  1. When Eastie dropped to the NL last year I really thought about not attending after watching them for 15 years in the so called Elite league. I just feel so lucky I gave it a go, better, more unpredictable racing rather than a procession, mostly young kids who give it their all, and interact with the crowd, and looking a very even league this year. Maybe a lower overall standard of riding, but if Eastie are anything to go, as professionally run as it was in the Elite. The likes of us , Birmingham, Kings Lynn etc will raise the standard even further. Place to be :- National League.
  2. No way will Eastie finish below IOW or Belle Vue! Top 3 will be fine and then win the playoff . But you're right, really open league this year, looking forward to it.
  3. I hope our section of the forum isn't going down the road of the Elite section, don't even bother to read it now with all the bickering and pointless arguments on there. I'm an Easty fan and having watched 15 years of Elite and 1 of NL, it was so refreshing to see better racing, new riders like George Wood coming from nowhere and far better conversations on the NL forum. Surely this league is all about finding the likes of Conner Locke, giving the lad a chance and not writing him off before he starts?
  4. The last 38 pages just show what a great unpredictable sport we have and we all see it in a slightly different way, obviously mostly with a bias towards the team we support. The dreadful downside and something none of us wish to see is always the injuries that affect the sport, but even that throws so much unpredictability to the season. So at this point let's hope for as near an injury free season we can get and the best team win, obviously I think that'll be the Eagles, but that's my bias!
  5. Agree he was impressive at Arlington at the sharp end of the season.
  6. Sure it will all come together like last year. Roll on March!
  7. Not a bad guess on the 16th December!
  8. Kyle Hughes confirmed as thought. Still think it's a good signing with the potential to put at least a point on his average. Although not too many seem to agree on here, I still look at our top 5 and think we're going to have the strength in depth not to lose many matches across the season, and more than likely lose none at home . Happy New year to everyone, especially to the true fans of speedway watching the National League!
  9. Nobody rated the Eagles last year either at this time!
  10. Kyle Hughes; said it 3 weeks ago, can't think it can be anyone else now with the amount of riders and points left.
  11. Still think Hughes and Andrews will score more points home and away across the season than Ellis and a 3 pointer, and more Eastbourne like!
  12. It's looking like the last 3 could be Hughes, Andrews, and probably Charlie Powell ? Makes somewhere around 39.75 I think, not a bad team again if it is.
  13. In Conner's statement, doesn't he say ' at least ' one rider returning from last year which could indicate more than one ?
  14. I think upper body strength may also have something to do with it also, have seen Cameron Woodward come close to ' mishaps ' at Eastbourne on a number of times this year, but seems to have a natural strength to avoid the air fence.
