  1. I agree! I watched the hundred on tv the other night the thing looked very modern. Even the graphics on screen were far to hip for cricket!
  2. It’s more a frustration thing with King, yes he scores & his average is fine. However he goes missing when you really need him. He has been on the wrong end of heat advantages to the opposition 7 times in heat 12 this year at home & does have habit of throwing points away under pressure.
  3. But as Laguta has found out it may not have the host of big stars but British speedway isn’t easy……it’s a far different proposition to the full throttle of Poland. If this season has shown anything it’s probably that Emil is the most naturally gifted technical rider at the moment.
  4. Not matter what the opinion is on here one thing is certain we all want speedway to get a grip & sort itself out. The comments on here have become more negative & I’ll include myself in that. The negativity is however in-line with the on going line of decline that the sport is witnessing. It’s all very well saying get a grip it’s a great sport go & watch it but the reality is those who are willing to do that is declining at an every faster rate. I used to genuinely love my speedway & I had my rose tinted specs on for years. My watershed moment came about 15 years ago when the rules were changed mid season around the elite league play offs. In a heart beat I went from attend every week to 4 or 5 times a season, when I finally got fed up with the ever increasing number of riders missing meetings, the guest fest & out of control doubling up. This saw me stop attending all together, although the past couple of years I have gone once or twice as a night out to catch with with the group who used to go to speedway. From the age of 10 though to 32 Speedway was my sport Ipswich my team, however I lost interest in the sport & my emotional attachment to my team because of the reasons above. This year I have been to Foxhall more times than since 2009 the reason is the racing has been good in the main & the Emil factor. However it’s a night out I don’t attend as a passionate Ipswich fan because I can’t get that level of attachment any longer hence can’t see myself being a regular again. on the flip side the way Ipswich is ran & presented gives an insight into how speedway could look given half a chance.
  5. If it’s a crap meeting it’s a crap meeting you can’t spin that. Having a commentator saying how good it is would be far worse, it’s up to those in charge to ensure the product is something that excites & people want to watch no some half baked propaganda from the commentators. it would be like something from escape to victory!
  6. No idea however Emil certainly seems to be very happy at Ipswich, hopefully the league structure & club finances allow him to return next year.
  7. Still certainly answered the question of who is the better rider Emil or Artem, Emil by a country mile.
  8. But if the commentator praised the track & said how good it was then any new comer would think how bad is the sport on a poor track. Can’t blame the guy for speaking the truth, far better than the Eurosport line of a large crowd in tonight then only to pan round to see one man & his dog in attendance!
  9. I’d keep Riss in all honesty if Hans was the only option. was the transfer window closed on July 31st of is it still open? Seems to be some confusion.
  10. So are we going to stick with what we have for the remainder of the season? Deadline day on Monday.
  11. 7 times in 12 home meetings heat 12 has seen a heat advantage to the away team. He was evening on the wrong end of a heat 12 1-5 v Kings Lynn
  12. And Ipswich probably gets the best average attendances in the uk during the regular season.
  13. And the number of times he rides the wrong lines especially at home on a track where he has spent so much of his career. Also does have the habit of dropping vital points when the chips are down. the number of times we have said before the tapes go up King will mess this up & doesn’t normally disappoint.
  14. Personally I wouldn’t have King in there far to frustrating & goes missing when you need him in key heats
  15. So if the league structure in 2024 allows & the finances allow how about a side based around Emil Doyle Rew Terasanko just need Terasanko to miss a couple of Peterborough meetings to keep his 5.00 average & Doyle to have another couple of off nights. Doyle as skipper no Danny, however if Riss carries on his current form would you take a punt on him on a sun 5 average?
  16. If the league set up allows I think there is a good chance he’ll be back, certainly appears to be enjoying it.
  17. I don’t know, Hawkins is back as team manager tonight so you need to factor that in
  18. Did I read somewhere that in a recent podcast Louis did he said Emil had asked about returning next year? If that’s true that’s one piece of good news
  19. The 16 Lapper a great event. It was the catalyst to the superb 98 season when a certain Mr Gollob rode Foxhall for the first time. Also gave me a chance to see my hero the cowboy a couple more times long after his days as a Witch.
  20. No idea to be honest but it’s a shame. I suspect different reasons to those why Rowe & Kemp weren’t used as the rising star.
  21. How we could do with Nicholls in the team right now
  22. https://ipswichwitches.co/raceday-report-ipswich-44-46-belle-vue-sports-insure-premiership-r2-h/ interesting that it’s Louis & not Hawkins offering his thoughts on last night.
  23. Trouble is he goes missing at key times like last night, and rides lines at Foxhall that are clearly not working.
