  1. I think everyone is missing the point here. IMO if this meeting hadn't been on Sky it would have been called this morning based on the weather forecast (I was going but decided against it after looking at the weather). Spoke to a friend this morning who was giving me a lift and told him I wasn't bothering as it was going to be a race to Ht 10 on a rubbish wet track. Its about time promoters stood their ground where Sky are concerned. As for the meeting, IMO it should have been called after the off in Ht 9. Why wasn't it? More pressure from Sky? An official with no balls? You can't blame Poole for wanting to continue and to be fair on the TV footage that was shown it looked like they were keeping out of it for the most part. Obviously Poole were willing to go to 10 as Havvy would have been if the boot was on the other foot. So whats needed here is strong officials and for those officials to not be bothered about pi$$ing Sky off. I feel sorry for Horton in all this as he's lost what must be one of his biggest gates of the season I hope the Sky money was worth it. I would suggest in the longer term with the damage this has done the sport that it wasn't.
  2. The George on the roundabout opposite Barclays will show it if theirs no football on.
  3. Magic will probably do whatever the PZM tell him to do.
  4. Hardly surprising when the away team turns up with 4 guests
  5. Hmm, Masters, insults a ref on social media and gets a ban, Masters physically assaults a rider who is in the ground and the continues the assault in the pits result, £300 fine. Seems to me the second episode is far more serious than the first, the only difference being the team he was riding for at the time.
  6. If the statement is true they won't be the first team to receive duff info from high ranking officials within the sport.
  7. Obviously learnt to "make a few adjustments" before the racing starts this year
  8. Here you go. http://wwosbackup.proboards.com/thread/2886
  9. I think that's exactly how a sick note works actually. A doctor can give me a note to say I've done my knee and signs me off for 6 weeks. Doesn't mean I can't still go to work if I want to one day and have the next off because it's sore or I don't fancy it. Personally I don't blame Janowski for not wanting to risk injury in a league that pays him probably less than 50% of what he earns elsewhere on tracks where there has been no investment in equipment or the track and that's a general statement across the league and not aimed at Belle Vue in particular. If you all want to have a pop, have a pop at your promoters (and mines as guilty as the rest) for allowing this sort of rubbish to go on. Poole have done nothing wrong under the rules and regs and that's what's wrong! Pulls on flak jacket and steps stage right;)
  10. As far as I am aware they can use a guest all season so long as Stead remains top of the Sheffield avgs.
  11. R/R for PK tonight, he's "gone down with a bug" according to Poole Twitter feed.
  12. Watching the replay the bike seems to fold in on itself as Tai left it?
  13. Morning NajerLight misty rain in Christchurch this morning (about 11 miles from Poole)
  14. North probably wouldn't have missed it if was a league match.
  15. You're not wrong but not entirely accurate. Starman does indeed sell the Stars, he also helps to put up the netting and removes it after the meeting (you know, when we're all in the nice warm bar after the meeting). He also ferries riders to and from airports if required and various other bits and bobs, In short he's one of those volunteer helpers without whom most speedway tracks wouldn't function. Personally I don't begrudge him the free admission, after all I wouldn't do what he does for £17.
  16. Aah those were the days. When all the track staff wore white jackets and marched out smartly at the start of the meeting
  17. Nope, don't want an argument. Just pointing out that you can find a quote, if you look hard enough, to justify any point of view.
  18. Or you could have equally used the the Oxford dictionarys definition to support Starmans opinion that he wasn't drunk: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/drunk Just depends on which side of the fence you want to sit.
  19. Aah, thanks, the hearing's obviously not what it was
  20. I'm sure I heard the commentator say that the semis and the final were scored 4,3,2,0.
