Lakeside V Belle Vue 29th September Play-off Semi 1st Leg
liam replied to Dave Stummings's topic in National League Speedway
I agree with that Cousins has not even looked like winning a race and Locke has been much bettter out of the two, strange decision in my opinion. Really glad Edwards has been given a chance though. -
Lakeside V Belle Vue 29th September Play-off Semi 1st Leg

Wasn't Jason injured after a crash a few weeks back? I would like to see him though. -
But it was ok for them to drop two leagues?
-
O sorry I saw him posting meeting reports on the supposedly Lakeside fans forum, or was it just the one report then gave up after he knew they was getting another wooden spoon lol
-
I would be more concerned why your team keep getting the wooden spoon voice of reason lol
-
I think some would like that Tony so they can say 'told you so' after they predicted the move to the national league was Cook's way of slowing killing the club lol. I wonder what the negative spin will be if he did secure the clubs long term future by getting the club involved with a new stadium.
-
It's the ones on the forum we are talking about though lol. Regarding the crowds, let's just wait and see what they are like when Lakeside go back to the Premiership.
-
Everybody is entitled to an opinion Claret, I was just responding to East End regarding the views on Cook and the club being alarming from people who don't even support Lakeside that's why I said take those comments with a pinch of salt. I think you will find actual Lakeside supporters comments more positive.
-
I would take the opinions of a few posters with a pinch of salt mate they don't even support the club. The obsession with Cook is a bit worrying though I have to say it's almost as if he might have sacked them in a previous life or something lol.
-
I reckon Leicester fans wouldn't mind dropping down a league to be honest it would be nice for them to maybe win something other than a wooden spoon, they have had enough of them surely.
-
How does anyone really know how many fans have gone to Rye from Lakeside?
-
Well you just leave us happy clappers to support the club and you can always run along to Rye He can stick himself next to Hurry or Kelvin at reserve. Hopefully AJ could be tempted as a signing like that could well tempt some back and maybe even some of the fans who went Rye especially if they pick a team from the retirement home again.
-
Maybe Cook can get AJ to come back
-
All the best with that
-
Last bit of the article he said he should be able to confirm at end of the season.
-
Cook intends to run premiership next season, he said the support was good for National League level but only half the fan base thought it was for them. He has told the landlords the dates required and he has asked to attend the pre agm meeting. He also said he was confident of moving to a brand new two wheeled sporting facility in the near future where the plan will then be to run both Premiership and National Leagues.
-
Luke Priest is in for Alfie.
-
Thanks Claret. I totally agree with you.
-
Did Cook say anything in the speedway star about moving leagues?
-
Grays I would guess, they have been without a stadium since there one was sold to build houses. Iam sure there has been talk in the past of a new sports stadium being built where Thurrock rugby club and Thurrock athletics stadium is which would be used by Grays and maybe Cook might have tried getting a track built. Obviously it would only be a small venue but let's be honest it wouldn't take much for it to be better than arena essex. Iam not saying that is going to happen and for all I no that has been ruled out already Iam just sure it was being mentioned.
-
Their is talk of a new football stadium being built in the area so I would guess that the promotion would have been trying for a speedway track to be included in any new project.

Sounded like a shambles of a meeting -
I can't disagree with anything you have said bal, my speedway education doesn't go back as far as yours and I only really started getting into speedway when arena essex started so they have always been my team. Speedway has changed a lot since then and I wish it could go back to them days. I have drifted away from the sport at times but always came back to arena and now lakeside. I like everyone else hopes that things can be done to make it better again and would love to be able to watch speedway every week. I also understand why people have had enough or would now choose to go rye house.
