2. Went onto SEE Tickets website and created an account. 3. Went onto SEE Tickets site on my laptop, found the GP and selected my tickets. 4. When prompted for my SEE Tickets account details I entered them. 5. After the sale went through I logged back into SEE Tickets website on laptop, went to 'My Account' then 'Orders' and could see tickets in there. 6. Logged into SEE Tickets wallet on phone and they're in there fine. Looks like a lot of faff, but took me 10 minutes. I wouldn't blame SGP etc for this, there may be some contractual thing with Stadium etc.
  2. You seem to have a real bee in your bonnet about this. Ultimately, both riders are banned whether you agree with it or not. Move on and enjoy the speedway (it was a decent meeting by the way)
  3. Unfortunately this sort of thing paints speedway in a bad light. It's bad enough for the regulars, but the chances of new/casual fans returning is very low. Surely the cost of a private ambulance would be worth it for avoiding abandonments and reputational damage. It kind of demonstrates that the sport is at its core amateur.
  4. Fair enough then must have been much heavier in North of the city.
  5. I live in South Birmingham and it was a decent shower earlier, but only a shower. Forecast is good for tonight so seems odd. Did tip it down last night but I'd be surprised if track wasn't raceable.
  6. Quick question(s), and excuse if this has been covered but looking at Ekstraliga website, are they doing some fixtures on some Thursday/Saturdays this year? Looking at May for example, fixtures on 19th/21st, June 23rd/25th etc.. Also, does anyone know if Wroclaw GP has sold out? No link for tickets on website.
  7. Am probably going to a Czestochowa match this season, can you turn up and pay (presumably with ID) on day or do you need advance?
  8. As has been hinted at before on this thread, I can't believe the current promotion thought that 1000 break even was achievable every week, absolute madness. Poole, aside, how many other teams in the Championship hit those kind of numbers?
  9. They are due to announce more on Tuesday so hopefully much more clarity after that. They can hardly announce too much more regarding fixtures until then.
  10. Think a pay cap at NDL would be a great idea. No problem with Eastbourne and other 'bigger' NDL clubs on an even playing field. As riders at that level are essentially part time then most fixtures can be held at weekends, which helps crowds in most locations.
  11. Very fair point. When Eastbourne won NDL/KOC a few years I was just as happy as if we'd won the top league. It really doesn't matter what league you're in as such, as there is no promotion/relegation, you just try and win that league. The moral of the story is stay in the league that won't bankrupt you!
  12. Having been to many tracks across the country and watching speedway for many moons I don't think the Eagles could do much more than they do already with social media, fan engagement etc..Some clubs are stuck too much in the past but don't think Eastbourne can be accused of this. There's always plenty of youngsters in the crowd. We don't get to see the balance sheets, rider costs, effect of Covid etc so am sure Jordan and co thought they would have a manageable business. Be interesting to see what they say over the next day or two. Let's be honest, sports teams of varying types often run at a technical loss but are subsidised by wealthy owners/sponsors, however Speedway rarely has that luxury so the margin between success and failure is tight.
  13. Accept that this year NDL has been a bit stop start however with Newcastle and Birmingham experiencing problems this year then a stronger NDL next season may be worth considering for Briitish Speedway.
  14. Fair play, yes Poole do but there won't be too many others I'd suggest.
  15. You know things are bad if Eastbourne are struggling as they have a reputation (rightly) as a well-run club that pay their riders on time and a modern club that utilise social media etc well. Having said that, the new promotion must be mad if they're running off an 800-900 break even mark. Even the best-suppirted Championship clubs don't get much more than 1000 so that's a very risky tightrope to walk. Hopefully the club will stagger through and rejoin an improved NDL next season, which is very sustainable and plenty of fun.
  16. Preferred the days of NDL when run by Connor Dugard. Good fun, loads of youngsters and low running costs.
  17. Attendances haven't been too bad usually 700-1000 depending on opponents.
  18. Can only see a Lions victory here but you never know...
  19. Has anyone got the radio link for this? Can't find a working one.
  20. Think it'll still be close. Shanes rides Arlington well as a general rule. Ellis would have been the potential match winner I think as he knows the track inside out and is in great form. Newman is a big loss as has been consistent and Brennan is a big miss.
  21. Is it not on radio tonight? Can't find a working link.
  22. Is it likely to be a ban from just Denmark or is it further afield too? Btw, thanks for all your Euro (Particularly Polish) info Racers & Royals, I watch a lot of it on youtube etc and your ticket info when a went to Wroclaw for a league match a few years ago was invaluable!
  23. Eastbourne have their critics regarding the difficult track etc however they're one of the most forward-thinking promotions out there. When Connor Dugard started running things when they dropped to the NDL they really embraced social media and generally engaged with younger fans to build the fanbase, with a bigger sense of community, and this has been carried on by the current promotion, always looking to innovate. Couple that with Kevin Coombes' excellent mic-work and mainly modern music, the whole operation has a good feel about it. No disrespect to the late great Bob Dugard and Jon Cook, but they were slightly more traditional in their approach. Anyone who visits Arlington regularly would see the perception of speedway as the preserve of the ancient fan armed with a flask and enamel badges changed, as there's always plenty of youngsters at the track. As regards the Glasgow match, another good turn out given the concerns about the weather, and the pocket of Glasgow fans on the 2nd bend backed their team well. The downpour just before heat 1 made the track tricky and the Tigers were much better out the gate. After heat 9, I couldn't see the Eagles turning round an 8 point deficit to be fair but they did and all credit to them. Some sour grapes by some on the thread I think, but the Tigers just faded a bit in the last few heats as the pressure was turned up. The score would have probably been closer had Bailey got off the track when the Eagles were on a 5-1 (of course that turned into a 3-3, the law of sod), however these things happen. Yes, the Lawson move on Ostergaard in Heat 15 was hard, but certainly not dirty and Tom did well to hold off Craig Cook. Another good, feisty atmosphere (was commented on by Sam Masters when Edinburgh visited) and overall good meeting with an exciting end. If Kennett can get sorted then think the Eagles will be there or thereabouts come play off time, would make Leicester favourites given the Anderson signing, with Glasgow, Poole, Edinburgh and Scunthorpe a threat too.
  24. Big fan myself but understand not everyone's cup of tea. Still banging in really good scores in Poland and was a pleasure to watch for Eastbourne. Plenty of other hard riders out there (Lindgren springs to mind) but think it's amplified by Nicki's character. If you hear him interviewed and talk to many riders in his peer group he's actually a really decent bloke, just a tough little so and so on the track. As was said on a previous post, if we had a few more Nickis in speedway then it would certainly increase crowd numbers, love him or hate him, he's box office.
