  1. Not only will we have the away fixture at Cradley to find a guest for, but the 2 home fixtures against Rye House on the 18th and Kings Lynn on the 26th . Dan Bewley has also scored well at Cradley and has ridden there twice this year before.
  2. Would have thought that might be a little bit early for a broken collar bone, perhaps jonny the spud could give us an update on his progress at some point?
  3. I don't think the playoffs count towards a new average so assume they'll include him in only 3 meetings beforehand, and then include him in the playoffs. To be honest I think we'll make the playoffs without any changes to the current team anyway, especially when Adam returns hopefully fit and well.
  4. Thank you , I thought a similar scenario with the meetings and Tom's rides all baring the dreaded injuries. No date on the fixture list yet for the KO Cup match with Kings Lynn, that again probably ties in with eventually juggling around Tom's other meetings.
  5. Sure you're right, cannot believe the club are going to sacrifice the chance of him coming back next year on a 3 point average. One other thing does anyone know if the KO Cup matches contribute towards an average? Could give Tom more rides in that competition if they don't, and on that point as well does anyone know who we have in the 2nd round of the Cup?
  6. Exactly the same 12 years ago with Nicki Pedersen, only took a meeting to change around. I'm sure as well apart from the odd idiot( or 2!), even the people who boo the opposing riders don't go down that route if he's lying on the track with an injury, might do it if he's up and ok and going back to the pits, but hasn't that always happened through the decades?I remember chanting 'cheat cheat ' to Bjarne Pedersen when he 'fell ' off to gain a tactical ride in the next heat whilst riding for Poole against us, and cheering him on a couple of years later when he rode for us . Just part of any team sport I suppose when they change from one team to another.Happens more with speedway than most sports because of the guest ruling.
  7. What's a catalouge?Sound's a dodgy to me! lol I would have thought he'd do everything to have him start on a 3 point average next year, but I suppose if he thinks it would win the league this year may go for it and have him in the main body of the team next year.Imagine he could cope with that like Bewley but could have a big effect on team building next year if he's on say a 7 and not 3 points.
  8. I think if we win it this year it'll be because of team spirit rather than home track advantage .Over the years Easties home advantage has always been counter balanced with poor away results because of the difference between our track and others. Be interesting to see the aggregate score in the league matches with Kent, think it'll be fairly even?
  9. Trouble is the not quite world class riders now command the high wages but unlike the likes of Pedersen and Crump don't attract the crowds. Sorry but I suppose us ordinary fans can see the problem!
  10. Hope both teams are at full strength come the playoffs, whether that be riders coming back from injury or strengthening up at reserve etc as I imagine there won't be much between both teams home and away. Although perhaps Kent could have a say in proceedings, still convinced these 2 will be riding for the NL title.
  11. Inflated elite league wages which really no club can afford in this country with the gates they get. We'll see in the next couple of years if any of the elite clubs will survive on the receipts verses losses.
  12. Maybe he really meant management team established from last year who know what they're doing?
  13. He's only dropped 1 point to an opponent since he's been with us, and has riden brilliantly with Jake Knight. Just got to stay in contention at this point for the playoffs, if we have a full and fully fit team by then who knows what could happen!
  14. Such a shame for Adam with the world u21's coming up and for both Poole and Eastie.Just as it looks the team is getting settled we get hit with an injury again. I suppose we'll go with guests until Adam recovers but the chances of a guest doing what Bewley did yesterday are quite remote week in week out unfortunately. I suppose Adam was due to miss 4 matches anyway between now and June 18th. Anyway wish him a speedy recovery.
  15. Adam does miss the return match against Rye on the 18th June due to the World Under 21 champs, is that the 3rd one you were thinking of?
  16. Thought heat 13 was probably the best I've seen since we dropped down to the NL. Standing near the start line definitely brought the atmosphere home with me, can still taste the blue and yellow smoke and tyre burn out this morning!
  17. I think he will be so I still think our guest will be Dan Greenwood who although on the losing side has been fast at Kent and Cradley, and doesn't appear to be riding Monday.
  18. Probably will be him then, our strange sport will see him ride against us Saturday and then for us 2 days later!
  19. I did mean a ' gentleman's ' agreement I suppose ( if that's possible! ) not an actual contract, that could hopefully benefit both clubs and the rider. Sure it'll be a guest, R/R would make a win pretty unlikely I would imagine.
  20. Maybe a problem as Wolves and Scunthorpe are both riding Monday, May have to look elsewhere . I think it'll be Dan Greenwood, he's guested for us before.
  21. Bit of a shame as well, we won't have Adam on June 18th against Rye as he's qualified for the World U 21's, he'd have had 2 pretty good heat leaders to race against in Morley and Branford.
  22. If true maybe an agreement with Poole as I think NL teams aren't allowed assets, and perhaps in the future we could be a 'feeder' club like the IOW were a few year's ago . Just a shame we didn't seem to have riders like Tom and BWD coming through when we were in the Elite. I suppose the other side of the coin maybe we're more likely to get the use of riders like Adam Ellis now and others that Poole use in the future but need extra meetings.
  23. You're right because age etc wouldn't be a reason to block the move, can't think what it is at the moment though!
  24. Seems to be the norm now with the people who give NL a go, is happening at Eastbourne as I've found out, hope it continues.
  25. I've noticed his scores have been really good from the start of the season as well. Unusual for a new rider going up to the PL he doesn't seem to have any day's where he scores only 1 or 2. ( That'll happen next meeting now !) Imagine he'll be in the main body of the team soon. As you say , love to see him some point in the season if they did run the Sussex, especially against Adam and Jake.
