  1. 2nd maybe 😅...
  2. Seem to remember at least one Holder getting injured training on a moto cross bike pre season, and although after he retired Lee Adams fateful ride the desert. I think in general top speedway riders put their fearlessness before moto cross ability.
  3. You'd think Aussie speedway riders would learn stay off moto cross bikes, never ends well...
  4. Had some good banter with THJ a few years ago on here, think had a similar level of sarcasm, was he not in the best health either a few years ago? Lost friends always sad, especially as a lot of us are long term fans and we're all getting old/older. First time I went was 55 years ago, so if I disappear off here, you probably know what's happened. On that joyous note..... Happy Christmas to you all 😅.
  5. Shame they haven't used any former Kent riders as heat leaders and relatively local to make it a joint venture......think you might be alone on your views on the Eagles/Norris bit.
  6. I may be wrong, but think the Kent eagles are a new team and a new promotion.
  7. Trying to stay out of all the vitriolic posts both ways on here, an honest question, if Poole had started to build the side the Kent eagles are starting to build in the NLT with Abblit, Foord, and Morley, plus the runner up to Cairns in the youth championship this year, would the attendance be reasonable ( pay its way?) Question was asked earlier if any NL teams at least break even, can't think for a minute in its first season this new team/promotion won't achieve that.
  8. Think you're probably right there(just) but Holder's on his game 5/10, and Kurtz 9/10 in the Premiership.
  9. So HG, VJF in the NDL and NLT, OK?.....
  10. Don't be silly, best solutions are never used in speedway, sure something far more complicated will be used.
  11. He will be very good if he is, Screen was brilliant as a 16 year old, and world u23 champion in 1993. Was still at a really high level winning the Elite league with Eastie in 2000, until 2001 when he badly broke his leg and was never the same. Still put in a good turn for another 10 years though including Poole.
  12. Or maybe eventually brought the mathematical equation into the range of the powers that be.......
  13. Knowing Poole's luck/planning, expect Starke will have his best season for years, Foord will have an average one and be back next season on a similar average as this year. Hope not from Workington's point of view but could happen.
  14. Good second signing and like the ethos of a 30 year old heat leader and a promising 15 year old as the first 2 signings. See on the bspa website Jamie was 2nd to Cairns in the youth championship this year so an ideal signing. A 15 year old, a 30 year old, who's 45 and still riding......
  15. Could do Without You in this conversation......
  16. One way or another he should be forgotten about, and if he's any sence should have got a proper job by now.....
  17. If Kerr can stay injury free, in the Poole 'environment ' he will at least keep his average.
  18. Sure it'll go all season at least with the set up at Iwade. I think every fan of Eastbourne and Kent realises this is a new venture and think it'll enhance the support. Distance maybe a problem for some, me included to go on a regular basis, but as said think spectator numbers will be good enough to make the project successful.
  19. Wasn't that always the case back in the recent hayday of development in the NL when the likes of Brennen/ Flint/ Kemp etc were youngster's, when you and I thought it was a great league to be in with Kent and Eastie ? Just think a few of the older heads helped then, even the ones who found the NL to be their level/safety net? Morley and the like must be able to help with set ups/track craft etc now I would have thought.
  20. Looks a good rule to me, especially with the 2 leagues. I'm still of the thought that the likes of Morley coming back in can only help youngsters with their development in these leagues. Jon Armstrong always springs to mind, all the help he gave to youngsters over the years in the NL, even though much the time he was a heat leader.
  21. With 40 point limit held for the next 3(?) seasons unfortunately it's going to look the same every year for the foreseeable future, spiralling downwards.
  22. It all stems from not enough riders, especially good riders in the Premiership, mugged away the chance back in the Elite/Sky days. If you had a stand alone Premiership with top line riders, without the doubling up of so many and only a few of the heat leaders from the championship in the Premiership it wouldn't be the problem, and you'd have natural progression from NL to championship with closer racing and progression of the ones to make it, or be competitive in the championship. Unfortunately through bad management/promotion of the product, those days have gone....shame, not enough teams left to do it now and the problems Poland have caused with race nights means almost no way back.
  23. Expect a couple of ports out of the decanter help.....
  24. Just hope Kerr has an injury free season for you, he's had so many bad injuries through the years, one or 2 have taken a lot of guts to come back from.
