Have a look at Monty Python's 4 Yorkshireman if you don't know it, that's definitely the world some live in
-
Definitely dearer down south, maybe another generous subsidy from Westminster?
-
Did say £50 for 2 for an average meal, couple of courses and a drink at Nando's is probably £40 for 2?
-
I suppose it's all down to perceived value. £50 + is now an average meal out for 2, is that better value than eating at home beforehand and having a night of speedway for the same? Only people can make that decision, but as you say if you don't have the £50+ spare in the first place it's academic really and that's the dire/sad situation we find the country in at the moment.
-
If you look at inflation £20 in 2022 is about the same as £10 was in 2000. I always like to pay as little as possible for anything that I can, but realistically it's still a £10 sport from 20 years ago, but inflation has meant it's now £20. I'm not defending promotions and money is tight but unless all speedway becomes NL level or lower it can't go below £20 really.
-
Shouldn't that be 3 sure's and not 2 with an assume maybe......
-
Very sad, saw him( Andre Malherbe) at Farleigh Castle a number of times when he was world 500 mx champion or runner up, had some fantastic battles with our best ever motocrosser Dave Thorpe, like a lot of other riders had a dreadful accident in the Paris Dakar desert race following such a fantastic career.
-
Captain Kremmen I seem to recall, but I'm sure you meant it ' all in the best possible taste '......... Cupid Stunt........... think that was another one.
-
Just had a look, nice clean uncomplicated website.
-
Even now, a Sheffield/Belle Vue final looks pretty nailed on really baring mishaps.
-
I did say prospect, think this season is a good pointer which way he's going. At worst ( no disrespect intended ) he probably will be a Charles Wright ability type rider, if he kicks on who knows, take into the equation the Doyle scenario, who could have seen a world champion coming when he was younger, and he's a must this coming season I would have thought, certainly won't be a shortage of offers if Lemon plays the short term numbers game and can't fit him in.
-
Why would he not want to be back unless Lemon has a stupid moment, best British prospect of another Bewley, and another season for him on the best track in the country.
-
Gets worse and worse really then.
-
Like most of our NL products , Eastbourne closing caused a major problem.
-
Perhaps have a chat with Tom Brennen and Leon Flint ....
-
Not an Eastie fan then.....
-
I've always thought the panto season shouldn't start until Dec 1st ......we seem to run a 12 month season on the bsf.
-
I think at the end of the day 'toughness ' is an underestimated part of speedway in some ways. Brennen especially with a couple of early bad injuries came back stronger where Kemp who initially looked to have more talent on a bike doesn't seemed to have made the gains, maybe not as tough. Occasionally you get the combination of both and they go all the way like Dan Bewley, of the current crop Brennen is at the balance point, fingers crossed he can be the next Dan.
-
Wind turbine maybe a better bet than solar panels? Sure the IOW is the sunniest place ( or second) , not sure where Workington is on the list.....
-
As Brennen is an asset and baring injury will only get better and better, surely whoever you have I would have thought build it around Basso and Brennen?....
-
Agree with what you're saying, and to a point the list, but is Bewley second tier now, gp winner etc?

SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings

Same form as Richard Lawson this season maybe? -
Should have happened about 4 years ago really, so although I agree with what you've said, will it happen now? I was lucky to see the NL with Eastie between 2015/18, and once you got it in your head we'd dropped from the old proper Elite league the racing was really good. Saw Adam Ellis, Ellis Perks, Tom Brennen etc, all coming up through, even a young Dan Bewley once, what happened to him I wonder... May have been lucky but a league level slightly higher than that level I'm sure would eventually work. Just need to convince the clubs and diehards.

Best idea and save a lot of wasted time is to award it to Leicester. Probably their only chance of winning something in the immediate future...... ( Just to confirm I'm not a Poole fan...) -
