  1. If I remember, Broc had far more than one choice when he was signed by Wolves who looked at a long term plan with him. Bet he wishes he'd gone elsewhere now with some wanting him changed before the season starts. I know it wasn't in the Premiership, but at Eastie last season he looked to be star in the making, certainly on a similar pace to Richard Lawson at our notoriously tricky track from his first visit. As has been said being 2 points under leaves a possible window for a change or 2 ,but I really would start with him and think you will. (Sorry should be on the Wolves thread really)
  2. Indeed, but Joe Screen was never as good when he came off the pies and cut the tastles of his race suit.
  3. I was only fibbing, but as there hadn't been a post on the Eastie section for 2 weeks, just wondered if it would wake a few more of us up! Obviously the days are still too short and the night's too long at the moment, role on the spring.
  4. Would have thought no, one on an upward curve, one on a downward one, alienate Broc Nicol now and he may never ride for you again, would be someone else's gain though.
  5. Just heard from a reliable source that Martin Dugard is back in training and will be named as our number 8 for the coming season.
  6. Doesn't seem to be anyone on here who thinks it a good call, makes you wonder how the decision could have been made in the first place by people who should be able to see this can only harm speedway in the 3rd tier.
  7. Would it have been any different to Cradley over the last 10 years? Stupid decision.
  8. Think it maybe lack of daylight during the winter months up north (unlike the sunny south coast), which drives some of them slightly mad, does seem to trouble some more than others though, but think THJ may need a UV lamp, and a bit more vitamin D this time of year, although thinking about it he doesn't appear to be a lot different in the summer.
  9. Is Blackgang Chine still there, or has it all slipped into the sea now? ( one for the locals )
  10. Indeed, that's what I thought with them both going to Mildenhall.
  11. He was injured which really curtailed his season, and do think the ties he has with Eastbourne and friends with Jason Edwards may have had a bearing on him riding for Mildenhall and not Kent again, especially as Mildenhall is a stand alone team. Think it's a good move anyway.
  12. Hope he fulfills his promise this year, seen him ride before the match at Eastie since he was hardly big enough to staddle a bike and always looked so neat on a bike like Jason. Look after them both for us, sure at some point he'll be in the Eagles team as well.
  13. Top the league, bottle the playoffs again I expect
  14. Piffle makes me laugh for some reason, suppose it's more polite than bol***ks.
  15. Like all disliked riders, especially from your main local competition over the years Eastie were in the NL, if he puts in the effort and reliability he did in his first 4 seasons of speedway the crowd will soon be supporting him, dull he certainly isn't.
  16. Does it taste horrible, never tried it.
  17. Likelihood would be 2 home wins by a similar amount, so crowd wise should be good and the overall win would be fairly close so probably be a good call by both promotions.
  18. Saw Douglas and Nicol in the CL at Eastie last year, both were fantastic having never riden our awkward/tight track before. From the outside the fact you've got riders who could be the backbone of your team for seasons to come can only be good. I understand being under 2 points grates for some, but long term looks the right way to me, only shame is Nichol isn't doubling with us at Eastie. I'm sure all 3 will up their average this season too, playoffs the aim first, then who knows, Wolves have done it before as we know to our cost, 2002 still annoys me!
  19. Steady on you'll pass out with the praise!
  20. Whatever the surprise is 52% will either like it or not, and 48% will either like it or not I expect with pages of debate, or am I thinking of something else?
  21. Just shows the points limit must be right, top heavy teams, strength in depth, good reserves, best top 5 etc. All differing opinions on here which will work, and expect they'll be an 'Ipswich' this season which nobody will expect to get to the final. I think Swindon are favourites, but its nice not to be sure.
  22. I'm sure I remember seeing David riding on the training track , but being in my 60's could be a memory thing!
  23. True it could be a long and winding road to the end of the season.
