  1. Bobbin' Although we like to blame the BSPA for most things speedway related, I think you'll find that it is the FIM who are responsible for the stoopid rule book. And if I can paraphrase Middlo (Sky Sports) "thank you God for intervening in the track preparation". Best racing this GP season TST
  2. They did show Freddie on the phone to the ref.... unfortunately for us Messrs Tantrum and Mallard decided to talk over Freddies side of the conversation TST
  3. To my mind was quite definately Dribble at fault.... he had his elbow on Freddie's neck, I also think the fact that Freddie was still in some sort of control of his bike by the time Dribble fell off is quite telling TST
  4. I personally don't believe that the slickness of the track had anything to do with it, it was the ruts that caused the problems, however I don't deny that man-made tracks perform less well than tracks used on a regular basis. TST
  5. trav took a really nasty fall on the third bend and was unconscious on the track for about 5 mins, regain consciousness on the track and was taken off to hospital for check up. wish him well Well done to Noddy for another superb round TST
  6. Urgent help required, I have a friend who is coming to the GP and hasn't booked a room, have looked online but it would seem that all hotels may be booked up. Its not that close a friendship that sharing my room would be an option, anyone got any ideas, spare rooms, floors all offers and donations gratefully recieved. TST Sorry should have said that the dates are 6th -9th Sep.
  7. Rob, glad you saw that too, I've seen a con rod go and they are quite spectacular, a great explosion of fireworks under the calf as the con rod shoots through the engine casing. I kept shouting at the TV that it couldn't have been a con rod. TST
  8. So that means its not a price freeze then, its a price increase as last year you got the programme as well! Number for trading standards anyone TST
  9. Not sure about Sky, I know that some overseas members subscribe to the Danish channel DK4. Its all in Danish, but at least there is somewhere on the net showing speedway. I'm sure one of our Danish members would provide a translation on how to subscribe. TST
  10. Ticket prices were maintained at last years prices, provided you booked before Xmas, that was announced at the end of last season, (so they had been on sale for a good two months) now if the words "Admin" and "@rrse" are applicable to some people then there is no cause for complaint. Maybe there should be some time delay for each country so as not to impact on crowd levels (maybe shown live in the non host countries, but the weekend after in the host country). Just a thought. Rip off Britain is alive and well, had a taxi driver in Cardiff one year openly admit that if they knew people were in the town for Rugby or other major sporting events that they would up the price on a journey, cos they knew people would pay it. Sad fact of life, if you can make an easy buck at someone elses expense then it will be done TST
  11. Lunchy What time does the meeting start? the Adelaide contingent want to know, I think they might be going. PS Aussie mobile not working in UK, will send txt with UK number Cheers TST
  12. I stayed at the Osterport in 2004, if you don't want to walk then there are buses which pass outside the door to Trianglen and you can then connect with another bus up to the stadium. Oh and if you go into town after the meeting then a taxi back to the hotel costs about £10. (at 3 or 4 in the morning) TST
  13. Huh I've been over that bl@@dy border so many times in the last week I think I have lost a whole day . And whats with the fruit fly thing at the quarantine station.... don't they know these things have wings and can fly!!!. What's the point checking my car for "illegal substances" (fruit) TST PS I found the torch, Will you be needing it for Gillman?
  14. I'm remembering back a few GP years now... wasn't their some kind of controversy about tyres, FIM insisted that these tyres were used and riders said they were dangerous. Is it possible that Ryan's "new" tyre was similar in construction to these "old" ones? TST
  15. Sounds like a brilliant idea to me Gary PM me with a contact number so we can link up, and thanks for the Birthday wishes, just thinking back to last years birthday in the Brda, well there are bits that I can remember, this years celebration is much quieter and much less alcohol fuelled....LOL TST
  16. Make sure you save me a seat at the bar Gary, my flight doesn't arrive till late! TST
  17. Bumping this up as I still have flight hotel and ticket for any one who is interested, but will be cancelling both room and flight on monday 21st august If you are interested then get in touch with me TST
  18. I have a spare seat for sale on Ryanair flight from Stanstead to Bydgoszcz leaving on Fri 22nd Sept and returning on Sun 24th Sept for the GP weekend. The original cost of the flight was £55 return and there is a £45 name change charge. There is also a single room available at the Hotel Brda for the same period. If anyone is interested then PM me with your details and we will speak further. Oh reason for sale, my very selfish friend(lol) decided to emigrate to Australia after she had booked. TST
  19. Where are you trying to book your Swedish tickets Brightonbob? Have you tried booking on the Ticnet site, I booked last year for the GP using this site and they took credit and debit cards and looking at the site this year they take Mastercard and Visa! There is one problem with booking through Ticnet, you have to be careful where the nearest outlet is to collect your prepaid ticket from. In the case of the GP at Eskilstuna the nearest outlet was Vasteras (half an hour drive from E-tuna) and in the case of Malilla the nearest outlets appear to be Linkoping or Jonkoping. My advice would be to get to the stadium on practice day and pick up your ticket there, it worked for us for the recent GP and we had brilliant seats in the Grandstand TST
  20. Think me and the young one are in the same hotel Doctor not sure you will get lucky tho.... TST
  21. TST has already booked her hotel, one advantage of coming out for the Luciaracet in December
  22. Rico - How could I miss an evening drinking with my best buddies Rico, The Doctor and HenryW, I hope they give the barman the day off, as you know last year was a bit of a late one!!!!!! Garypops - I think we must be on the same flight out of Stanstead on Friday.... how many are there in your party? Want to share a taxi to Brda and then onto practice?????. There are two of us going TST
  23. Do bears you know what in the woods???? Of course TST will be there, flight already booked, probably a little less the worse for wear from alcohol this year. Don't forget the usual Hotel BRDA meet on the Friday evening
  24. Same way you did Papa, 0810 from Luton having given up it's seat to Scott Nicholls!! You lie like a cheap japanese watch Papa, it was only in there for 12 hours !!!! It wasn't the fact you went to bed before the 7 yr old, it was the fact that she was drinking beer and still stayed up long after you had gone to bed...... TST
  25. I'm with you on this one Trees, although the live tennis was interesting! Maybe sky will show it in the highlights on Monday ! TST
