  1. Well I would, but this is a British Speedway club we'e talking about. I'm just going to wait and see ... but I won't be holding my breath!
  2. Just because it doesn't explicitly say 'official protest' doesn't mean that hasn't happened though?.Otherwise why put that statement on the website at all? I'd say the 'no further comment' bit simply means they have nothing more to say regarding whatever appeal may or may not have been made until they receive a response from the SCB. Until the SCB issue a statement, none of us knows 100% what decision will be made. For what it's worth I am not expecting the score to be changed at this stage though.
  3. Speedway - the only sport where it's OK to like the Australians!

  4. Here's where it says. Someone else did post this link on here earlier, it may not have been in response to your question though. http://www.bellevueaces.co/newsitem.aspx?id=1563
  5. There does seem to be a precedent here. The SCB have surely dug themselves into a hole by failing to adjudicate promptly on this issue.
  6. From memory I recall Sigalos was '79 and Jankowski 1980. Sigalos' first season with Hull - I think he actually got 15 from 5 rides at reserve. Frank Auffret, Hull's other reserve, got 0 from 5. Both Hull reserves got 5 rides as one of the main 1-5 didn't show, and the match finished 39-39. Jankowski got a paid max. but was in the team proper (not at reserve). A revitalised Hackney unexpectedly won 32-46 at Blunsdon, and then went on to finish 2nd in the league behind the Dave Lanning-inspired Reading Racers. I'm not sure about the '2 maximums in one match' you suggested CR, but I do remember Ole Olsen and Jiri Stancl (at reserve) did this for opposing teams in a Reading v Coventry fixture, from the same era - Speedway Star had a regular feature that highlighted such statistical oddities.
  7. Congratulations to Poole on winning the title, and to Belle Vue on coming so close and making it a final to remember. Encouraging to see that fans of both clubs have mainly been gracious in victory/defeat, with only a minority resorting to needless gloating or whining about the Gogglegate incident. Craig Cook's performance certainly bodes well for the future.
  8. Congratulations on your (sensible) change of name. That's certainly an interesting group of friends you have there.
  9. I think the update 'ouch' is referring to is a conversation with Jason Crump and/or Lemo. Both former Poole riders. Before this goes completely off track ...
  10. I think that's pretty much spot on. I'll second that !
  11. Congratulations to Belle Vue, a solid and professional performance and the better team over the two legs. Best of luck to you for the final. Swindon were always going to need 7 top performances and a bit of luck to overturn the deficit from last week, but unfortunately we didn't get either, although (as already mentioned) the falls were mainly brought about by riders simply trying too hard. Nick, Aaron and Charlie all did as much as could be expected, and Zengi improved after a poor start, but we needed much better returns from Batch and PK. The outside line on bends 1 and 2 seemed to catch out a few riders, unusual to see quite so many passes made round the inside there? But conditions still allowed some good racing, and while Kildemand had a poor night overall, the heat 8 pass against Max Fricke was perhaps one last glimpse of classic PK at the Abbey. Assuming it happens, will the new (smaller) track be able to offer that same style of racing?
  12. Not going to happen, unless the ref. by mistake allows Coventry to use a TR when only 6 points down! Now of course, if Poole were 6 points behind ...
  13. Brilliant! (Think you'll find it's Kryste though)
  14. Have only just managed to watch Leigh's final effort in the GP due to my PC losing all Internet connections at just after 9pm last night. A brave effort, but it seems to have been his destiny to finish 2nd to Nicki P, just like in 2007. And congratulations to Jason Crump - great to have a Bristolian World champion again !!
