Birmingham Brummies 2020
gazzac replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
How about a generic combination of both sports, perhaps Speedogging Avenue, or something similar? -
You would think not , but assume people thought the same with tobacco advertising 20/30 years ago?

Is anyone else having trouble with Google translate, doesn't seem to be working for me at the moment....

Indeed, I live not far from Goodwood car circuit and they aren't allowed a permanent structure, other than the listed ones that have been there for decades, but put up ( and take down) a fair number of large temporary stands every year.

Is that forum or promoter nuggets?

I think the guessing on teams will start in the new year and I'm sure it will be minus virtually all European riders, and if a points limit is set early on. Big difference making a team on 35 compared to 38/9, so almost impossible to guess at the moment. Low limit normally means a greater discrepancy in ability throughout teams , so hope it's at the slightly higher end of the range really, with enough British and Commonwealth riders to go round.

Wasn't 'All fur coat and no knickers' a 70's film I seem to remember in my youth?
-
If Eastie keep six of this years 7 and the points limit is reduced I'll be relatively happy and think they'll be in a good position for next year, the fact we went for an all British team this year should be a great help for next season either way.
-
Eastbourne maybe? Unless Plymouth do come up and Ian Jordon has a slight shuffle with his interest in both teams.
-
You're right unfortunately, only way it would work would be with less teams than the premiership and championship combined, obviously hope not, but the pandemic could facilitate one league if some don't reopen next season.

Had a quick look, not a full read yet, but looks really well put together as you say, well done to everyone involved.

MORE POLISH LEAGUE INTERFERENCE
gazzac replied to Gunner85's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Think they'll be a lot of 'riders' who've started at the back and get to the front before the finish. Also probably a lot do the reverse as well. -
Did a double take then, didn't have my reading glasses on and thought it was purvy right through it! That could also be true as well I suppose.

MORE POLISH LEAGUE INTERFERENCE

Indeed, will become just the same as the Superbowl champions being claimed as world champions, a pointless claim. -
Can't believe everything won't be the same as this year points wise etc. Teams who want the same team can, those who don't or can't know the limit now.... But this is the BSPA!!!

Pretty much a stock reply from a net receiver from the EU, and I believe they are the largest recipients. Only to pleased to receive the millions from Germany, France and the UK( and others) over the years, and quick enough not to toe the line when it doesn't suit them. Expect a lot of parts of their stadia and roads to them have been part funded by us as well, still at least they can dictate speedway at our expense in more than one way!

If the points fit, would think more than likely.

Someone told me peanut or ground nut oil heated smells a bit like it? Haven't tried it but plus side if it doesn't smell like it, can cook with it or make dressings or dips I assume .. If not maybe Castor oil heated would smell similar as that was the original base oil for R ?
-
Seem to remember he came unstuck with doing that on more than one occasion.

I don't remember the draft system, I started going in 1970 so assume it was before that ? I think Eastie would have gone for basically the same team next year even if there had been a season this year if the points would have allowed, so will be sure it'll be the same starting 7, especially as the youngsters have moved on this season especially Kemp. Ps,sorry suppose this should be on the Eastie or Brum thread really!

That's a bit ageist H !!

The Ian Jordon effect has taken hold straight away, like it did at Eastbourne, seems to have the touch to bring a club up and on from day one.
