Scorpions v Monarchs 27.6.21
Al Stewart replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's almost impossible to believe that no Premiership team has given Josh P a run. I know there's a work permit needed, but when you look at some of the mediocre riders who are in Premiership teams it is just incredible how a true thrillmaker can be ignored. -

That's true but in fact his no-bonus average after 3 home and 2 away is also exactly 4. He'll get his first average by 17th July assuming the meetings go ahead. -

Ah right under 19s. Connor an ex Monarch, he was well liked at Armadale though unpredictable. -
Debut for Adam Ellis makes this an interesting fixture with plenty of solid backup including of course Theo. WHAT THE FORK MONARCHS: Sam Masters (capt.), Nathan Greaves, Kye Thomson, Josh Pickering, Richie Worrall, Joe Lawlor, William Lawson. ATISS SCORPIONS: Adam Ellis, Simon Lambert (capt.), Tero Aarnio, Theo Pijper, Thomas Jorgensen, Josh MacDonald, Connor Coles (guest) As for all Monarchs and Devils meetings, Live Streaming available, details in EMTV on the Monarchs website.

Scorpions sign Adam Ellis
Al Stewart replied to OdsalBoy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The problem with it is the rates of pay. In general the Premiership teams pay much higher points money, so the riders are bound to want to ride for these teams unless the championship teams (with one obvious exception) raise their rates. And that would kill them. -
20.06.2021 3pm - Scorpions v Glasgow plus BYC
Al Stewart replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That's never been the rule. The rule is that if you leave out a rider from your previous year's 1-7 at the start of the year, then try to bring that rider back in later, you need management committee approval. It could be called the "Peter Waite" rule because he made it public that he had left riders out and intended bringing them back. That's when the rule was written. -
STELLAR DEVILS: Nathan Greaves (capt.), Sheldon Davies, Danny Phillips, George Rothery, Tom Woolley, Lewis Millar, Gregor Millar. BELLE VUE COLTS: Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, Ben Woodhull (capt.), Benji Compton, Paul Bowen, Connor Coles, Sam Woolley, Harry McGurk Match available on Live Stream for just £7.99. Details on the Edinburgh or Armadale websites.

Who is the Newcastle team manager?

How does Steve Pate fit into that? -
Edinburgh v Newcastle (KO Cup) Friday 4th June
Al Stewart replied to Al Stewart's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I do think Mr Blobby is being unfair to Newcastle (unusually because he is usually the wisest man on the BSF) because Mountain, Roynon, Clegg and Wethers as well as Wright were all good - too good for all except Masters and Worrall. It's true that we were bad though. -
Teams for Friday's KO Cup tie, 7:30pm: WHAT THE FORK MONARCHS: Sam Masters (capt.), Nathan Greaves, Kye Thomson, Josh Pickering, Richie Worrall, Joe Lawlor, William Lawson. GEC DIAMONDS: Kyle Howarth (Guest), Adam Roynon, Connor Mountain, Max Clegg, Matthew Wethers (capt.), James Wright, Joe Alcock For those who can't attend, the match will be live streamed, details on Monarchs website. First match for Rob Grant's new team, Matthew and Cleggy back on their old track, and indeed Kyle Howarth! I believe there are still a small number of tickets for the match remaining.

Here's something I remember about that inglorious meeting. We were terrible and I remember eg Sean Courtney wheelying during races when at the back. Brett Saunders had been saying that some of the fans' criticism of the team was unfair. For this meeting he was out injured but was there watching from the stand. When I saw him afterwards he said "That was f***ing pathetic!" So he knew how we felt! You also beat us 61-17 in 1978 the day after we had won at Boston. Rob Hollingworth won heat 4 in the fastest time of the night, and the only other points we gained were in the last heat when Newcastle fielded a reserve. That was just as bad as the one mentioned earlier, only shorter.

Edinburgh v Redcar 28th May
Al Stewart replied to Al Stewart's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'm certainly not recommending hiring anyone in, we definitely would not do it at that cost either. There's no need for that level of cost if you have someone who knows what they are doing. Fortunately for Edinburgh they have. -

If you haven't done so already, send details to info@edinburghmonarchs.co.uk and this will be sorted. It certainly wasn't the case with the Live Stream itself. -
Edinburgh v Redcar 28th May
Al Stewart replied to Al Stewart's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's hard to understand why other teams are not doing it. Ours is produced by our own technical wizards with our own equipment, no-one gets paid, so it is extra revenue for the club. Most seem to have enjoyed the stream I've seen one person who had reception issues. -
Ipswich vs Sheffield 27th May
Al Stewart replied to 2ndbendbeerhut's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I might agree with you but how are there going to actually be any guests? A quick glance at June’s fixtures shows that eg on the 7th and 21st there are three matches, ie all six teams are racing. If there are a few injuries it will be impossible to stage some of the matches. -
No thread yet for this match but it looks like a good one to me. Redcar must be one of the strongest sides in the league surely? The limited capacity match tickets are sold out. I would have thought Bears fans would be keen to watch for £11.95 for the Live Stream. You can get it via the Edinburgh website in the EMTV section. I appreciate some will wait to see what the weather is doing. Edinburgh will stream every Armadale match live this season, Monarchs and Devils. At the moment while crowds are limited there is no geographical restriction on where you can watch from.
-
It is hoped that numbers will increase after the first week. Don't give up on it yet.
-
I can assure you Edinburgh will be streaming every meeting this season. Once full crowds are back there will be a geographical restriction. I’m amazed there seem to be so few others doing it.

Is there any possibility of Live Streaming from next Saturday's match at Leicester?

Armadale Devils v Berwick Bullets (Friday 7 May 7.30)
Al Stewart replied to edmon's topic in National League Speedway
Looks like the weather will be OK for tonight's match. A 10 point away defeat suggests a close one at Armadale so I'm expecting an enjoyable evening. Berwick might be slight favourites due to their heat leaders but the Dale Devils might have the most effective reserve. Might, might, might. I know all the riders will be keyed up as much as they ever have been. It's not all about winning in the NDL but winning is nice! Hope it all goes well for all of them. -
Is there a programme or a Live Stream for this event?
