Pirate Nick replied to doners1234's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think Manzares is ok as he was top 4 (won?) a state championship. -
Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?

Had a look at the averages and the Aussie State Champs and I think there's only 3 that may have a problem. Mason Campton, Taylor Poole and Ryan Douglas. -

As a self employed worker working away from home I would think accommodation would be written off against any tax. -
Beat Holder And Janowski that night I think.

I think the rules set by the BSPA will be slightly different this year.

Has a 7pt average

Little bit libellous

The fact that hearing dates have been set and then cancelled suggests to me that the FIM are not sure of their ground. To me it should be black and white. The alcohol limit is zero so you pass or fail, there is no grey area. I wouldn't be at all surprised if proper procedures weren't followed and Darcy, as a result , will be able to ride in March.

Taken from the overview section of Tier 2 Sportsmanship Visa on .gov.uk "your employment will develop your sport in the UK at the highest level" This is one of the criteria that must be filled. So are any of the PL only riders eligible?

Become a Sikh, they're exempt and jobs a good'un

That's part of the problem. You shouldn't apply for a 2/3 yr visa unless you have a 2/3 yr contract with your employer. Speedway in this country only offers 1 yr contracts.

Not a problem for us, KK & Janowski. But that's not the point. If the Aussies don't get in then the points limit must be lowered to try as far as possible for a level playing field. I don't think the likes of Holder, Ward, Batch and Doyle will have a problem as they are clearly at the Elite end of their sport and internationally established. It's the PL riders that will have problems. The way I read Tier 2 is that anyone not in their national team or the GP's could struggle.

I'm led to believe that North has a British passport and Watt has some sort of extended residency which isn't affected.

Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?
Pirate Nick replied to SteveLyric2's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If thats the case then it could mean the end of the road for new Aussies depending on how they define an elite sportsperson. Now I havent read the entire legal document, but the overview taken from https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-sportsperson-worker-visa/overview says the following: 1. OverviewYou can apply for a Tier 2 (Sportsperson) visa if all of the following apply: you’re an elite sportsperson or qualified coach recognised by your sport’s governing body as internationally established at the highest level your sport’s governing body is endorsing your application your employment will develop your sport in the UK at the highest level you’re from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland you meet the other eligibility requirements -

Do they come in on Tier 2 or 5 sporting visas? -
Any particular reason why?

I think he might have a Polish passport, not sure though?

If Josh doesn't get a place at Poole then Somerset will have priority.

Social Media For Speedway Teams
Pirate Nick replied to uk_martin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The only actions I've seen them take is to threaten forward thinking promotions when they post videos on their website or you tube? If they haven't got the manpower after all these years then surely it's time to hand it over to someone who has? -
Social Media For Speedway Teams

Lagging behind?? Couple of seasons to roll out??? How many seasons do these guys need? Time to get rid and get someone in who knows what they're doing I think! -
I am of the opinion that the PL should have compulsory Brits at reserve, however that isnt the case so teams will build to what is in their opinion the strongest side. I do know that at least 1 Brit was approached but his demands were excessive.

Taken from Facebook post by Pete Greenwood: Ollie and I would like to thank Debbie Hancock and Gary May for their help and understanding regarding Ollie's change of circumstances with his work commitments . We wish the Rebles well in 2015.
-
I think you and a few others will be surprised at how they perform once the season starts. In short, no. Who would you have signed at this short notice? Olly asked to be released due to work commitments. Wait and see. I think Leigh will improve at Somerset in much the same way Olly Allen did. Dilger, having come back too early from a wrist injury last year, is currently in a fitness camp in preparation for the new season and I think he'll go well at the Oak Tree. To those of you quick to criticize Gary I would say this. Garry (and he is not alone in this) is not in a position to defend himself publicly (for reasons that I cannot go into), but did build his team in accordance to the information provided to him.

Well he wouldn't would he?
