  1. Used the same language at Arlington many many years ago in front of lots of young fans, you'd think he would have grown up by now, but he's never been a good advert for the sport, or role model. Back to Poland and Sweden hopefully next year.
  2. I know and would like to see it at 42, but can't see it going above 40 really, at least setting it would negate it going into the 30's.
  3. Keep it at 40 and leave it for another 2/3 seasons, will always be good and bad teams put together and some riders will miss out, but at least clubs and fans will know at the end of the seasons what's happening the next.
  4. I was really against Sayfutinov coming before the start of the season down to ( through no fault of his own) being Russian and still not sure whether it's right to allow Russia and Russian's back into the civilised world at the moment including sport, my view and know not everyone will agree. But......disregarding that the man has won me over with his riding and attitude to British speedway, even Scott Nicholls had his arm round him after the semi final at Belle Vue.... Hope he comes back next year if there's a good enough league for him to come back to, although I fear not.
  5. Definitely, put it in the same box as xmas adverts and xmas stuff in the shops now, both should be outlawed until the end of November at least.....bah humbug.....
  6. Isn't it 'off his t*ts' ? Although I'm no expert on such things, perhaps one could confirm.....
  7. Can only think the comment is a joke( and I'm not from Poole or a fan) , if not I bet the Ford's would like to have the money you think they have. Can you imagine land and planning becoming available/viable in the Poole area as well. ( posted exactly the same time as FortyThirtyEight but exactly the same thought) .
  8. The top riders can/could ride them all.... Doyle never seemed to have much trouble at Arlington and Poole, even the sort after Ryan Douglas was sensational at Arlington in his 2 meetings there after one ride to get used to the track, but even in his prime before abandoning British speedway Woffinden always moaned and groaned about most of those.
  9. Make the coin toss at the start of the meeting be for gate choice, track grade before heat 15, then the managers do another coin toss for gates only add a minute to the meeting run time and should eliminate gate prep fixing, or a 50/50 gamble.
  10. I used to stand near the start line at Eastie and never saw them watering the start line specifically in one area, normally Eastie chose heat 15 if they won the toss and did see Bob Dugard grade a path differently for Nicki Pedersen to the first bend, and saw the same done for Peter Karlsson on a trip to Wolves. Done everywhere and always has been in my veiw.
  11. Even now never really understood that about Thursday being so down on a Wednesday if it meant top league racing( although I think the championship is the place to be so did make the right move anyway), perhaps curry club at Spoons, main swingers night is Thursday night in Poole, perhaps you could enlighten me....
  12. If that's taken recently the track looks perfect.....never thought I'd ever say that about a Poole track being used to a home track with a good amount of dirt on it and being covered in dust on summer visits to Poole in years gone by, but it does look so much better now with the extra shale.
  13. Thanks, even more impressive being at Ipswich.
  14. I may have remembered it incorrectly but I'm sure a young Adam Shields got 21 from 7 rides at reserve early on in his career over here, can't remember what team though, might have been Arena Essex ?
  15. Thanks for clearing that up.....surely not with the manipulation......
  16. What ? Think I need another and you do maybe or maybe had a few already? Used to sort of understand the rules but since the demise of Eastbourne and the on set of old age I'm a bit lost.....
  17. If Geoff100 is anywhere near that age, take my hat off to you if they're bouncing... and not dragging along.
  18. If it was the case, surely should have been announced at the track ( by various posts assume it wasn't) and put out on social media. Either not true or bad pr for the lad, one way or another.
  19. Sure it's been the case as long as I can remember with a late change leading to r/r. Had many a programme looking like a dog's dinner before the meeting started, changes to riding order and virtually every race.
  20. Let's be honest I'm old school and maybe not pc for today, but if my 3 x15 year olds had done something like that at that age in any sport they were in, quite a lot but not speedway admittedly, I'd have banned them and taken their toys away, but hey they're late 30's now and lovely level headed adults.....
  21. Seems to compound the feeling it maybe a silly decision, dropping a level headed young man on the up for someone who seems to have history who may do better?
  22. Might do him a favour, won't now have the loyalty he may have had for Leicester and kick on with another club.
  23. My thought has always been why would you want to go when you've paid for a second half and it's more heats whatever level, as you say can't fathom it out as it always seemed a bonus. Always watched the second halves at Eastbourne, saw in my time young Kennett, Bridger, Brennan etc being so excited when they got under 60 seconds. Also half emptied the car park and always got out quickly, I did have a good hours drive to get home, so it wasn't as though I lived around the corner.
  24. As a matter of interest what were the crowds in the boom years in the NL( 2014/18) when Birmingham had the likes of Adam Ellis etc and had stern competition from Eastbourne and BV etc over a 3 /4 year period, probably more than now I imagine. Like Eastbourne were pretty successful over that period, I always said that was the level of clubs like those 2 and many others, but I still think was deemed too successful and a threat to the higher leagues and diluted it. My club has gone, and sadly Birmingham look likely to follow if crowds are only 300/500.
  25. I imagine most would welcome it, always a fine line between improving the racing surface and taking away home advantage I suppose.
