  1. Unfortunately, 75% will always beat 25% !! As I hinted at earlier, maybe this will help in big changes at the AGM, where, at least in these circumstances, common sense (which, as maugher65 says is sadly lacking) can prevail?
  2. All my point was, you said that it was a BSPA ruling, and I was just pointing out that it wasn't. In fact the BSPA wanted to help us, but couldn't due, to the rules of a 'higher authority.' Maybe it will be on the agenda of this years AGM to change that? Perhaps (and I don't know) Sheffield were the only team to ask about hosting the Pairs? Meanwhile the Club has issued a statement concerning tonight (Taken from the Website and I think it's the same one on Facebook): Tonight's home clash against the Workington Comets has been postponed. We can only apologise for the late call off of tonight’s meeting. Our trackstaff worked from 7.30 this morning pumping standing water from the surface and preparing the track for the meeting. Unfortunately when the meeting referee met with the riders, they unanimously agreed that despite all of the work done, the track was deemed unfit for racing. With rider safety paramount there was no other option but to postpone the meeting. We can only apologise again and we will announce the restaging date as soon as we can.
  3. Depends how long it takes to fix the tapes though! I know a few tracks that take an age to put another set of tapes on!
  4. According to Comets website it's the same 1-7 as last night against P'boro, so it should be Tom Woolley.
  5. This isn't a BSPA rule (concerning Robert): http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100781
  6. Explained on one of the other threads here: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=85391&page=3&do=findComment&comment=3039628
  7. It's on the website (and has been since about 11.25am) that Josh Embleton is at number one for the Diamonds http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100792
  8. Yes, but why start another thread to ask the question?? http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=85391&page=3&do=findComment&comment=3038994
  9. He's one of the best at the job. Close call between him and Michael Max to who is the best in my opinion. Hopefully next weeks visit by me won't be the last.
  10. Apart from when they go to Somerset.....
  11. Being a Team Manager isn't all about the rulebook (and I don't think it ever has been). The right words at the right time are far more important in many cases.
  12. I believe it is stupid to suggest that we don't want to win. It's a chance of silverware, in what has been, largely, a disappointing season.
  13. KO Cup Quarter Final. Newcastle vs Glasgow Mon 9th Oct (7.30pm). Another home meeting I'll miss!!
  14. Newcastle vs Glasgow announced on Diamonds website for Mon 9th Oct (7.30pm).
  15. Correct and probably Josh Embleton (third time lucky for the guy?). Not only are we not allowed a guest, Chris Harris will be busy that day, riding for Peterborough.
  16. Single match Diamonds vs Workington on Sunday 1st Oct then Sat 7th Workington vs Diamonds.
  17. Don't forget, a few years ago, they ran the PLRC (re-arranged after the first one got called off) in the early afternoon, to allow us to race against Workington later the same night.
  18. £2 parking in the stadium (just to make that bit clear! Yes you can park for free outside!!).
  19. What gets me (as an outsider), when Keith Denham was in charge, people criticised him and voted with their feet and said "we won't be back until he goes." He went and when the current Promotion took over, the crowds came back, but the club seem to be in a similar position again now. So the question is, "what, exactly, do the speedway fans of Workington actually want?"
