Just wondering what this has to do with the BSPA? The same BSPA that has the sense to not schedule EL fixtures during the WTC unlike the (we couldn't give a stuff about any other country) Poles. Looks like you don't rule the speedway world after all, must come as a bit of a shock.- 509 replies

Go Speed International Statement.
Pirate Nick replied to Fromafar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Having listened to Mick Hortons podcast and then read the Gospeed statement I'd say Gospeed are conducting a massive ar$e covering exercise. We couldn't contact him? Seriously? How hard did they try? I'm calling bullsh1t on that one. Just from reading this forum my calls on Saturday would have been Horton followed by text if no answer then possibly Neil Watson and any other senior figure in the Cov set up. better still why not send an email. All my work mail comes to my phone as well I'm sure it's the same for any business in this day and age. There's no excuse for not contacting someone if you try hard enough. -
I really don't think Darcy needs to put himself in "the shop window" I'd imagine there's teams queueing up to sign him.

I think everyone is missing the point here. IMO if this meeting hadn't been on Sky it would have been called this morning based on the weather forecast (I was going but decided against it after looking at the weather). Spoke to a friend this morning who was giving me a lift and told him I wasn't bothering as it was going to be a race to Ht 10 on a rubbish wet track. Its about time promoters stood their ground where Sky are concerned. As for the meeting, IMO it should have been called after the off in Ht 9. Why wasn't it? More pressure from Sky? An official with no balls? You can't blame Poole for wanting to continue and to be fair on the TV footage that was shown it looked like they were keeping out of it for the most part. Obviously Poole were willing to go to 10 as Havvy would have been if the boot was on the other foot. So whats needed here is strong officials and for those officials to not be bothered about pi$$ing Sky off. I feel sorry for Horton in all this as he's lost what must be one of his biggest gates of the season I hope the Sky money was worth it. I would suggest in the longer term with the damage this has done the sport that it wasn't.

I was there that night and IMO there were 2 correct calls that could have been made. One was the call the ref made on the night and the 2nd was all 4 back in the basis that the incident started on the 1st bend. Either one would have been correct. I was referring mostly to sight of supporters (not just Somerset supporters) leaving in their droves before the final, all live on TV. That and the fact that Sky were left with a damp squib instead of a thrilling climax to what had been, up to then, a good hard fought meeting.

Hardly surprising when the away team turns up with 4 guests -
Hmm, Masters, insults a ref on social media and gets a ban, Masters physically assaults a rider who is in the ground and the continues the assault in the pits result, £300 fine. Seems to me the second episode is far more serious than the first, the only difference being the team he was riding for at the time.

Belle Vue Aces -v Poole "cheats" Pirates
Pirate Nick replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think that's exactly how a sick note works actually. A doctor can give me a note to say I've done my knee and signs me off for 6 weeks. Doesn't mean I can't still go to work if I want to one day and have the next off because it's sore or I don't fancy it. Personally I don't blame Janowski for not wanting to risk injury in a league that pays him probably less than 50% of what he earns elsewhere on tracks where there has been no investment in equipment or the track and that's a general statement across the league and not aimed at Belle Vue in particular. If you all want to have a pop, have a pop at your promoters (and mines as guilty as the rest) for allowing this sort of rubbish to go on. Poole have done nothing wrong under the rules and regs and that's what's wrong! Pulls on flak jacket and steps stage right;) -
As far as I am aware they can use a guest all season so long as Stead remains top of the Sheffield avgs.
