Can Jack Holder guest for us at Belle Vue ? -
KO cup final dates Witches v Tigers 2023
Laobob replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Brilliant idea to let the fans onto the centre green for the presentation. Great for fans to get up close to the riders. First chance ever to have a look at the track close up too -
Ipswich v Leicester May 25th
Laobob replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Leicester will be missing Lawson who was injured last night so perhaps not so close depending on who they get in -
No mention of Drew in either this section or the Championship. With few riders to be declared has he missed out on a team spot for either League?
-
Watch the meeting on Freesport last evening and I didn’t see TJ fall off so how/what exactly did he injure ?He was pretty awful too

EASTBOURNE V KENT K O CUP 6th June
Laobob replied to Hunters's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Very drawn out meeting indeed, understand delay for Kerr’s injury but why decided to test the starting gate just before the first race 15 minute delay to fix it. Presumably working OK in the last home meeting? -
How long is Jason likely to be sidelined? I’ve noticed in the fixture list that all 6 teams ride on 7th, 21st and 28th June so where are we going to get guest coverage for him? I can’t see us using R/R for all/any, so what are the options?

BELLE VUE v IPSWICH. 07.06.21
Laobob replied to KIRKYLANE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What are the Witches going to do to replace Jason? All clubs riding so no one available, R/R or Craig Cook as a guest? -
I was thinking about not just wearing it for going to the speedway but if we are required to wear a mask then why not a supporters mask?
-
Does anyone think it would be a good idea for the Witches to produce and sell some face masks like ITFC are doing? Perhaps incorporate #15 in the design and give part proceeds to Danny's Fund and NHS? Would the club be interested in this? I would buy one, anyone else ?

Whilst trawling through trying to find ‘old news’ items , I came across the British Pathe News site and searching ‘speedway’ got some vintage and late 1970s clips. Hopefully this will be of interest and bring back some memories during this time of inactivity https://www.britishpathe.com/search/query/Speedway

Ipswich v Poole Prem. 11/6/19
Laobob replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What difference if he posts or not, as you keep on saying he's on your ignore list then you won't see it anyway or ........? -
No Good Friday meetings according this Ipswich Speedway website Fixture list ?

Cook rode for Scunthorpe in 2008?
-
Teams now announced. With 8.79 to play with is Mason Campton the best option as no one else is riding on Thursday or would R/R for Rory be better? Witches reserves look much stronger but we will still need good contributions from Cam, Mark and Nico if we are going to stop Glasgow getting a point! Looking forward to seeing this for first visit of the season. Ipswich: 1. Richard Lawson (g) 8.83 2. Cameron Heeps 6.19 © 3. Nico Covatti 6.66 4. Mark Riss 5.51 5. Mason Campton (g) 8.79 6. Coty Garcia 4.26 7. Drew Kemp 2.00. Glasgow: 1. Craig Cook 9.96 2. James Sarjeant 4.21 3. Claus Vissing 7.49 4. Paul Starke 5.66 5. Chris Harris 8.15 © 6. Jack Thomas 2.00 7. Broc Nicol (g) 4.20

A bit harsh to replace Coty as he's doing a good job isn't he?
-
Isn't rubbish a bit harsh, without a further explanation?

Good to hear some positive comments about Wayne, Kevin was going to be a hard act to follow
-
Have not seen any comments on how Wayne Bavin is doing so far and if the new sound system is any good. Any comments out there?

Dropped in to the museum on the way home from Stansted. I was really impressed with what was in there but surprised there was not more memorabilia from the speedway teams but nevertheless seeing pictures, bikes and old programmes brought back good memories. The museum was closed and the keyholder had to be found. The holder was a certain Bert Harkins, who proceeded to give us a guided personal tour. What a great bloke, thanks Bert for the pleasure of your company and hearing your experiences :-)

Ipswich V Redcar 30th May
Laobob replied to 2ndbendbeerhut's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I suppose after a great win tonight against a woeful Redcar side R/R will remain at 4! I can't help thinking that we have missed badly Gino when he was injured and when he's on it the team do well. Why the reference to Proctor, moving away from Danny and his average? -
Ipswich V Redcar 30th May
Laobob replied to 2ndbendbeerhut's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I see Phil has said today that he prefers R/R at 4 so that Nico rides in Heat 14, does that make sense to anyone? R/R at 2 does seem the best place as it gives one of the reserves a first look in Heat 1 before their own heat. -
Thanks Tsunami. I also would it would be a special type of insurance as I would have thought the premiums would be pretty high considering the likelihood of injury! Still makes you wonder how some riders make a living ?
-
With the recent spate of injuries in particular long term ones (Olly Allen and Simon Stead) does anyone know if riders are able to get sports injury insurance whilst they are not riding and recovering from injury. I've often wondered how they manage to make ends meet when they are not earning from speedway meetings and possibly not from other jobs they may do between meetings?
