  1. It’s been postponed until the weekend. When they arrived they found the hotel had been doubled booked by a polish stag party. Apparently they were told that the polish have priority on Wednesday, Thursday’s & Friday’s. If that wasn’t bad enough they then found out that the hotel staff don’t want to work at weekends so they will have to bring in guests to cover but there is a shortage because some are already doubling up at a hotel around the corner.
  2. Perhaps Chris Harris could double up for both? Or has he already signed for Glasgow?
  3. I don’t get why MT is given a hard time. It’s perfectly possible that the figure the club was up for sale for last winter coupled with cost of developing any new site made it unviable. Or there was/is no guarantee of finding a new site. As a business man either of those scenarios would make it impossible to go ahead with a purchase as it makes the club almost worthless from a financial point of view. As an individual would you have brought a house last November that you knew was going to be demolished the following October that would then have zero value. I’m not knocking the efforts to keep your great club going I wish you all the best.
  4. Was indeed although he was an Ipswich rider at the time,
  5. I’d prefer if you could have any of you top 5 ride in any order, bring back some team tactics.
  6. Just realised I’d put my thoughts for the Ipswich team in the Belle Vue section…..I do apologise
  7. Let’s get silly as we have no idea of a points limit. But given it’s a dead cert top 2 of Emil & Doyle & Rew needs to start at reserve Something along the lines of Emil 5 point overseas King Ellis Doyle Rew Thompson

  9. Fully agree needs to be back as skipper. I was one of King’s critics last season however in the last 6 weeks he did make us critics eat our words to a certain extent. In fact I’m not against him returning I just think Doyle would make the better skipper.
  10. Emil is just pure class! I see he has just committed to Toruń for the next two years hopefully his signature is either on or about to be on an Ipswich 24 contract.
  11. So Brennan has been released by Belle Vue, could be a handy addition at Foxhall possibly in place of Riss depending on the points limit
  12. If people want Peterborough speedway to survive then the only place to be is at the protest not the speedway show. A high turn out with plenty of noise is vital, a poor turn out & that plays right into the developers hands. Good luck to all involved
  13. As we’re now in November I wonder how long we’ll need to wait to find out the regulations for team building & when the first signings will be announced?
  14. And Chris Harris could guest for any of the top 5 so a perfect team!
  15. I think people are looking for riders who should vastly improve next year to slot in alongside Jason, Emil @ Danny. on paper Ellis is that man. Not sure why he left Ipswich before but doesn’t really matter it’s history. Being in the same team as Jason & Emil in a track that he normally goes well at should help him bounce back. Ellis is a Ipswich type of rider imo
  16. I agree with some of that. The play off final at Sheffield did show our weekness, however the choice of gates to go 1 & 3 was bonkers. Emil & Doyle of gate 3 is their opening riders when 3 was clearly the worse gate & everyone on the TV seemed to agree. The interesting thing is that a few weeks on no one seems to be talking about winning the cup or playoff defeat it’s about entertainment. Anyone I’ve spoken too talks about the atmosphere the entertainment provided & the feel good factor Emil & Jason have brought. it’s almost as long as we’re not getting thumped the entertainment & atmosphere is more important that winning a title. For that reason I’m quite happy to have the top two back. The crowds were good this year & held up well even when we had the mid season wobble.
  17. Lidsey’s progress this year surely has more to do with his 3 years riding in Poland more than having Belle Vue as a home track? I’m pretty confident & would certainly hope that Rew will be back at Ipswich. Belle Vue isn’t for everyone Doyle struggled with it this year at time, Nicholls couldn’t get on with it & it doesn’t appeared to have made Brennan kick on.
  18. My thinking with Rew is based around the following. It was his first season in the uk, getting used to new tracks & all the adjustments that go with stating somewhere new. All that after a disrupted winter due to his serious injury. His performances in Poland & SGP 2 suggests that the boy has talent. We’ll worth another shot. Hume I really like as a rider gives 100% all the time & clearly has a lot of passion. My concern with Hume is that giving the amount of experience he has at Foxhall he does give away a lot of points though errors & I can’t see much improvement in him. Out of the two you have to go with Rew, although as I’ve said if there is no rising star then I’d have the pair of them at reserve. if the rising star scheme is kept it’s got to be one of Dan Thompson, Jason Edwards or Jack Smith for me all battlers.
  19. I think if the points limit & rising star stays the same then I think there will be possibly 2 changes. Riss because he does seemed to have lost his ability to Mix it & Hume for no other reason then to have Rew start the season at reserve. If the limit is increased & rising star is dropped then I still think Riss will go to be replaced with a stronger rider but then I see Rew & Hume at reserve. I can’t see any reason why Rew would be going anywhere despite people linking him with Belle Vue
  20. Totally agree, it’s been the best I’ve known it since 89/90 better than 98. its got me back as a regular this year for the first time in 15 years or so.
  21. Not 6 man teams, I didn’t like that when they tried it for one season, stick to 7
