I don’t think you’ll find Tungate particularly exciting. Harris & Wright both entertainer’s. The jury is open on Magic. -

Who knows but I very much doubt it. unless a rider is under contract with a club legally he can’t be deemed an asset. Hence riders ride wherever they want regardless of which club claims them as an ‘asset’ The asset system is an in-house speedway thing if tested legally it would collapse. -

This Oxford side is full of question marks. Magic will he still be the Magic that was at Poole 8 years ago or will he be more like a KK or Laguta. Wright coming back from a bad injury without the wide open spaces of B.V. to get his confidence back could struggle. Before anyone says anything I’ve always liked Wright an out & out racer. Harris, well you know what your going to get a great team man who is still a proven heat leader. Great if tracks are rough will always get stuck in. Tungate, as an Ipswich supporter I can only say hugely frustrating. Has bags of talent & ability however has never really fulfilled it. With his gating gloves on you won’t get near him. However if he misses the start or is tight situations always seems to come off 2nd best. Klint, was poor at the start of last season & really started to hit some form. One of the best visiting riders I’ve seen at Ipswich & he can gate. My concern is the injury he is coming back from. The two reserves I agree Kerr is probably the best reserve in the league as thing’s currently stand & Ashton is probably one of the best talents in his age group anywhere. -

Because he doesn’t care & doesn’t want to promote Peterborough speedway. The ridiculous part of all this is had he put some effort in last winter or earlier this year to find out all that now come out about AEPG he may have found it easier to sell the club as undoubtedly Speedway could have continued at the showground -
Team Predictions 2024
cowboy cookie returns? replied to Falcon1983's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Probably not but Ipswich need riders to improve next year & King could quite easily slide back a little. If I was putting the team together that’s the 7 I’d have. We’ll see how close I get. -

Not sure about the rest but Ipswich Emil 10.10 Ellis 5.56 Brennan 5.87 Wojdylo 5.00 Doyle 9.10 Rew 4.00 D. Thompson -
Emil took about three months to sort out however we all know that was because of international politics & clearly a one off. Getting the paperwork for Laguta & Tarensenko to ride here was much faster. They even managed to get Tarensenko clearance to double up within a week. All the hard work with Emil was getting though the red tape. I don’t think it will take that long to get rider clearance again unless Louis is trying to sign a North Korean lol

I can see Danny moving on for two reasons. Firstly after years of waiting he has finally lifted a trophy as Witches skipper. Secondly there isn’t any improvement left & he could quite easily drop back to his pre August form. He has had two bad patches of form over the past couple of years. If they put that team out I’d expect the Pole to be stronger away from home for sure. Even if Danny is back Doyle needs to be skipper much more of a team player in my mind. Danny’s decision to go for gates one & three at Sheffield is still one of the most bizarre decisions I’ve seen.

I think 5 are spot on, including Wojdylo. I have a feeling it could look something like Emil 10.10 Ellis 5.56 Brennan 5.87 Wojdylo 5.00 Doyle 9.10 Rew 4.00 D. Thompson we need riders with plenty of improvement & Ellis, Brennan & Wojodyo gives you far more than having King & Lambert. Thats if I’ve worked the British reduction out correctly I also expect Rew to kick on as well.

But these days with all the doubling up & guesting is that really an issue? After all when on this forum someone criticises the sport the standard reply is look beyond the team aspect & just enjoy the racing. To keep the sport & the league going until Wolves can return just guest support Birmingham for a year

That’s great a real positive step, hopefully it will provide something far better than the old what the fans think page on the British speedway site. Just for old times & a laugh here is my favourite……. From the first race it became obvious that, despite this being a testimonial, the riders meant business. As they jostled for position around the tight bends, every sinew straining to keep control of the sliding back wheels, the crowd roared on their favourite, struggling to be heard over the deep growl of the engines. The blur of sound and colour, as they passed only yards away, was replaced by the one sensation that, for me, made the whole experience real. The exhaust fumes from the methanol fuel forced their way up my nostrils and left an overpowering but not unpleasant lingering smell reminiscent of cooking oil. It was at this point that I felt a connection with my fellow spectators, as if I had just experienced some rite of passage, which no amount of armchair viewing could bestow upon -

Harris riding for Oxford in both league’s would make sense, at least he wouldn’t appear as a guest against them.
