You are assuming he supports a team or supported a team that is now defunct. As for the pensioner comment that is because he thinks most people who live in Dorset are pensioners but as you say a lot of speedway fans are on the older side.

Yes never the same after that, I asked him about it a couple of seasons ago and he thought at the time walking again might be difficult let alone riding again. One of those occasions where the whole crowd goes quiet.

Especially as Belle Vue not usually one of his favourite tracks

If he was getting one or two points I doubt he would be sacked, he was getting zero unless a breakdown happened and yes Foord got zero in his first meeting but he looked more likely to score and one or two points in a tight meeting may make all the difference. I think if you have a chance to improve the team you do it every time.

Yes that is true, no idea why the track was like it was last night, havent seen a blue groove for years. It certainly didn't help us and our riders seemed to be caught out. Edwards seems to have improved lately and made a couple of decent passes early on and the only interesting thing was the fluctuating scoreline which was worrying for most of the meeting.

I think he could be a good rider in the future but just not yet.

That is not the point, if there is a chance of strengthening the team even if it looks the best already then you take that opportunity.
