In Poland they do get help from the local authorities but then Poland does like to invest in amenities & the local communities unlike the uk. However I’m not sure they would get the level of support from the local councils etc if it was ran as a Micky mouse sport like the uk. I’m pretty convinced that if the sport was run properly in the UK & got some half decent media coverage & decent attendance levels the likes of Peterborough, Coventry, wolves would still be going.

Thankfully looks like the fire was in a workshop & not the main stadium.

Reading all the negativity on here around this match admittedly around the Lynn team does make me wonder. kings Lynn have had poor sides for the last few seasons coupled with the various off track issues & rather bizarre postponements. It’s like Buster doesn’t give a toss & I fully expect he will throw his toys out of the pram in October & pull Lynn out of league speedway & put it up for sale. The ironic thing is he is reaping the fruits of his time as chairman of the BSPA. Ive got my enthusiasm back for speedway over the last couple of seasons at Ipswich it’s been a joy to watch. It’s a shame that the sport as a whole isn’t run as professionally & as slick as Ipswich we might be in a better place. I fully intend to enjoy the rest of this season with Emil & Co & as much as I hope I’m wrong I can’t see the leagues being in a strong enough place next year for Emil to return. I really do fear for the future of this once great sport…….as for Thursday 60-30

The whole situation is with Toby is an odd one, however with employment law regardless of speedway regulations I can’t see how anyone can prevent him earning a living? Toby doesn’t return to the Kings Lynn team after injury for whatever reason. He is then deemed to be withholding his services & receives a 28 day ban that’s fair enough. He is then released from his contract meaning that under employment law he is free to find a new employer. However he is prevented from doing so because even though he has been released from his contract, he has to remain declared in Kings Lynns 1-7 until they can sign a replacement. I’d love to see this get tested legally as it wouldn’t stand up & Toby would be free to sign for another club if that’s what he wished to do. He either has to be contracted & a declared team member or not contracted & therefore not declared. we don’t know the full story perhaps he doesn’t want to return to the uk this year & it’s all smoke & mirrors. Or perhaps he had enough of the circus that is kings Lynn speedway who knows.

I’m not too concerned about the result, our home form will hopefully see us remain unbeaten at Foxhall & we go really well at Oxford. It was always going to a tough with out the Leicester track specialist Dan. In terms of of the track Leicester is like Foxhall consistently slated by away fans & some riders however those with true riding ability like Emil seem to have no issues. The only concern I have going forward is not replacing Doyle as that will scupper us in the play offs & the KO cup final. Nicholls is an Ipswich legend & in many ways it feels like he has come home this year…..almost a full time witch. However as good as he is at Foxhall to win the league we need a much stronger rider at Sheffield & Belle Vue as it’s clear we will need to beat at least one of those in the playoffs to take the title. We already know we have to go to Sheffield to retain the cup. -
If the will is there it would be interesting to test that legally. Regardless of the reasons a rider is released from his contract but can’t move elsewhere to earn a living as he has to remain declared in a team where he is no longer under contract. Only is speedway & highly illegal I would have thought.

I think that was 1990 but could be wrong!

Belle Vue 2024

I’m not sure what Kurtz has done wrong here? If he has made a come back for his Polish side & then withdrawn through a reoccurrence of the injury & hasn’t ridden since in Poland clearly he isn’t fit. Nothing to defend here it’s common sense really. now if he rides in Poland with no issues & then misses another Belle Vue fixture that’s a different story. -
