Lucky over a 13 year period that's some doing! As for winning the league 3 times and 4 knock out cups I think it was. -

In the old NL of the 80s each team had a junior side. In times of injury rider replacement or promotion of a junior to the starting 7 was used. In the event of more than one rider being injured then a member of the junior side and rider replacement was used. Unfortunately because the sport can't run and govern it's self in a professional manner that system was never built on. In the short term yes using unattached riders or rider replacement must be the way to go. Would it massively affect attendance levels? I don't think it would it's down to the hardcore like yourself who will turn up whatever. Borrowing riders from other teams in the form of the guest system to keep teams strong has done far more to damage & reduced attendances far more than having a junior in the team ever would. -

Very true, what about this. A newbie goes to Oxford as they have just reopened. Away on a business trip hears about Belle Vue so pops along only to find one of Oxford's riders lining up for the opposition in the top division then on their way home stops of at Birmingham to find the same Oxford rider guesting for Birmingham. Then nips to Ipswich to see that same rider guesting for Ipswich against Belle Vue. You couldn't make it up!!! Welcome to the professional British speedway leagues -

The alternative is for the powers that be to come up with something credible, something that they have failed to do for decades. However there was a time in national League speedway where guests were not allowed, so it can be done. -

To be honest a rider only doing home meetings wouldn't be the most ridiculous thing about UK speedway! -

With the rumour mill suggesting a UK return for Woffinden shame we didn't dig deep and make him a offer in place of Batchelor -

Why does everyone blame Chapman? The sport was on a downward spiral long before he took control. The collective BSPA did nothing with the sky money to improve & grow the sport in the UK. I'm not Chapman's or Godfrey's biggest fan however I think who ever was in charge over the past decade things would be similar. The result of years of mismanagement. -

I'm not sure it was pessimistic, pretty close to the mark to be honest. Worrying that even when the golden ticket did arrive a year or so later nothing was done with it. A remake of this documentary now would be be interesting. -

And still it slides further into the abiss -
BSI did try don't they taking the GPs to Norway, Australia,New Zealand possibly even Finland? This country's all have some form of speedway competition already there so no matter how small at least some sort of cure support. I remember Prince Albert of Monaco being present at one of the early Cardiff GPs with a veiw of taking one to Monaco. Nothing ever happened to that idea. Not sure they failed but have maybe shown the limitations of speedways appeal. Can't sell out Cardiff and can't financially support rounds in the mentioned countries. Lets see how the new promotion gets on.

In Doyle we probably have the best rider in the league, however massive question marks over the rest. Riss,Heeps & Batchelor are they on the slide or did they generally have bad seasons last year. If we get the pre 2021 version of those riders we'll be in the mix however if we have the 2021 version of those riders we're in trouble. The stars are in a similar position the if the 2021 version of Pickering & Lawson turn up and Kildermann rides as he did when last in the UK you'll be fine. However if Pickering struggles to adapt to number one status Lawson returns to the 5.50 to 6 point man from previous years and Kildermann doesn't produce the expected form you to are in trouble. Peterborough I expect to be there or there abouts but again Alot depends on oystercard. Sheffield I would have as favourites at the moment although Cook could cause problems. Belle Vue haven't named a full side yet & Wolves do look weak. It all depends on if all these riders on so called bargain averages improve or are they at their level? Massive question marks around all the teams but as I say Sheffield seem to stand out. It's going to be very unpredictable and I fully expect several odd results it's going to be a league of inconsistencies.

I can't believe people are asking why not Musielek, how many times in the past have we had problems with poles missing meetings or not putting the effort in -

He had a poor season at Sheffield, it didn't work out so no surprise he didn't stay. Was never going to Peterborough they couldn't fit him with their teams plans, had a falling out with Lynn years ago so that's the reason half the club's wouldn't sign him. That leaves 3 Clearly wouldn't fit at wolves, Belle Vue thought they had signed him before he joins us. To be honest I think Sheffield are taking a gamble on Cook given how he has been performing. -

Well well so much negativity on here. We have the best number one in the league & quite possibly the two best reserve's never mind who is riding there. After the season Batchelor has I can understand where the concern with him comes from bit riding with Doyle should get him going again. Heeps is Heeps good at home should be ok. Riss is a far better rider than his current average. The comparison with Sheffield well they are taking huge risks toomWe had cook here last season and based on that is a massive risk I'm glad he isn't back. As for Muesilak I'm not sure about all the hype could be as much of a gamble as Cook, Heeps or Batchelor. We have had plenty of poles down the years and to be honest only Gollob has ever really worked out. Hample used to go missing and the rest including Miskowiak never hit the heights. -

This must already be known, otherwise how can you sign riders on contacts when not knowing when they are required to ride & for how many meetings for your club?
