Lions V Rebels 22.06.2013
Pirate Nick replied to Skodaman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Back from what will be one of the best, if not the best, meetings I will see all year (no passing at Leicester?,seriously?). I would say its not the track but the lack of riders prepared to attack it. Nick Morris, Josh and Doyley all proved it can be done. Tom passed Branford and kyle passed Edberg (before Edberg locked up). Rebels all but down and out 12 pts behind come back to win in a last ht decider. Nick Morris was a giant tonight and rode like a man possessed. Great back up from Jason and Josh (Garry must have had a problem with which 2 out of 3 to put in ht 15). Kyle and Alex had off nights by their standards but popped up with vital points without which the match would have been lost. Good to see Tom riding with some aggression. As far as the ref goes I thought he had a good meeting (if you want to bail out Magnus bring a parachute). Quite amusing to see the Leicester promoter throw a major hissy fit at the end of the meeting. Not the thing to do in front of your spectators though. I can understand his frustration as I would imagine he feels let down by his higher paid team members when it counted. He should IMO have waited until the morning and then called his team to task. It's never a good idea to act on the spur of the moment, especially when you are as wound up as he obviously was. -

Leaving at 2 pm what's the weather like up there? -
Why would you you buy him? Tap him up in November then wait until March 2nd and loan him for next to nothing. I'm sure Swindon won't object

In fairness, I think the Prem clubs were gearing up to get their fences installed for the 2015 season, so this came as a bit of a bolt out of the blue.
-
I don't know if anyone has already brought this up, but if all the tracks decide to go down the foam fence route has anyone asked the manufacturers whether or not they can actually supply them all by the start of next season?

Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirates 29/4/2013

Poole were told to revert to previous 1-7 (a decision which I believe Cook has said he disagreed with in the Star). Up until that point the match was going ahead with Kyle Newman as a replacement. The phone call would, I assume have been made after the BSPA made their decision, at which point I believe that Cook agreed with Poole and the meeting was called off. Cook could have come out and said that under normal circumstances he would not have agreed but in view of the BSPA decision he did. Anyway I'm watching the same programme so I'm going too. -

My point was that just because Cook has made a statement doesn't make it necessarily true. My opinion is, as I've said before, is that Cook is just muddying the waters. I believe that Poole did contact him and he did agree otherwise he would have forced Poole to run. If the BSPA had been asked to rule I believe they would have made Poole run the meeting. Enjoy the 60-32 tonking (you don't get many ) takes me back to the days when I used go on the coach to away meetings and if we scored more than 30 we called it a win, so no sour grapes we've had bigger hidings in the past from better teams and for what it's worth if we can't win it I'd love to see Vatch come away with the trophy. -

Met office today says 60% chance of rain @ 4am, 7am an 10am. Then 20% chance for the rest of the day, so I'd say there's a good chance it will go ahead. -

Nice of Ryan to shake hands with Davy, but I thought you were supposed to do that after the race? -

I am at the track and the meeting is on -
Not sure if there's an actual rule but the process is as follows: PL takes precedence for published fixtures. For re arranged fixture clashes the club which published the fixture first gets priority.

I'll pass the info on. Many thanks
