  1. Think baring injuries BV should win the league and ko cup as they will win at home by large figures, half due to bike set up on such a power track Don't think we'll be beaten at home again which probably means we'll make the playoffs. Only faint hope is apart from Brennen and to a degree Wood, the rest of the team still haven't quite hit their stride yet. If all 7 ride at their best in one day at Arlington a 15 point plus lead over anyone including BV isn't out of the question, and as usual injuries will have a say for most teams . Anyway I think we'll make the playoffs, then who knows.
  2. Think if you take the season as a whole what goes round comes round in most cases. I think the NL is just right as it is. It's still a development league bringing in and on the likes of Brennen, Jenkins, JPB, Bickley etc , but is also a competitive enough league to bring enough spectators through the gates to keep these clubs going . At Eastie, the fact Brennen is racing against experienced guys like Ayres, Davey Armstrong etc is bringing him on in leaps and bounds.
  3. I think one you can, but think two maybe different. What is amazing is I've been going for about 20 years and I'm not sure, neither is stevec who's been posting on here for years, just one of the problems with speedway, bad enough to get your head around it for us, newbies won't have a clue! Still think what I posted previously is correct though.
  4. Doesn't make any difference until the 4 league matches are played , so up until the 20th Connor and Kelsey could score 15 or 0 , won't make any difference to changing the team by that date. Big difference will be at the moment Tom is on an average of 3, after the 20th he'll probably be on 10 making team changes virtually impossible . Team changes have to be re declared at 39 again so in reality decision has to be made by the 20th to change the team or go with it.
  5. I would imagine it really comes from Jake keep having a practice after the meetings at home that points to him coming back. Of course he may just enjoy coming down to see old mates and having a blast round to get his speedway fix, but would think that unlikely!
  6. I did think the travelling would be a problem when he signed for us and Newcastle. Can't think there would be any gain for him at all going to the IOW instead of Eastbourne. Don't know where that leaves him or us though unless things change for him in the championship.
  7. You would think Mildenhall would be through, but if they lose by more than 6 at Kent with both the Kent Eastie matches to be played after, could still be one of the three. So many surprising results this year who knows!
  8. Not a 100% sure of my maths but if the speculation does prove right think it has to be someone under 3.26 if Knight comes back. Not sure who that would be though.
  9. I hope you sort something good, feel really sorry for the warriors with all the hard work everyone has put in to try and make a real go of the club.
  10. Think Islander means Harland Cook? Although if it did happen Coles and Dugard would hopefully steady it up a bit.
  11. Agree, think he's also been a bit unlucky with a couple of ref's decisions and last week was in a pile up because of a mistake by Wood in front of him.
  12. I suppose if it did leave us with Powell as our senior reserve when Tom goes up would weaken us there, but would have a cracking top 5. Also the likes of Jenkins etc will also be going up to the main body so he would by no means be the worst reserve . Who we get on a 3 though is the big question. Also I wonder if there's anyway a deal can be done to get Kelsey back to the IOW if he was to go. Back to the match, it almost seemed as though we were trying to gift Mildenhall the point. Did see the remaining fixtures in the NT mean Mildenhall play Kent home and away before we play Kent. If Mildenhall win home and away which seems a possibility they're through whatever, could see the Kent /Eastie ties not happening then.
  13. Really Brummie, sounds like an early season I'll look clever if I'm right but will be happy if as I really think we'll win!
  14. I did say it tongue in cheek but the replies are quite interesting! I suppose at the moment we don't know the full extent of Kelsey's injuries. If he has broken his other thumb and scaphoid I imagine he'll be out quite some time in which case replacing him would be the best option. Again its all down to points.
  15. Try to engineer Bates average to be lower than Kelsey's by the time the first averages come out, he'd go to reserve and do r/r at 2. With Mattie's mechanical issues at the moment may not be too difficult!
  16. Fairly good chance of progressing to that point, will be some tough ties for some of the other fancied teams I suppose.
  17. It did seem a bit odd seeing a strength in depth team last night, having had Ellis, Knight and Perks last year. But I suppose league wise the plan is working and Connor and Martin must be pleased as the team is winning without them all fireing together at the moment apart from Tom who should get better and better as the season goes on. If BV are as good as they appear think it would be difficult to win a playoff against them as like last year would always have a chance at home but likely to get hammered away. Still think it's possible for the playoffs though, need a bit of luck with the draw in the ko cup to retain it though.
  18. Ok, but why would he want to go to see Brighton, what have they done this year!!!
  19. On track did ok and at the moment strength in depth working at home, although it was dustier than usual, but what's happened to the presentation. Couldn't hear it, and had no idea what was going on, we're we in an interval etc. Don't know if it's a one off, but need to sort it out, if I'd have been a newbie would have had no chance of picking up what it was about. I know we can't go back to the heady days of Kevin Coombes, but surely we can do better than tonight.
  20. We need to up our game, and this Saturday against Cradley will probably show if Mildenhall was a one off or we're on that path. I do think Mildenhall are as good as they'll be all season , very good guests who would have probably outscored Mountain. Again though shows how unpredictable this season is likely to be.
  21. Maybe, but no room for error or engine failures and puts more pressure on the whole team. Also Kelsey is normally pretty good around Arlington.
  22. Apart from Tom Brennen the only other positive was it was a Trophy match and not a league one. The top end will have to up their game Saturday against Cradley, otherwise a first home league defeat will happen.
  23. Rumour going that Jake Knight broke his ankle doing moto x, not sure it's true but would wipe out that plan.
