  1. Not rude at all. Don’t mind telling you how much it cost. Wasn’t aware sponsorship costs were a closely guarded secret.
  2. Last time I sponsored a meeting it cost about £1400 onc vat. You could have 20 guests and a prog each. Had a meal in the stadium restaurant. The guys and girls in the office enjoyed it, a good night out.
  3. That was a bit un called for mate.
  4. I’d say it was a hard move, but then it was a championship final. I think it’s a bit harsh from those that are saying Brady bottled it.
  5. When you say attack the track what exactly do you mean?
  6. Somerset a lot better off with Jason Doyle than Holder IMO
  7. I’d probably say wouldnt pay. Who in their right minds would buy a riders registration in this day and age.
  8. Many good years and memories and many more to come on my travels next year hopefully.
  9. And you. Makes a change on this forum
  10. Well. I for one believe and hope he will prove you wrong in 2018. I also believe he’s better off away from poole where the promotion appear to employ British riders when they’re forced to, preferring the Aussies (who I have no grudge against) instead.
  11. Ive followed his career since the Buccaneers days and think he’s improved year on year. I cant think of any of his major injuries he’s had that have actually been his fault, he’s just been unlucky being a racer and in the thick of it most of the time. If you want a guy who’ll give 100% for his team turn up for off track events and who fans take a liking too then he’s your man. Or you could sign a mercenary who’s only here as a stepping stone to Poland.
  12. He got sacked because he wasnt given enough track time to recover from an injury caused by Fords poorly prepared track. This is why Im not attending Poole matches anymore whilst Ford is in charge. Total lack of investment in the track and equipment. Sooner or later imo someone is going to get seriously hurt on that track and I dont want to be there when it happen.
  13. Didn’t he win a league winners medal in 1977 riding at R/R
  14. Im only guessing but I think maybe his avg is being looked at which may throw a spanner in the works.
  15. I’d be interested to know the attendance figures for televised meetings against non televised meetings.
  16. Quote from a rider: she (t he referee) said she'd come down and when she dug her foot in and it broke up the top surface down about 3 inches she realised, it was literally breaking up in ruts and ridges so the bikes were just taking off in any direction and on a fast track like that...! Promoters need to learn they have to prepare a raceable track. Also said that Bomber was struggling to ride on it and that he'd (the rider I'm speaking to) never been so scared riding a track where he didn't know how his bike was going to react going into the bends!
  17. As I understand it if Holder can get fixed up with a club for next season his visa will be fine.
  18. Poole can still sign him. He has 60 days to find employment. If he agrees terms with another club for next year that counts and will ensure the continuity of his visa. If he doesn't he has to sit out a year and re apply.
  19. I think he makes a point. Holder says he didn’t just take a stand for his own benefit. He added: “I remember when I first started. When you’re not an established rider, your voice doesn’t get heard. I remember when we raced bad tracks and I’d just get on with it and do my best. “But when a top, established guy would say something, you’d think ‘thank God someone said something. Now something is going to happen.’ Obviously he (Chapman) has a problem with listening to people, but that’s his deal.”
  20. Every time I see young Bewley ride I'm impressed with his control on the bike and his ability to learn away tracks. Hopefully a star in the making and as you say he's British.
  21. Poole didn't sign the "roll over and tickle my tum" paperwork
  22. Taken from the Poole website a quote from Matt Ford. This was not a decision I ideally would have wanted to make and I insist that this is not the end of the road for Kyle here at Poole. It is as much about looking at the forthcoming weeks and the minimising risks. Kyle has not had the best of fortunes since returning from his start-of-season injury and his average is dropping because of it. He will shortly be on a figure that would offer us very little cover if he were to be unavailable for any reason and the time-scales for changes are even more restrictive this year than previously." So as of Monday Paul Starke is 4.83. Kyle Newman is 5.26. Seems like Ford has even less cover now. Somebody didn't do their homework.
