Poole vs Glasgow 2/7/25
foreverblue replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes I think the scoreline often is as important as the actual racing as it keeps the meeting interesting. When we lose at home it seems far more interesting for the average viewer on tv. -

I watched the Oxford meeting on tv last night and although there did not seem to be much material on the track it seemed to produce a decent meeting racing wise so is it the apparent lack of material at Poole the problem? Surely if just more material produced better racing then it would be done. -

The track was prepared to suit the home riders, how novel!! there was a crowd which most teams can only dream of and Glasgow were outridden, outgated and outclassed. -

While it is true Poole does not have a top football team Bournemouth does have a premier league team which is a very short distance away and I think there are many fans that go to both. -
Belle Vue v Ipswich Monday 30th June
foreverblue replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The reason Belle Vue are successful at home is because of home advantage, every team has home Advantage it is not something that needs defending. -

I think this will be close, last heat decider is on the cards. Belle Vue have the best top two in the league currently but Ipswich clearly have the strength in depth and their reserves are clearly head and shoulders above Belle Vue's, King and especially Brennan are strong riders but I think Ellis will struggle against Lidsey who has been going well. The issue at the moment is a few Ipswich riders are struggling with injuries or have just returned from injury, for that reason I expect it will be close. -
How many handles and heads has the old broom had?

If they insist on Mondays and Thursdays it may be a problem but I don't see why they can't race Wednesdays and If it was one league then a compromise may have to be reached. I very much doubt we would have too many top riders here anymore.

Why wouldn't the interests of Poole come first as I would expect the interests of Kings Lynn to come first in Buster Chapman's agenda.
