  1. Cardiff has one big advantage over every other speedway track in the UK - it has a roof, which means it's guaranteed to go ahead. So, in thinking about moving it, it would be a major factor.
  2. Was that (entirely) Newcastle's fault? I don't think so.
  3. R/R for Lewis Rose. Danny Ayres guests for James Sarjeant
  4. Did he not wipe out Dickie Juul in the opening heat, too?
  5. If you live in Workington (or somewhere near), which way did you go home? 2 and a half hours to get from Newcastle to Workington?
  6. We came up with three names that could 'fit the bill,' two whilst standing waiting for the ambulance and one just after we had set off after the meeting: Jake Allen and Stu Robson (as already mentioned) and one who (I don't think) has been mentioned and that is Nicolai Busk Jakobsen
  7. Surely we have to get someone in, if, as seems likely, Lewis is going to be out for a time. The thought of Ludde, Ash and the two reserves taking the R/R rides (especially away from home) isn't exactly a fantastic thought.
  8. I wouldn't touch him even if he had a 2.15 average..
  9. Why? He's the best of the three we've tried this season.
  10. Perhaps they thought that he might have improved, more than he actually has? Or a whole host of other reasons, but, as mentioned, they listened to the fans and made a change.
  11. Sounds as if I didn't miss much last night. Still I would have prefered to be there than stuck in here! I think it's the first home meeting I've missed in 15 years (Trelawny KOC in 2002). Hope it's another 15 before I have to miss another one, poor meeting or not! As they say " You can only beat what's behind you," and it's not really Berwick's fault the team they put out last night. But it's happening far too often and all its doing is ripping off the fans. But, it seems, no-one high up seems to care.
  12. I actually don't care who the guests are, so long as they let me out of hospital for a few hours so I can get to the meeting!
  13. As far as i'm aware, we only have access to the track on the day of a meeting.
  14. So, what do you want them to do? Leave the track alone and just let riders keep on crashing and getting injured?
  15. Stevie, among other things, discusses his wrist injury here: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100736
  16. Here's an interview with Stevie, where, among other things, discusses his injury: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100736
  17. I'm no expert, by any stretch of the imagination, but, if he's riding a different make of engine this year, will that not mean the set up has to be different?
  18. At least he didn't "retire," only to replace himself a few days/weeks later!
  19. New averages from 26th June Robert 9.65 Steve 8.81 Ludde 6.71 Lewis 6.27 Ash 4.95 Ben 2.44 (effective from yesterday 22nd June) Dan 2.00 Ttl 40.83
  20. Jason 'The Primate' Prime (or Jay Melrose as he used to be known when he second-halved at Brough!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj4VGrFccCA
