  1. http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-25968200 They're winning them now though.
  2. Thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. Great to see the youngsters being given track time as well.
  3. Sedgmen is an interesting example. He rode at 2 with Cook all year and with BPs would have averaged over 8. He would have been penalised because of his team position not his ability.
  4. Taken from the BSPA release. 3. The BSPA will consider applications for Discretionary Endorsements for riders who do not meet the above requirements on an individual discretionary basis. Decisions will be made by the BSPA Management Committee who will consider written applications from the club and/or rider concerned. The Management Committee will give written reasons for their decision. Factors to be taken into account when making a discretionary decision will be:- o Whether the riders record in Speedway has been at the highest level and they will contribute significantly to the development of the sport. o Whether exceptional factors prevented the rider from meeting the aforementioned endorsement requirements. Like SCB, I think there is a good case for Fisher.
  5. They didn't mention March at the Poole night but Tatum was of the opinion that there has been some sort of procedural c0ck up. They didn't mention March at the Poole night but Tatum was of the opinion that there has been some sort of procedural c0ck up.
  6. Good signing by the Rebels. Great young rider, exciting to watch with his never say die attitude. Looks like Swindon will have some fixture rearranging to do.
  7. Unless they've changed the rules Jack doesnt qualify. If they've changed the rules to add the phrase "within the last 2 years" then he does as I think he finished in the top 4 of a state championship in 2014. I understand Alex Davies qualifies because his average was achieved within the last 2 years.
  8. Went to the Pearson & Tatum do at Poole last night. Very good night, some interesting stories and plenty of merriment. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone in the Somerset area tonight. Good value for £6.
  9. Taken from The Daily Echo: "Article 8.2.1 of the latest FIM Anti-Doping Code, effective January 1, 2015, states: “The International Disciplinary Court shall issue a written decision within 45 days from the date of the end of the hearing” which was heard on January 30. However, a new twist could come from article 20.7 of the same document which contains the caveat that the rules “shall not apply retroactively to matters pending before the effective date”. In layman’s terms, the previous set of rules, in place from July 1, 2014, should apply to Ward’s failed alcohol test on August 17. The old code did not set out a definitive time frame for decisions, only a person’s right to “a timely, written reasoned decision” in the FIM’s principles for a fair hearing." This could run and run!
  10. According to the article it's to cover the cost of employing staff from elsewhere as they don't have enough driver cover.Take from the article: "We realised before confirming the booking that we didnt have enough volunteer ambulance drivers in Wolverhampton to fulfil the needs of this event, and would have to employ staff."
  11. What a ridiculous statement. It will be a benefit meeting, obviously
  12. Would a group of travelling Glasgow fans be known as a Haggai? I'll get my coat
  13. Is there a prize for anyone that can find a rider to go with Zephaniah?
  14. Well there's 2 mins of my life I won't get back
  15. IMO the FIM may have up to 45 days to come to a decision but in this case I don't see why they are taking so long. It's cut and shut, he either passed or he failed, the procedure was done correctly or it wasn't. Where's the problem?
  16. Don't see what the problem is with testing them all? 1 breathalyser and 18 tubes, it's hardly a major expense. As far as catching people out goes, surely the idea should be to prevent it before it happens. If they all know they're going to be tested then the odd one won't be tempted to chance it?
  17. No it hasnt. As far as I'm aware the Visa people dont care what average a new Aussie comes in on so long as he finished in the top 4 of his State Championship. Its the average he achieves when he's finished the season that counts. In theory the BSPA could bring them in on a 3 if they wanted. If they then get 7+ by the end of the season they can return the following year if not they have to qualify via State Champs or they don't get a visa.
  18. TBF Middlo is not and to my knowledge hasn't ever defended Darcys actions in the GP. He is criticising the FIM for taking too long to deliver a verdict in what should be an open and shut case. There is no grey area here, you either pass or fail the test. So what's the delay? IMO the reason for the delay is somebody messed up on the procedural side of the testing and the FIM aren't sure of their ground. Before anybody has a pop, I think Darcy was a complete idiot to be drinking the night before. I also think he realises he let his team, the fans and himself down, but stringing it out like this is surely unnecessary.
