  1. Coming over from deepest darkest Dorset for this one. Looking forward to Kyle getting a hatful! To be honest I'll be surprised if the Hornets dont hit 60 tonight. Still you have to admire Mr Bartletts optimism
  2. Many a true word spoken in jest.
  3. This was metioned to me at the Buccs v Buxton meeting. I asked why the objection to Wright. I was told the reason and also told that if Chris signed for a Premier team we would have to look for a new no 1.
  4. Cheers BOSS. Will probably give it a go next time I come down.
  5. What time is the cafe open until?
  6. Agree with you Gemini. I thought so long as they hadn't been lapped pushing home for a point was fine.
  7. I was in the glass stand watching the Sky replays. Robinson (he doesn't deserve to be called the ref) had the blue light on before Sky had re played the incident. You could clearly see that Hougards dirt deflector had hit Doyles front wheel. I feel that he rushed the decision and then didn't have the balls to admit he was wrong. The man is a disgrace.
  8. What a breath of fresh air that was. Just goes to show if you let the local track staff get on with it you get good racing. On a Poole note good debut from Chris Holder and well done Zorro on your first GP race win.
  9. Google translation Fritz Dirtl (1928 - 1956) Promising speedway rider M. Schneeweise student who died early in MS in Oberhausen. Besides the gold helmets, which went on special Schneeweise his mentor, won the title of champion of Austria, long and Short Track, was also successful in road races. What happened to the trophies are still not be detected.
  10. I fully understand your point of view Adder. However it is the Elite League Riders Championship and all the riders named should be at the meeting. Or given the examples of the previous few years meetings just re name it The Whoever Can Be Bothered to Ride Championship.
  11. Interesting comment from the commentator (Lanning?). Ole Olsen the last of an era as now the machinery is starting to become more important than the rider (or something along those lines). How true that comment has turned out to be.
  12. Assuming you are over 21, what you do in the privacy of your own tiny room is your business
  13. previous engagement or not enough money on offer I'd say.
  14. Its a bum job BFD but someones got to do it and I cant think of anyone more qualified I'm off to Sammy Millers and will have a few there if they have a bar.
  15. Why dont you 2 pick your best side. Then decide would you have bet on them to win the meeting (with your own hard earned cash). If after thinking about it your answer is yes i would then I think the bookies will be queuing up to take your bets for the rest of the season! IMO the team on Monday did all that was expected of them and learned some valuable lessons on the way. Putting Lee or Scott in on Monday would not have altered the final result so why not blood the younger riders and acheive the same result?
  16. Hi Dave See you are at Poole on the 8th. Would like to come and say hello. Will pm you my mobile no give me a ring if you fancy a pre or post meeting beer.
  17. Theres talk of Emil having an oversized engine. Anyone heard anything?
  18. Following the meetings on Speedway.nu. What has happened at the Vargana-Vastervik meeting. The updates screen has gone to be replaced with the following text: Matchdata saknas för Vargarna - Västervik. Möjlig anledning kan vara att matchen ej har spelats utan är en walkovermatch. Can anyone tell me whats happened?

  20. He is exciting to watch, however he needs to sharpen his gating up if he wants to compete with the best. Have to say he's always good to watch at Poole grabbing a big handful round the outside but he cant get away with that so much against the big boys in the GP. Especially not given the way Olsen prepares the tracks (completely cocked up a cracking racing track last night again!!). Gating is the key and he needs to improve significantly before he will make any impact in the series.
  21. Pete Smith Poole 1963 -1977 3427.5 pts Not sure if he had a year at Rye House though.
