Stoke Sign Bager And Vissing Leaves
foreverblue replied to Rob 3's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It seems judging by the comments on the Stoke site,an un-named elite league team, probably Peterborough, have been refused their new revised line up which means Vissing is now out of work. -
Stoke Sign Bager And Vissing Leaves

Panthers averaging fixing is under way, rides 12 matches for Ipswich, lowers his average, then rides for Stoke just to keep his hand in,now back to Panthers, sounds very dodgy. -
Maybe looking at the replays wouldn't have achieved anything but i believe even the so called experts on the tv said that errors had been made.I'm not advocating cameras at every meeting but when you have the benefit of being able to use them, why wouldn't you. If the play off final referee hadn't used the replays perhaps Lindgren may have been excluded.
-
This discussion was not started by me but by several posters who don't all live in the Poole area and all agreed about some very dubious decisions. If there is doubt and the referee has the benefit of looking at replays, why didnt he.Surely it is unprofessional if the technology is there not to use it.If after looking at replays he still comes to the same decision then fair enough but not to at least look at one replay isnt being fair to either team.
-
I didn't say that if a referee made a couple of mistakes they should be sacked and i am not just looking at this from a biased point of view as i have been to many meetings where my team was not involved and the standard of some referees seems to be not as good as it should be. Also it is my understanding that mr Robinson has a history of dubious or blatently wrong decisions and if that is the case then surely his competence must come into question. I understand that it may only be a part time job and they largely do it for the love of the sport but there still has to be an element of accountability and has any referee been stood down after assessment.
-
But in those other soprts the referee has to answer his actions but in speedway it is never questioned,i believe a premier league referee was demoted to championship football matches after a match where he made several mistakes.
-
No its not an over the top notion as its not the first time,if i did a bad job over and over again i would expect to be sacked.
-
The bottom line is the referee was a joke and should be sacked, incompetence like this makes the sport look ridiculous. Still i expect he will referee a gp soon no doubt.

You seem to be in a minority, alot of people have posted the meeting was very good at all.Very pleased for Zorro.I didsnt go because it was just not good value,You dont have to pay 60 quid for cardiff, you can get in for half that and the atmosphere is fantastic and the racing wasnt bad last year either, the elrc is cheaper with more races and a better line up. -

Agreed, that was my opinion, looked forward to it until they announced the prices, better line up in the elrc for less money. My top three would be Lindgren,Holder,Harris. -

Cant see it being a great meeting, too many races with top riders against also rans,i probably would have gone if it was 20 quid but 25 just seems too much. -

Just tell them your kids are 14,its ridiculous to expect parents of 15 year olds to pay adult price. In my opinion their should be a tiered structure to pricing,under11,11-18,18-25,then adult. -

How can you call it gp class when half the riders are nowhere near gp class. Its not just the venue its the quality of rider.25 quid is way over the top. -

foreverblue replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If the promotion want more people there they need to price it accordingly, perhaps they should price it when the line up is known,as far as im concerned i wont be going because its not value for money, the elrc is a much better line up for less money and the world cup was even less for 25 heats of great racing. -

You cant compare coventry stadium with the millenium stadium, when your setting prices the venue has to be considered. The class of rider in the gp challenge isnt better than the elrc so it should be the same price,in fact the standard in the challenge is worse,so if anything it should be cheaper than the elrc. -

But this meeting isnt value for money is it,went to world cup at peterborough 15 quid, elrc 20quid,british gp 29 quid there all better value and the racing at the gp and wc was very good. -
Didnt see the meeting but it seems to me they benefited more from having Hampel in the joker race, rather than the extra 2 points, then the aussies blew it by having a last in the penultimate race.I appreciate the joker doesnt appeal to the purists but it does generate excitement.I always thought you could only play the joker on a programmed rider.

Kings Lynn Track Prep
foreverblue replied to Mitchell Brothers's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well im not sure why the Kings Lynn track is so different now,its not just the riders because when the elite riders was there a couple of years ago it was boring to say the least, but when they rode in the elite league it was known as the best race track of all and nobody complained it wasnt fair and away riders enjoyed riding there. -

I thought it was a terrific meeting and the poles, there just great arnt they. What an advert for speedway in this country, miles better than last year.I stood on the backstraight surrounded by poles and what an atmosphere they generate.I would also congratulate the organisation, although one or two more food and drink outlets would have been good.On the racing, the poles were just superb and i dont remember Miedinski riding like that before when he rode for Swindon. -
Gb World Cup Team
foreverblue replied to DarrenCook's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Its a shame that we have a world cup roung in this country and we dont get to see our best riders, because if Rico can beat Adams at Swindon,he must be going very well and should have been included.King maybe an ex panther but hes not in the same class and has no chance of getting many points.
