  1. Never really expected anything else, never expected Lawson not to ride for Ipswich instead of Eastie and this case with Clegg. I'd bet if there's still 3 leagues next year the rules will be made simpler, the higher league will have first option on any rider in any competition throughout the season.
  2. Apart from the physical bit of seeing your team lift the trophy at home in the second leg, can assure you there's nothing worse than not winning it overall at home especially if you've topped the league. Plus point of the first leg is you're guaranteed 15 heats of all out racing, not always the case in the second leg. So in my mind doesn't matter which way round, just want 2 dry nights,2 well prepared tracks and safe racing.
  3. Sorry I don't mean to moan, but could you spell out exactly what you mean, surely speedway fans don't moan ?
  4. First time I think I've ever seen " sun beating down " and Middlesbrough written down in the same sentence!
  5. Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't I suppose
  6. Sure that has been done in the past when a team looks to be the making of good one. Bargain reserves, especially the new 2 pointers are the only ones the ambitious teams will and should sign up.
  7. I'm 99.9% sure like you that will happen and we won't be in the NL, but there was a proviso that the league structure would need to be the same?
  8. Alphabetical order, coin toss, unwritten rule to be implemented? Think no one will care by then anyway.
  9. Unfortunately I think you could be, as an Eastie supporter I always said the years we were in it the format was just right for bringing the youngsters on apart from (as all leagues) the constant reduction in the points limit. There were a lot of people who didn't agree and wanted a MDL type level, well at best they'll probably get their wish, at worst it's gone.
  10. After the match last night they did say they would like Edwards back apparently, sure he'll be one of the reserves anyway.
  11. Thats exactly what we both thought would and should happen. I see they've Nick Morris as a guest, also Georgie Wood down at 2, so be interesting to see how he goes after his 'break' and Connor Coles as guest reserve. Fair replacements and should be enough for the home win, although expect Adam Ellis to get plenty as usual at Arlington.
  12. I did mean 'honorable ' to Richard, although I'd prefer to see him Saturday at Arlington, I'm sure he'd rather be at a play off semi, although maybe he'd rather be at Eastie if they're already 20 behind.
  13. I'll be pleased if he rides for Eastie on Saturday but think its evens Ipswich, 2/1 Eastie at the moment.
  14. I think the rule book should be adhered to otherwise as said no point in having one, but I'm sure Eastie would and should have done the honorable thing for Lawson and let him ride for Ipswich, but at least it would have been their decision within the rules laid out.
  15. Don't think you read all my post, I said he should ride for Ipswich , just the arrogant way it's perceived to be done.
  16. Think you'll find in the mind of a premiership boss, opinion and statement of fact are actually the same thing!
  17. Firstly I think the rule book should be adhered to, we already have unwritten rules that may or may not be implemented at the whim of the bspa. At that point because of his service to Eastie this season allow Lawson to ride for Ipswich at Easties discretion for his sake subject to a guest facility. Lawson gets to ride in an important match and Eastie come out with some credit. What really grates is the nonchalant way the bspa and premiership clubs walk over lower league clubs and their fans almost enjoying it in the process.
  18. I think you'll find it's an unwritten rule which may or may not be implemented depending on wind direction.
  19. With the forecast not looking good for the weekend even now, reckon Eastie will move the last meeting back to October 5th which will get over the Lawson problem if the Ipswich match goes ahead. Have to agree, one way or another the Birmingham fixture should have been completed before the cut off, and again it just shows the bspa will sh** on the lower leagues without a second thought for race nights and affecting potential big crowds.
  20. Thanks everyone, I never realised there had been so many, and so many closed.
