Leicester v Newcastle 9/4/22
gazzac replied to justathought's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Always think calm clear cold dry nights are good as long as you go dressed accordingly. Good visabilty under the lights and normally the track stays pretty consistent throughout the meeting. -
Harris going to be the busiest rider by far in British speedway again this season, but to be honest not many wouldn't want him as a guest. Hope bikes and body survive ok....

It seemed more, anyway look after the 3 from last year's Easties team, hopefully we'll have them back next year.... -
Poole v Plymouth KO Cup 2nd leg 6/4/22

Really pleased Lawson quickly shut up the negative posts quite a few Poole fans had with him before the season started. -
Sorry, after I posted I thought I was wrong, but what a speedway dynasty.

King's Lynn v Ipswich. League Cup 7/4/22
gazzac replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Its about 20 minutes work for the 4 days, the rest poncing around or asleep in his van, or watching his mechanic get his bikes ready, hard life... -
I think the stadium is owned by the Dugards( Eric and his wife?), but last year's speedway business was 'run' by primarily Ian Jordon. That's why everything should be back up and running next year, stadium still owned by people who want speedway to continue, will need some good promoting from Trevor Geer etc though, but at least the people involved next year will be Eagles through and through.

Suppose the only bad luck in 2000 was to come up against the best team Eastbourne had ever produced at any time in their history and just edged it, but it was close and both were way ahead of anyone else that season. Although KL had Crump and Adams topping the averages, Eastbourne had 5 riders average between 7 and 9.6, and all British in a proper Elite league.....

BERWICK v BIRMINGHAM (Championship) April 2nd 7pm
gazzac replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He still looks like a top grass tracker on a speedway track which is what he is really. -
I'm sure that's why Premiership and Championship should have 25/30% lower level/ less costs, especially if Poland realised that the conveyor belt of non Polish riders will eventually stop if they kill off all the other leagues.
-
More teams like Oxford, Glasgow and Poole need to move to a slightly diluted cheaper Premiership , and the Championship then needs to be somewhere between what it is now and the NL with sdl/mdl second halves. Still be a problem with rider numbers though I imagine and a few club/promoters self interest, but it'll only get worse next season as you say. I'd happily see Eastbourne at the lower level, had some great racing in the NL when it was a decent level. Ideally have 10 teams in each league if a few could come up from the NL or any more to come back like Oxford. Hopefully make slightly more even teams in both leagues, all a dream I know, but one way or another something needs to be done.
-
And Edwards and Abblit, oh well 5 years of proper NL development wasted for us, just gauling others get the reward of the hard work the Dugards and others put in, not BV or Glasgow's fault I know but still grates.

Hope no ones playing the fiddle when in Rome ? ( one for the historians....)
-
If they were stopped from signing someone because of Poland, and no other immediate options who would blame them. Don't think a certain neighbour up the coast and countless other teams would have given it a second thought not to do the same.

Perhaps the answers in your name ?

Tom's a really tough lad and remarkable how he came back from injuries especially his broken leg when he had to be put in an induced coma for a week. But hey let's hope the discussion whos best between him and Jordon keeps going and going to the top.

Unfortunately looks like the Premiership junior league is just lip service as before and unlikely to happen again this season.
-
Sad to say I think you Peterborough fans have to treat every season from now on as it could be the last one and enjoy it whilst you can ( no different to most clubs really). Will Buster lose interest more quickly and pull out of the showground at the first opportunity?....

Scientists have been trying to find the missing link for decades.....

Is the rocking up at the gate something to do with age and dodgy knees and hips?
-
Out of hibernation then
-
The number 8 is really just a pr stunt along with the Premiership junior league to make people think they're doing something to promote the up and coming riders instead of putting more effort into a proper NL, but hey....
-
Sad about Les Fineing, seem to have been a lot of supporters/sponsors lost to us and other clubs over the last year.

I'm sure some positive pr before 2023 will help, but don't think they'll be a lot of bad feeling anyway. Perhaps we could burn an effergy of a certain someone on the centre green during press and practice to expel the ghost? Too radical maybe .
