They actually posted a loss. Taken from BBC News site: The club's parent company, Red Football Limited, on Tuesday published financial results for the three months to 30 September that reveal turnover increased from £57.7m to £63.3m in comparison to the same three months in 2009. The main reason for that is a rise in commercial revenue to £24.2m, up over 25%. It was also revealed that United's gross debt had fallen from £514.7m to £509.4m. Last month, United announced a £79.6m pre tax loss for the last financial year, mainly due to one off interest and debt charges, but despite that, the club generated revenues of £278m and have more than £100m of cash reserves.

If I had to hazard a guess I'd say that wasn't Phil posting.

Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation
Pirate Nick replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would say the same as all the Cov fans..... well done Middlo for using the rules as would you if you're honest. You might not like it Steve but Cov won fair and square and within the rules (God that hurt: ). And lets face it if we cant beat a 3 man team on our own track you have to ask did we deserve it. Dont get me wrong I was as pig sick as the rest of the fans but the fact is we lost, get over it and move on, the rest of us have, (well almost, the cat still gets the occasional kick: but I'm sure I will have recovered by about Feb). -

Pawlicki And His Average Manipulation
Pirate Nick replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As a Poole fan I am annoyed that Pawlicki was kept out of his 12th match to stay at reserve (especially as he could turn up as a guest for the Budgies in the Cup final) and yes it average manipulation of a sort. As a speedway fan I feel Rosco is to be applauded for his use and knowledge of the rules in the re building and maintenance of his team this year. If Middlo had the same option with a high scoring reserve and didn't do what Rosco did the same fans on here who are crying its not fair would be calling for his head! The question is will it be allowed next year? I think the BSPA conference will take steps to ensure it doesn't. However with a sport governed by averages there will always be an angle so to speak. IMO speedway fans will have to accept that from time to time a gem will be unearthed and just pray its your team that finds him and that your manager is clever enough to use the rules to his advantage. As for the sour grapes, I am still reeling in disbelief from the final and our performance (losing at home to effectively a 3 man team). The fact is though we lost so stop whinging and get on with winning the KO Cup (hopefully). Once again well done Coventry and their astute management, thanks to the Bees in the bar at the 1st leg for making what was looking to be a depressing night enjoyable and we'll be looking to take that trophy back next year: -

I think thats a bit unessesary Parsloes, Jayne was only putting forward her opinion. I think she's right as well, Jays average would be too high to fit in without wholesale changes. I think the Buccs will probably have to go with guests for the playoffs (isn't there a transfer deadline)? On a lighter note may I say how good it was to see Jay in fine form at Weymouth and I'm sure he will be an asset to someones team next year (shame it looks like it won't be the Buccs ). -
I believe Danny Warwick is guesting tonight.

Should be quite close with evenly matched teams. Will be down to watch Mr Newman fill his boots (hopefully), while he probably turns more of my hair grey with his exploits on the 1st and 2nd bend!!

Plymouth really don't have much luck with visibility in Dorset :-)

Kyle's ok with a bit of sore head.

Apologies to June if I have mis interpreted the thread. Its just that this was I think the second or third thread to mention C Cook and his Premier league status thats why I commented. As far as visiting the NDL section goes I visit it most days (dont often comment but enjoy reading the posts) as I am an ardent Buccs supporter (both on the terraces and with some financial help to some of the riders). Please dont assume that because my avatar is a Pirates one that that means I am an "Elite League snob" with little or no knowledge of the NDL. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to see a young rider progress, Craig Cook and Kyle Newman are 2 that spring to mind immediately. Once again my apologies to June and I'm off to Weymouth v Tamworth now to see how the other half live and hopefully see Brendan bang in a maximum!!

Rather than starting threads aimed at stopping Mr Cook riding in the NL shouldn't we be raising glasses to the fact that there is a young BRIT progressing rather nicely through the ranks?

Maybe you should advise Brendan that he should have the Kentucky after the meeting not before -
Good result for the buccaneers. Heat 15 worth the admission alone. Well done boys onwards and upwards!

On the few occasions that I have met Lawrence he has always struck me as a man with the interests of the sport at heart, particularly the youngsters. People like Lawrence are few and far between and should be given our support and encouragement not anonymously slagged off on the internet. -
Good weather, the weekend, speedway, a Buccs victory and several cans of Fosters. Life doesn't get much better
-
Oh I don't know, I can see the Buccs getting a result here. Looking forward to it if the weather holds off.
