What gets me (as an outsider), when Keith Denham was in charge, people criticised him and voted with their feet and said "we won't be back until he goes." He went and when the current Promotion took over, the crowds came back, but the club seem to be in a similar position again now. So the question is, "what, exactly, do the speedway fans of Workington actually want?"

I stood on the back straight when Newcastle were there the other week.... along with about 30 others...

I made the semi and didn't make the final but on the same time I twisted my leg and today woken up unable to walk on it and went to the hospital to get it checked and they signed me off for today so I can't race. I'm very disappointed because I want to finish the season on a high and another meddle. I hope I get signed fit for tomorrow in Poland. Also at the hospital I seen team mate Martin Smolinskiafter his crash last night.

From a purely selfish point of view and no offence to Josh, I hope he doesn't ride in Poland on Sunday, as I would guess we would be allowed a guest or R/R.

It will be the same as for the match a fortnight ago, IF Robert is riding in Poland that is. So no ban (sorry to disappoint you), NL rider at number one (prob Josh Embleton) and if the Polish fixture is rained off, Diamonds can use R/R or a guest (unless Mr Vacher or someone else decrees otherwise).

Unfortunately my post was made before I realised the two were missing (forgot it was the SGBPRC on the same night). Once upon a time, you weren't allowed to run on the same night/day as a Shared Event. I know they have to get the fixtures in, but could they not have ran on a different night?

I hope for Workington Speedway's sake, that the crowd is considerably better than it was last week against Newcastle.

1997 in the PL

That's the worst crowd I have ever seen at Derwent Park and, apparently it was better than the last couple of meetings. It doesn't bode well for the future for my "second team." A few decent races tonight (especially heat 13) and two points for the Diamonds. It's a shame we've started to do well away from home when the season is all but over!
