I think they must be self employed as I don't think the clubs pay their tax or NI.

If I read that correctly the BSPA can sanction his Tier 5 visa as a temporary worker from 1st March to 31st Oct?

No Idea. The link you posted goes to a statement on the legal position of Scottish banknotes. My point was that Salmond has stated that Scotland will retain the pound sterling and the treasury has replied no you won't.

Alex Salmond: We will retain the pound Treasury: No you won't This is another example of the lies the Salmond is putting about. So Euros it is provided he gets membership which is doubtful as he'll have to join the queue for membership.

I was a bit worried there as I was very careful not to mention tactical crossing of the border

Oops, have I upset you?

Why? We've accepted their dodgy notes for years

Someone in conversation on Twitter pointed out that maybe the parent club should be responsible and earn some of the loan fee. I think that's a good point. Either that or make the BSPA centrally responsible. -

I disagree. I think it was his recurring shoulder injury.

Speedway Best Pairs
Pirate Nick replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
Sorry I should have been clearer in my post. The only round that affects the Brits in the Elite League is 23/05 when Coventry host Eastie. I don't think there's anything the BSPA can do about other federations sanctioning their riders to take part in this event. Why not let Tai and Bomber contest the 1st and 2nd rounds and then send a substitute for Bomber for the last round. All that's happening here is 2 riders are being prevented from earning some decent money and the BSPA are missing an opportunity to have a British presence on a televised event. -

Speedway Best Pairs

Surely there would be little if no impact on the Elite League as the pairs will be on a Saturday, unless as per GPs the riders are required to practice on the Friday? Does anyone know if that's the case? -
Of course, wouldn't miss Havvys Farewell.

Taken from the Rebels website: 2014 PRESS & PRACTICE DAY DETAILS Tuesday January 21, 2014 The Cases Somerset Rebels can confirm that they will be holding their season-opening Press & Practice Day on Friday 21st March. In keeping with previous years, the day will be split into 2 portions, the first, which will take place in the afternoon, will see the riders introduced to members of the press, team sponsors, season ticket holders and specially invited guests, after which there will be the opportunity for those attending to meet with the riders and for members of the media to undertake any interviews. The gates will then open to the general public at 5pm, with the riders taking to the track, weather permitting, at approximately 6pm, after which there will be an informal social in the Oaktree. Entry to the evening session will be free of charge, but we would like those attending to donate a minimum of £1.00 towards our Charity Partners for 2014, the National Autistic Society. The club have supported the NAS for a number of years now, and with their local centre at Somerset Court celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, it has been decided that the Rebels will continue their support of the National Autistic Society for the 2014 season.

I would hazard a guess that the cost of hiring the stadium, staff an St Johns was the reason they didn't do it.
