Poole V Kings Lynn - Wednesday 3rd June.
foreverblue replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It will have some bearing as there are points at stake. -
I think you mean heat 7 as he wasn't in heat 5 but he picked up extra unwanted grip which could happen in any meeting, in my view totally different to garrity who falls off in most meetings! Holder in heat 10 i agree was due to conditions, no idea why he was going so fast with no one against him.
-
It was light rain to start with, the start line looking a bit muddy which may have been to protect the track at that point, most riders struggled out of gate 2 no idea why. It has to be said that Coventry had no luck especially Danny King and the meeting went our way but the track seemed to hold up well and Kylmakorpi made a good pass on Janowski in heat 6 but after that the rain got worse and at that stage it was never likely to be called off with so few races left, if we still had to do 12 races to get a result then maybe it would have ended differently.Despite his horrific injuries at Coventry Holder didn't seem to be worried by the conditions.
-
No they didn't, Didn't see either of them ride into their team mate or break the tapes or come down on their own.
-
My point of view is,normally with the forecast and the band of rain predicted to be in coventry early evening it would not have started but once started unless it absolutely hammered it down it was always going to be a result. The times were slower as you would expect but the crashes in the later heats were mainly down to garrity not the track
-
I was there too and it wasn't really heavy until later in the meeting, in fact it did stop a couple of times briefly.

That's funny i suppose as Porsing is there worst rider in the top five and now they can get a decent guest or track specialist! -
I think you will find track prep will be how Poole like on wednesday.
-
Holder has also tweeted that his meeting in Sweden is also off, a bit early to call it off don't you think!!
-
He wasn't allowed!! Isn't it up to Coventry who calls it off, what can sky do? threaten to not film them? If this was at Poole and Matt Ford wanted it called off what do you think would happen? Weak Coventry management.

If we win this meeting do we go top on points difference? -
As i am one of the idiots who decided to go last night and regretted it, my view is that the meeting shouldn't have started and Coventry should have made a early decision to tell everyone including sky that the track was unfit with rain forecast all afternoon and evening, the fact that the real heavy rain didn't arrive until the meeting was well under way is in my view irrelevant and to charge 18 pounds when we all knew it would only last until heat 10 if it got that far is robbing the public which is part of the reason why very few bothered to turn up. The meeting itself was predictably very poor with only really a couple of actual races, everything that could go wrong for Coventry did, mostly due to Garrity who is a bit wild at times and the luckless Danny King. as someone who has always had the greatest respect for Havvy i must say i was disappointed with his actions which has showed him in a poor light. once the meeting got to heat 9 they were always going to run heat 10, if havvy thought he could change that scenario he must be mad. To make matters worse they don't serve food at the Roseycombe on a monday!!
-
Its dry in the roseycombe bit gutted they dont do food on a monday!!
-
i am finding it hard to believe this meeting is on and i am finding it hard to believe i am risking it to go to a meeting that is not around the corner and will probably get rained off !!

Harris is terrific at Poole usually and Josh G is in good form so two good guests. To think Kings Lynn were moaning there wern't any decent guests available the other day! -
Harris loves bad conditions, the year he won British Gp the track was very bumpy and really attacked it where others were afraid of it.

I would say the racing at peterborough is generally better than kings lynn, the swc should be at peterborough in my opinion, great track, good facilities. -

I think you should regret not going personally as it was a decent meeting with good racing in almost every heat, it was a bit annoying they had an interval but i think that was mainly for Rory's collection which i hope they got a substantial amount for him, we tend to forget sometimes what risks these guys take. -
I feel with back to form holder unless he cant get the coventry crash out of his head should be good for double figures, janowski is going well, not sure about gomolski but north should be good, just need watt to be dropped for shamek. If watt rides were toast.

There wasn't much point in putting Newman in really was there, he had just been passed by Lambert in there previous meeting, it was a long shot he might do something, at least he tried. watt isn't trying to lower his average he is just crap now which is what i said before the season started.
