Predictions for Prem 2023 as teams stand ...
gazzac replied to Pauldoveyspeedway's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Think that's a little unfair on Bjarne to be honest, was a good servant to British speedway and always tried,in his prime certainly wasn't average and think he had quite a say in Peterborough's league title in 2021. -
The + next to 'quote' on each you want( a tick comes up), then a small box with the number of quotes in it comes up to click.
-
Don't you just push/click the + 'button' by the quotes you want on any page?

Too polite, just do it.....

SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings

That old Poole fan trick -
Would a spell at Poole bring Dan Thompson on to the next level? You pretty much know with the other 3 mentioned where they are at and likely to be at, personally think Thompson is worth a try, best case he kicks on at No2, if not straight away will very quickly be at reserve with an experienced rider.

Lot of darts flying around, with one left can you hit the bullseye, or a wire and fall out ?
-
Probably a full house on a one off, half to cheer him, half to stone him I suppose....
-
Isn't that something to do with that famous Greek bloke Gerard Butler?
-
Maybe time to stop the playoffs, would put a finish to all these arguments. Oh no I've opened up that again......
-
I thought it was going to be this good.....
-
I enjoy youth racing, but a different level of drawing fans I imagine with the current crop of under 21's, quite a few championship and premiership riders. Obviously be a bit dearer though.
-
Fingers crossed again! Who's the experienced co-promotor I wonder? On a side note, Jake Knight was one of the best/exciting riders we had in our NL glory days, rode the boards at Arlington unlike any other NL rider, always thought he was so close to making the next step.
-
Fingers crossed it's a positive one. I know the owners don't really want NL but unless there's something dramatically different from last year with sponsorship etc not sure where we can go. Unless even this summer on a few Sunday afternoons we could go down the IOW ( Nora) route and at least keep the track alive other than stock cars. I'd go just for the noise/smell and introduce a couple of young grandchildren who haven't been to a speedway meeting, a bit more variety might hold their attention for more than 5 mins aswell.

New speedway clubs for fun
gazzac replied to FishersGate's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I believe there maybe a team around the corner from them called the Tarrant Hinton Tradesmen's..... -
Good job you don't race on a Friday night, Pompey on that day just after 10pm is an experience at times.....

Democracy always (mostly?) wins Chairman THJ. Ideas were both ok, but simplicity probably was the overiding factor in the vote for most I imagine ? Ps, by the way I'm an OAP and beer under 5% abv why bother? and the only coffee I'd have is is with a nice malt in with it out the hip flask.....
-
I know you're probably being a bit flippant( always a first I suppose ) with the £16, but having thought about it again £13 is spot on for a stand alone club. If the track is as good as it looks, good value, shame it's 500 mile+ round trip for me otherwise I'd give it go if I was closer.
-
Unfortunately a few years ago may have been £10, but can't see that back again now really. Although we had quite an expensive team for NL , Eastbourne charged £13 back in 2018 and before, so can't think it's far out today. I think more teams will stop the OAP concession and that's coming from one who would qualify.
-
Good deal for families for an afternoon's speedway, Mum ,Dad and 3 kids for £25. Says introductionary offer, but if successful and hopefully the crowds are healthy and its viable has to be the way with NL.
-
So you're calling for a mass debate....
-
You're so right with a good perseived product in whatever league you start/ end up in, get that right and people will come. Also as an away fan always preferred going to an out of town venue rather than a town centre type ( being an Eastie fan I suppose). Went to Tralawney a couple of times on holiday when they were running, that really was remote in a disused china clay pit, but had a pretty good track, a young Chris Harris and pulled in good numbers. Your new track looks to be a winner so sure you'll do fine.

I've heard from a reliable source it's still going to be the Jubilee Cup held for King Charles silver jubilee, assume that'll be 2048 I suppose if he makes it to then, otherwise will probably be posponed.
-
DD Cup maybe?
-
I suppose if that's what you've got to do .......
